Yeah, I hated having to worry about eating to stay alive. I don't play a game for the boring task of finding a restaurant and picking a meal before doing a mission.

I bought the PS3 version.

One dumb question - where the hell is the multiplayer option?

Here's a question. Has anyone actually seen a bus moving? They're all over Star Junction, but I've yet to see one in traffic.

Ive seen a good bit of them, also the garbage trucks collecting garbage. Its pretty cool when you see them getting garbage or you hit a newspaper stand and papers go everywhere. Theres lots of little things that you really don't notice because they are just regular things in our lives. But they are very special in a video game world, like the letters and papers flying everywhere when you smash into a stand or letter blue box (that would be a federal offense by the way, my wife is a letter carrier:sly:).

Has anyone found some spawning spots for PCJ/NRG type bikes? They're very rare to see on the streets, whenever I see motorbikes it's usually those useless chopper Freeways. I love to explore the city on a PCJ, so I'd like to find some spots where I know I can pick one up.

Game is great so far... but not as good looking as I thought it would be. Close up is fine, but in the distance it's really fuzzy, but at least the pop-up isnt so bad. But close up things look real good, especially little touches like millions of bullet holes in your vehicle after a mass gunfight.

Multiplayer is really good fun too, very chaotic. Framerate has dropped quite a bit from time to time, but at least there's minimal lag, even when my connection was capped.

Controls are easy fairly easy to get used to IMO. I guess it's because I'm used to getting complicated controls in other games and adapting to them. I hate having to hold X to run though, I wish the pressure of the left stick will determine whether Nico runs or not like in the other GTAs.

We must setup a time to go online though, just us GTPers or something. 👍

Plus, Michelle is so easy to please - I got into her flat after some bowling and getting piss drunk (which is SO fun while driving!).

anyone been in a cab while drunk yet?

quite surreal when you look out the side window. Meanwhile Roman is in the front complaining about the radio station.

I think the blurriness of things in the backgrounds is partly deliberate to make them look out of focus as things in the distance tend to be. And maybe it helps performance to defocus the background to improve the frame rate.

I came across a Gametrailers video that compared the 360/PS3 versions and the only obvious difference that I saw was that the PS3 version seems to have gone for more of a soft focus look whereas the 360 version is a bit sharper. But both versions looked great in the video and I doubt if the overall experience is much different on either version.

I have never seen one moving either.

If you were to wait at a bus stop do they come?

For those wondering what the damage is like, I've done a little comparison of the same type of vehicle. The one on the right has been heavily hit/flipped by a truck on the freeway. Probably the best damage system I've seen... even better then any of the Driver games. 👍

Wow I have yet to do anything like that but from what I have done I must say my doubts of damage in GTA 4 are all cleared. I love how you can just scratch the car.

One really small thing in the game just shocked the hell out of me when i was playing. Has anyone noticed what happens before your cell phone rings and you are in the car listening to the radio? Just like in real life right before the cell rings it causes the interference with the radio signal and you hear that noise coming through the speakers for about 1.5-2.0 seconds(the noise can't really be explained in words). That just amazed me that they went to that much detail:dopey: Anyone else noticed that?

Yep it was a shock when I first heard it, I thought my real phone was about to ring or message.

I did the same, but regret it because he's so much more interesting than the other guy.

Not really. I read that:

If you kill Dwayne, Playboy will just tell you that he's not going to do business with you anymore because you "wasted his homie". At least you get Playboy's condo if you waste him.

Yes and I stole one and drove it around. It barely turns and can pretty much destroy any car that gets in it's way. It pulled up to a bus stop and I just pushed triangle and Niko stole it.

You can even crush your car so badly that a wheel or two gets stuck and just skids as you drive.

Ah good I wondered about that, I saw it in a official trailer, shows you how little carnage I have done :(.

(guilty of trying to avoid everything) :)

I distinctly remember a lot of hype about being able to take the bus, has anyone tried holding instead of hitting the enter vehicle button like you would with a cab?

finally drove a buss! yay

anyone else finding it irritating that when someone calls to do something, they always say one hour, which is not enough if you need to go through the whole city :(

Something i miss in this GTA is that for example. steal a taxi you cant use it as taxi to make money.

I find it annoying how they always manage to call during the worse possible moments. Like when you're trying to sprint very fast to catch up to a car in the distance, or when someone is running after you with a baseball bat.

I always seem to press X by accident, because I'm either trying to accelerate or sprint during the phone call. Then you have to cancel appointments.

Yes, I agree that an hour is an unfair amount of time. Roman called me up from the other side of town, and expected me to pick him up on time. I drove like a bat out of hell to be there, and he still complained about my lateness… sheesh!

Has anyone gotten full wanted-level stars? I steer clear of cops, but I got it by crossing the bridge into algonquin via the subway tracks when the bridge was still blocked off. The result was intense and hilarious.

I'm not sure if it was five or six stars but i had two big 'blackhawk' type army helicopters after me after crossing the big bridge (close to niko's first place). I shot one down into the water with the M4 before i got killed, IIRC there were 4 shooters in it instead of 2 like in the police helicopters.

If you are really far away and you don't think you can make it there just hail a cab. I have never had a problem getting there in plenty of time using a cab. Sometimes its not cheap, but i do just kill people and take theyre money:sly:

I've been having problems with loading the game - it would get through the load screen, then get stuck at the end of loading a mission.

I've narrowed it down to a problem with my "Profile" save, not the main save. What is this "Profile" save? It recreated itself once I loaded the game absolutely fine just now, and my stats were still there. So I'm not sure what purpose it has.

Anyone else think Roman's driver is hilarious?

I think the whole free cab thing is great, just being able to sit back and watch the surroundings, listen to the driver complaining and pressing the square button to make him put his foot down and speed through the city!

has anyone of you turned on SIX AXIS? I just love it how you can control the bike and the helicopter like that.
I dont know why, but how come you can manage everything in the game using SIXAXIS, just not driving a car?? thats kinda weird too me. Answer anybody?

Chris
