It's time to visit the place once called "a sunny place for shady people" - the principality of Monte Carlo.

How will the wider, more slippery 2017 cars fare around the tight circuit? Will Ferrari end their 15 year drought of Monaco victories? Where would Alonso rather be?

Don't forget that FP1 and FP2 are on Thursday in Monaco ;)

I totally forgot that Monaco has always FP1 & FP2 on Thursday :banghead: I missed FP1.
Just saw the FP1 times. Indeed it seems nice result of both Torro Rosso's. We know that FP's are not about the fastest times and it has to happen in qualification and the race itself but still...

It was an unexciting session, nobody (Ferrari/Merc aside) seemed to be really spanking the car. No incidents other than Vettel kissing an inside barrier with his right-front. Stroll looked very leery, I have no wish to see him crash but I suspect he'll be the first.

FP2 running now on C4 and Sky.

I'm watching FP2 live on my laptop with an ice cold beer and a sunny sky. Live can be tough
And after this session fire up AC and drive with a Porsche on the Nordschleife (then no sun...)

Great and also frightening to see how thet get so close to the barriers and some even use them as a marker and touch them slightly. Have you see e.g. the on board lap with Max. :scared:

I still find it remarkable how little in the way of catchfences there are a Monaco. Around Casino Square it would take a very small amount of wheel to wheel contact to send a car airborne over a fence and into a trackside light pole or anything really.

am I dreaming? Mercedes in position 10th and 8th after practice 2
I cannot imagine Mercedes is playing poker? so it seems like this is it for today. But on the other hand during Q they always have that mysterious button and squeeze another 0,5 extra vs the competition.

For the race and ranking it would be great if this P2 would be the Q. Especially with the Torro Rosso in the pack

Ok, guessing game:

How long will Fernando's engine last (inverse Price is Right rules, closest without going UNDER)?

I would say lap 55.

Good Lord, the Belgian news reporter at Monaco is such a moron. First he asks Stoffel "Can you win this weekend?" To which Stoffel replies that it's unrealistic to even think McLaren is anywhere near a condition to win a race.

Then he proceeds to ask Button the exact same question...

Is that all you can think of asking when given a chance to speak to Jenson Button?!

My God...if only my TV had a virtual slap function...

Never know, McLaren could win this race if they get really lucky. Hopefully they qualify at least 7th and 8th if there are no problems.
