Well, I would prefer if they (PD) oriented their efforts into adding MORE NEW CARS (not just race versions, but also normal cars, especially european, american and australian) and make them premium or even standard.

In my opinion that would expand gaming experience for players much more, than adding same cars, just a bit more polished and shiny. There are very few advantages of premium models over standard models and most of them are in the "visual" area, which has very little to do with driving.

I agree, interior modeling is very welcome and photomode feature looks awesome on premium models and not really that great in close-up photos of standard models. But at the end, it is a driving game and having the ability to drive more cars after every update would be the best possible solution.

The visual area obviously is very important for driving since it provides a lot, if not the most, information.
It's not just eye candy (which in itself isn't a bad thing in a videogame) and adding Premium versions of Standard cars would for many essentially mean new cars to drive, especially when you drive in cockpit view.
The recent addition of a basic low detail cockpit view on open top cars meant I drive cars like the Caterham much more and actually started using some Le Mans prototypes for the very first time.
The black frames on closed cars don't convince me in the slightest though, on a very small selection of cars without a large bonnet it might offer an alternative basic viewpoint, on most cars however it feels like driving a claustrophobic commercial van or cocoon.
If some classic or iconic Standard car are going to be added to future GT-games as well, they would've been remodelled anyway and a lot of 'duplicates' which are present as both Standard and Premium could become Premium-only.
So yes, the cars (as in the real life model) are already there, the experience they offer may however change fundamentally which makes them 'new additions' in a way.

I get your point, and you´re kind of right. But I have to disagree. What good is it to have new cars, if most of us a hoping to see our favorite standards recieve the most desired premium treatment?

As for if it helps or not, in my opinion it does help a lot! Specially in the immersion area. Having the cockpit view adds a whole new level of enjoyment, and in my case, it is the the view which I get the best times with. I like standards, but none of the views help much to driving. Chase cam is good for hearing the exhaust, hood view is not really a hood view(although is great for drifting), cockpit is terrible except for a few opened cars and bumper cam is probably the worst when it comes to judging corners(for me at least), and add the fact that nothing beats the sensation of seeing and feeling what you are driving.

Another thing would be that you can at least customize your premium models to give them your personal touch. Just being able to change the wheels and stuff makes you feel you own the car, and makes you feel proud when you´re driving it, or taking pictures of it. Standards, although good, they feel very restrictive, and somehow you feel like they are rental cars...

Plese note that this is in my most humble opinion.
