Have you noticed that some cars have voiced GPS instructions? Pretty cool detail. You can set whether it's on or off or for selected cars in the options menu.

Wow, Packie's last mission is so awesome.

Robbing a bank and running through the alleyways of Algonquin really felt like a movie. Losing the three stars was a pain though! The $250,000 payout was pretty sweet though.

Has anyone found a sniper rifle?

I'm waiting for my R18 copy so at the moment i've only done two or three missions so haven't opened up any new areas yet. I've been exploring and found some guns (an uzi, shotgun and a few handguns) and other weapons behind buildings etc... but i can't find a sniper rifle. I'm dying to climb up that big space needle looking thing and shoot some people in the head.

It's supposed to be like the movie Heat, or so I hear.

You'll work with one when you get to Bohan.

Anyways, had another choice tonight, and I finished off Playboy.

Hey, how do you climb DOWN ladders? I climbed the crane in Playboy's mission, but Niko won't go back down.

So this is my controls.

Um... WTH... That's trippy I see on the camera it says auto aiming but i'm in multiplayer right now and it doesn't give me that option. I'm losing my mind!

EDIT: Here's what I see in multiplayer.

You need to have subtitles on if you want to have any idea what Little Jacob's saying.
I find subtitles distracting, so if I missed something that was said, I just pause the game and read the chat log in the user menus. 👍

Auto-Aim can be disabled by the game host.

at last play-asia has been pleased to send my order. they have been delayed 4 days from official release date!

Go towards the ladder and stand in front of it. Then press the same button that's used to climb ladders.

The first time i encountered trying to climb back down a ladder, he wouldn't, so i just jumped off the building and ninja rolled. Last night during a mission i encountered the climbing down of a ladder and i stood at the top of it and pressed the Y button and bam, he went right down it no problem. I'm thinking the ladder climbing down business is glitchy, it seems kind of hit or miss in my game to where if he feels like it he will, if not you will run around the top of it for a bit before you can finally get down. The amount of time and money spent in this game really led me to believe that this game was going to be the prince of all games.

Well, rockstar let me down on that one. I'm not saying the game is bad, the game is a great game. But, its just the same ol' GTA crap right down to the pop up pixels. And the claims they put on it as far as "do anything" pretty much are crap. I was expecting to be able to go into buildings and all that great stuff for once, nope. I can go into certain ones that are relevant to my mission:ouch: And i actually like the fact that what you did in SA effected your body, you could get muscle's or you could just do what we do in real life and get fat:dopey:. I don't know why they got rid of that, and also the haircuts and beards and tatts. I was just going to comment on my ladder experience and i got carried away, sorry:)

I completely agree with that point. I remember before release reading somewhere that, although the map was physically smaller, most of the buildings could be entered and had multiple floors and things. Occasionally I'll drive around, see a store that's interesting, then pissed off I can't enter it.

Agreed. I'm slightly annoyed with the game because they went away from what made the last three games so great. I want car customisation, more character customisation, and a better environment to interact with. It seems like they sacrificed the gameplay from graphics, which is something I hate.

So far when i get bored i will just try to find glitches or just funny things to do in general. The first pic is one of the things ive found that entertains me. Driving cars into building:) The reaction of the people inside is pretty funny. They act scared and start yelling and things but they don't run out? Haha. The second and third pictures are of something i found while exploring around, it's at the fake statue of liberty statue. I don't know the point of it, but im sure someone will find out sometime and let people know. The plaques outside the door are just funny, no hidden content this way:) Anyone else found anything thats amusing to do in the city or found any easter eggs like this one? Sorry, i know the images are grainy, i didn't use a flash and thats the best they are going to look taking it with a point and shoot camera off the screen. I wish you could do screen shots, you figured you would be able to do it on a 360. Just a natural step to making it more like a pc, would be nice.

I think you'll find a lot of buildings are enter-able. You just have to find them. We're working on a map of such buildings on GTA Forums.

Think of GTA IV as the first step. There will be many more GTA's using this engine. You have to remember that Rockstar had to develop the new game engine and design content for the game at the same time. Now they have a base to work from they can concentrate on content in the next episodes.

lol i played now with my best buddy for like 20 hours almost non stop and we reached to 25%

game is just awesome. Freezes til now : 1 :D

For those wondering what the damage is like, I've done a little comparison of the same type of vehicle. The one on the right has been heavily hit/flipped by a truck on the freeway. Probably the best damage system I've seen... even better then any of the Driver games. 👍

Woah, you really put the damage on that sweet little thing:)
I found this while looking at the link about the guy finishing the game in under 20 mins, which is easy to figure out how he did that....

This is funny, i love c.o.

They did not sacrifice anything, they do have a better engine and many many things probably will be added via DLC. The game has plenty of stuff in it right now and is worth more than the $60 price. The multiplayer alone more than makes up the difference in what it doesn't have that San Andres does. Think of it as a reinvention of GTAIII. San Andreas was giant game and it did not cost them 100million to make, GTAIV did.

They hyped it up so much that I had high expectations of it, but it turned out of be just an ok game. I mean I enjoy it and it has a decent story it just won't keep my attention like GTAIII, VC, or SA did.

DLC is lame, I don't want a bunch of mirco transactions when I already paid $60 for the game.

I just feel like they went away from the GTA formula that worked so well in the past, there are a lot of things they could have added that would not have been overly hard such as the gym, minor car modifications, and more clothing options. Anytime a game company tries to focus on making it look good they leave out things that made it fun in the first place. I liked being able to take the character in SA and make him look a certain way or build up a huge garage of cars that I had tricked out. Gave me something to do after the main story was complete.

Like I said I don't hate the game, I just don't think it lived up to all the hype.

Compare GTA IV with GTA 3. Vice City and San Andreas are expansions to III. Things got better over time. The same will happen with this one and IV is light years ahead of where 3 was. And I'm sorry you got your expectation high based on hype. I just enjoy the series and I enjoy this one.

Just slowly going through some of the MP modes......It's not a clever thing to do as it's as adictive as the SP game with the right people! Anyway, tried 2 so far, car jack and hangmans noose. both are fantastic I won't spoil it for those who hav'nt tried them yet but there well worth a look in. Anyone else tried some of the other modes besides the normal death match stuff and free run?

GTA race is pretty awesome when everyone's car is totaled and you get a huge lead. Be careful on bridges and overpasses etc. You have to find your way back up, which can take a while. Team deathmatch is fun, but be sure to use the cover system or you really have no chance. Try to get a game in the prison.

Personally, I thought things like the gym were gimmicky. I like the new direction a lot, and I wish they would have went even farther from the old GTA formula - the new shooting mechanics are better, but still aren't as good as some games.

Everything else I feel is moving in the right direction - less gimmick, more meat.
