I know people are going to still be smarting about online play with GT4. I think PD tried as hard as they could. But sometimes, you don't always get what you want. Then also sometimes when you try to accomplish a task all to come up short, some things aren't meant to be. In the past on GTPlanet, I was like "online play should never be the most important aspect of a game unless the game was a sports game or a game MADE for multiplay." Examples include Super Smash Bros. Melee, Unreal Tournament, almost any sports game from Electronic Arts from Madden to NASCAR, the Unreal Championship/Tournament series, and dare I say... the HALO series. But you know what? I don't really have a bunch of people I know online in order to even warrant wanting to play against someone online. A LAN party would be fun, but again, I don't have any amigos who I can try to take down in Gran Turismo 4. So I'm not going to be totally bothered. Now, I'm not trying to totally be against the notion of online play, it's just that I don't really use it, and don't know any real good opponents I can play against.
I'm being truthfully honest and mellow. I'm not trying to be one-sided on this, because every argument has at least one side to it. Probably when I was into my first weeks and months on GTPlanet, I was probably playing Grand Theft Autos 3 and Vice City. I was playing "True Crime: Streets of LA." I was reacqainting myself to GT3. I did some Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3. I was primarily calm about all of this. And like a tiger ready to pounce, I'll await the moment when GT4 hits stores, and hope to have enough money to get my own copy next week, or as soon as I can.
As a bold prediction, I think this game will likely become a Greatest Hit in one year. If the fans REALLY couldn't wait, then at least 6 months, it will be $19.82 USD.
