Well I guess GRiD just doesn't measure up to your immense talent. And a $300 ice car still isn't a rally team...
I'll almost definately get this game straight away, just for the cars and career mode. If the handling is a little different, I'll just get used to it. No big deal. I play games for fun, not just so I can sit on my couch and think 'OMG this is a hardcore simulation that will make me a better driver in real life!!!' It doesn't really work that way to be honest.
Any ideas when a track list will be released?

For being honest? I'm top 1000 in seasonals and GT Academy on GT.

I'm willing to accept that even I am slow compared to some, but I'm not about to buy a game which doesn't challenge me.

WOW top 1000 :D

I was on GRID2 and there was some very good racers on it, the GCs each week was very challenging at the top, and way more fun than GT6. I look forward to GRID AS 👍

According to GRID 1 leaderboards, I was one of the fastest drivers in the game. It was impossible to find AI or real drivers fast enough to keep up. The chances of finding an equivalent driver with only 12 spots are low.

In fact, I quickly gave up on GRID for that reason. Even with all assists turned off, extreme difficulty, helmet cam, and "pro mode" (0 flashbacks) enabled, I was still able to beat Ravenwest. I unlocked Ninja difficulty (a nice touch) and finally the AI were at least only 9 tenths a lap slower.

Finding anyone fast enough to learn from was impossible. So, I went back to Forza leagues - found out most of them were close, but still wanted more talent still.

Gran Turismo, with people like Jammy and Spurgy, is full of drivers who can actually keep up...

With only 12 slots, I won't find anyone to race with... unless my GT friends join the GAS fun, I won't waste my time.

Race me :D

You can buy ice racing cars for $300 here, with roll cages...

If I am just looking for pure fun, I play FPS games. I don't really play any games drunk, but I was dared to in GT6 - beat my personal best while drunk.

Again, though: unless this game gets excellent reviews and things, I'm not getting it. My gaming is 90% league racing now, and 10% rally car control lessons. :D I don't think anyone would disagree that the 2016 STi I'm saving for is more worth the money... :sly:

Unless people persuade me. @buck1, @Johnnypenso... That's your job, I suppose.

Sounds like you've written off the game already. Instead of waiting for reviews by other people who have their own opinions, why don't you play it for yourself first before deciding whether to get it or not? Surely a supremely talented racing driver like yourself would want to test drive a car first and not buy one based on someone elses, inferior opinion?

So I said to myself that I would pre order the Black Edition when I first get paid from work I got paid today and guess what I did.....now the countdown begins!

Irony. Someone makes a post saying he doesn't like your arrogant and show off attitude and your response is that you are top 1000 in Seasonals and GT Academy on GT and that a game which you've never played and hasn't been released to the public won't challenge you.

Yup, irony.

Well, yeah - I don't want to be disappointed. Unless someone gives me concrete proof that this game is worth it, I might not get it.

That said, I just got a job today - so I'm a swing-customer (like seeing voters) in that I can be persuaded or dissuaded with concrete facts or the lack there of.

Again, keep me posted, and I'll consider it. Ignore me otherwise... And I'll make my own decision with reviews.

You seriously seem under the impression we need the best racing driver of all time killing it online. for our sake you would be better to stay on GT and don't cause any casualties.

If this game is as good as Grid 1 with a tad more realism i can see it being alot of fun. I wish they would pick up real licenses and paint schemes though since theyve essentially got BTCC, Stock Car Brasil, and what looks to be like V8 Superstars so far.

I wonder if he has an iRacing account, surely someone so talented would do proper online racing.

As I said previously.... why should SOMEONE ELSE give you concrete proof of how good the game is? Surely YOU should play it YOURSELF and decide if YOU want to get it.

If you want concrete proof from someone else... fine.... I've been working on the game since day one (even before if you include pre-production).... I'll give you concrete proof... The game is awesome! Good enough?

Your opinion could be biased...

But surely seeing as noone else except a limited few have played the game and I'm offering you the info you want, then you'll be able to make your mind up?

Also, said vloggers/journalists who have played the game have all given their opinion aswell. So I'd suggest reading/watching those videos, seeing if the game is what you want it to be and make your decision.

I've said it's awesome, several other people who have played it have also said they enjoyed it and it was great fun and a massive improvement and a big step in the right direction. What more info do you want, other than playing it for yourself? surely YOU are the best person to judge if YOU want to get the game? Why rely on someone elses opinion?

After all, couldn't their opinion be biased aswell depending on what kind of games they like?

I'm truely at a loss dude.

Is a demo out of the question? Because personally, I'm interested in the game but I'm definitely not gonna buy it without having played it first. It's unlikely I'll get to play it at a mate's place, so why no releasing a simple demo with two cars and one race or something like that? I think many people that dislike Codies record with Grid, specially after Grid 2, could see this as a proof of the game being much improved and could be turned into "believers" in a matter of minutes and that = sales and hype.

I'm afraid I honestly couldn't answer that question. I'm part of the dev team only. You'd need to ask the community team on our facebook, twitter or codemasters forums. Sorry I can't be of more help :(

It's alright 👍. How about just mentioning it to the other devs while having a cup of coffee? Just a casual "Hey guys, what if we did a demo?"

I'm pretty sure it's been discussed already and decided seeing how the game is to be released shortly. What they decided I have no idea but rest assured if there's going to be a demo it's in the works.

Thread has now been derailed....
Naaaah, just a temporary aberration. With any unreleased game you always get at least two illogical objections in spite of all evidence to the contrary.

1. I played [insert previous version here] and it sucked therefore this brand new one will suck.
2. The game hasn't hit the shelves but I watched a replay and saw [insert action here] therefore the game is unrealistic and it sucks.

I was operating under the assumption that there wouldn't be a public demo. So far, I haven't seen any videos of the AI on its most difficult setting, either. Or, at least, I hope that's not it..

As usual @ITCC_Andrew is posting nonsense around. It's pretty foolish, no stupid in fact to write off a game before it has even been played or as I am sure, even 100% completed. The whole 12 player online thing doesn't fuss me. GT Servers are known for being unreliable and having less people ensures a more stable reliable server. If you find a room of "punks and jerks" then that's you having found it. They exist on any game. If they are in a room you either 1: kick if possible 2: Put up or 3: Leave. It's not exactly a hard option. This is as @Imari said same in every game. Heck in a game like GT6 it is worse, and harder to find a clean room.

Also as @anim8r_uk says it is about memory - GRID uses a physics engine that allows things GT does not. Roll overs, cars leaving the ground, damage, debris, parts flying off - these all eat up valuable memory. When you are online as well, say two cars collide and a rear bumper flies off and hits someones windshield - this has to be show and factored in real time across all players screens.

Oh and top 1000? You finished in 6555th place in Round 1 of this years GT Academy. Bit of a difference to what you claim.

On topic for GAS - Does anyone know if endurance races will be featured?
