What are your opinions on the graphics since the latest patch?
A big improvement?
Beautiful?

Having a FHD TV, I thought that "enhanced resolution" will be useless since the game (probably) runs at constant 1080p60fps on my PS4 pro.
"Enhanced framerates" also didn't interest me this time (usually it's the main concern) bcz the game seems to have a good stable framerate.
So I chose "Enhanced Visuals" and I honestly dunno if I've seen any improvement. Seems I have weak eyes on graphical details, and that 1080p TV doesn't help much either!
Any video that really discern and show the differences between those 3 options?

I think it still looks fairly poor by modern ps4 pro standards compared to other games - if you’re expecting a big improvement I think you’ll be disappointed

I think grafics in ps4 pro is far to be poor
Since last patch the grafics are improved a lot in my opinion
I play with enhanced resolution and i like the grafics
Not a top notch but not so bad
And the game in this moment is in good direction

After doing some testing in the demo I concluded that Enhanced Resolution is the best for me gaming on a FHD 1080p set. The aliasing is less and edges are much sharper. Lines between panels on cars are much better and less jagged.

It's only a very soft bump in resolution but the supersampling definitely improves the image quality. It's probably going from 1440p down to 1080p so not much but better than a straight 1080p

The improved LOD in this patch was a welcome improvement.

I actually find the graphics very good. They're a lot more dynamic than GTS. I go back to GTS and it looks very flat in comparison. Clean...but flat. Come on, it has fantastic weather, seasons and day cycle, what's not to love!

Oh so it turned out that the option I ruled out first, enhanced resolution, since I have a 1080p TV is the best?! @Logsi
I should do some thorough testing I think.
Thanks for the heads-up man

Same. I ruled out resolution thinking it was for the 4K guys. Difference between visuals and framerate are mostly in shadow quality and aa. Will definitely do some testing under resolution today. I cannot stand stuttering or dropped frames though, so I won’t hold my breath.

Best place to look for differences is the lines between panels of the cars and instrument panel legibility.

Forgive me I'm on my phone so don't have the link handy, but I believe digital foundary did a video on the demo comparing the 3 modes. If I come across it I will post the link.

Much needed improvement. Too bad enhanced visuals is ruined by this white blur lines at the end of the screen.

Yeah the down sampling of the resolution mode makes a massive difference to the game. Enhanced Graphics mode looked quite a bit worse infact i couldt tell any difference of anything looking better? The jaggies in this mode was insane. Hopefully SMS go back to PCARS 1 AA for no.3.

I think enhanced visuals get more accurate shadows, reflections and general improvements in lighting effects. Also, higher count on grass, rubber pellets, gravel on track...

I'm still yet to find a bit of a "scientific" comparison between all three modes done by Digital Foundry or any similar professional team/channel.
I checked all and can't see bug difference.
Yet I race most of the time on my PS VR (in cinema/theater mode) and I wanna know which would transfer best in that, if any.

By any chance did you mean big difference?

DF haven't done one that I can find, but I did a basic comparison on the demo.

Yeah man I have watched your video, actually twice. You refer to some differences which I'm not able to see. I probably have a bad eye for those details.
That's why I wanted a more scientific video like those that go 300% zoom and show the texture or details or etc. Coz at my naked eye I still can't find any difference between the 3 modes!

There seems to be less pop up in the enhanced visual mode. And certainly less pop down - just look at the rear view mirror in @Scaff 's video where everything remains visible. In the other modes details in the mirror soon disappear which I always find distracting. Perhaps I should look where I'm going a bit more instead. :)

LOD transitions seem improved in all 3 modes as far as I can tell but perhaps slightly better in ehanced visuals mode (better detail and greater distance perhaps) - but it's hard to get a side by side comparison as you can't switch modes whilst at the track.

Hopefully in future patch we will see Pro get vastly improved mirrors as in some cars currently they are a bit of a mess. Some look great - is it perhaps that game renders the view with the same number of pixels regardless of the real size of the mirror?

For close up photo mode zoom, I have found on PS4 Pro that out of all three and playing in game on a 4K TV that Enhanced Resolution wins from me. Less jaggies than the other two and still a decent frame rate.

It still could do with another patch to sharpen up those jaggies though, it does tend to be with the lighting engine hits the car as you rotate the camera you can see the jaggies disappear.
