Theres some nice in game footage on you tube at the moment (you have to be quick as rockstar are deleting them after about an hour) theres one of a guy in online mode just taking a helicopter for a spin......WOW is all I can say, the game world looks huge, with a masive amount of detail whos up for a game of hide and seek with 16 of us and the whole city to hide in! oh yeah bring your rocket launchers and the guy whos it gets to use the helicopter LOL

I haven't read anything on this region lock as yet. It's not a major problem although I was looking forward to playing with some GTP members outside Europe.
 
think it's to do with the 360 version reigon locking the game so pal version wont work in NTSC reigon, nothing to do with the online side, a problem with the Australian edited version of the game. So free run mode.....any ideas for games?

I liked the king kong game Idea everyone jusmps in 4 helicopters and jump out at the top of the empire state building.......so then you have 4 attack helicopters and 12 guys with rocket launchers defending the empire state building against them.......sounds sweet LOL

Or 1 guy in a fast car against 15 guys in police cars.....aim is to get from point a-b without the cops getting you.........

This really could go on all night. Free run in GTA is going to be huge, And thats not to mention some of the pre defined games which sound awesome.

I had to participate in a formal debate for communications class today with the topic of video game violence. Luckily I was on the negative side, discrediting the claim that violent video games affect children and that kind of thing.

Prerelease party at Gamestop tonight. :)
 
omg god you guys are just soooo lucky. i cant even wait til midnight cause law only allows shops open until 10:30pm :S gonna get it tomorrow after i passed my exam!! :D

like other said, hope there is no region lock... wanna hook up with all of you gtp'ers

I haven't even pre-ordered it! I'm just hoping that my nearest shop that stocks video games will have it. Otherwise if I can't find it in my home town, I'll just get someone to buy it in Dublin and give it to me at the weekend. Meh, I can wait a few days if I need to.
 
i have a real good friend who works at a gamestop, being that hardly anyone around me area buys ps3 games (she has told me so) i will be getting my copy a little bit earlier than midnight......it seems like it's going to be a very fun game..especially the online portion, but as far as excitement i was alot more excited waiting for my GT5:P import :)
 
Does anyone know if I can go early tomorrow morning? Like 6am or a little later? Or do they open later?

Thankfully i won't have to go back to jury duty the rest of this week; i can play all week.

You guys on PS3 want to set up a small game just to explore the city together or something? Do that Fight Club thing people were talking about? :lol:
 
Where my 360 guys at! Well Best Buy doesn't open till 10AM so i'll be getting it after school.

I'll be very dissapointed if there isn't, unless the ranked guys online do tend to be alright.

Got mine in my hand, but still have four hours of work left. How will I survive...?
 
I got about 2 hours of play in tonight. Its much more realistic this time around. So much so, that you actually try not to hit people, as their weight is really felt when you run over them. I have yet to get a gun, so when I do, I'll critique the cover system. The driving is a lot more realistic as well, thus a lot more difficult. But its easy to get used to. Im too tired to continue, but tomorrow I shall press onward!
 
Picked up my copy this morning. Reminds me alot more of Driver this time around.

Haven't played it much, then had to come to work. It does look pretty awesome, the city is more dense, alot of the first island looks the same so its hard to find your way around to begin with. I'll probably turn the GPS off tho, as otherwise I'll just end up driving around watching the radar, rather than the road!

Multiplayer didnt strike me as amazing. For a 3rd person shooter I think I'd rather play stranglehold - although to be fair I hadn't even fired a gun in IV until I went online, so I got no idea what the targetting system was, got killed twice in a row, D'OH!

Soundtrack I haven't heard that much of yet, but no song has jumped out yet as being a fave..
