Of course they want to keep the 3+ to appeal to as many people as possible. As for showing the driver getting hurt, it's the fact they could be hurt that matters, not whether it's depicted. Plus manufacturers just don't want to see their cars on fire in general, it's not good for their image. Accidents happen and cars do catch fire but in a virtual world they would much rather they don't, since it's under control unlike the real world.

It wasn't there yesterday that's why I mentioned it.

I can't comment on whether it was there yesterday, but if they added it after the initial post then it's cool for Codies to roll out more cars before release!

God damn, it's like I'm on some kind of anti-GTPlanet where questions are answered and the the developer/customer relationship flourishes.

Harsh, but fair.

Thumbs up to anyone who gets the reference.

This isn't "that" uncommon (developer responding to end users) in the PC world. Kunos (AC), SMS (pCARS), Reiza Studios (GSC), SimBin (R3R/DTM). I've had personal responses from SimBin, Reiza, and SMS. GT Planet is a great resource but the namesake it's based on has built a huge following without going the extra mile for their fans, the fans can't expect more as they have accepted that for years.

I'm also a fan of SimBin, so i know both sides of the coin.

However, I enjoy the popularity of PD games, for enabling me to run my leagues. The interest I take in other studios is mainly a for-fun against AI affair, so I don't expect much outside of good AI. That was my primary concern with this game, and it hopefully seems to be acceptable.

So, to CM, good job. :)

Really looking forward to this game now, track and car list look great and with the improved physics it should be great fun. Been back on GRID2 this week and managed to get top spot on RED BULL SOUTH, (great track) forgot how much fun the GCs are on racenet.. 👍

Roll on AS

Do we have any information on console performances yet? It's the only thing that keeps me from pre-ordering.

Judging from teh YouTubes videos (and I may be entirely wrong as usual :dunce:) you choose a discipline to race in for that season.

Yeah, you choose a discipline and team. You then complete that season with that team in that discipline (Openwheelers with Razor Motorsport). You then have team and sponsor objectives to meet etc. When the season is finished, you can either continue in that discipline for season 2 (where you may be offered a drive from another team) or if you want, you can try your hand at a new discipline (endurance etc) - starting at season 1 for that discipline.

So when you switch disciplines, does your progress in the previous discipline get reset? If not, how many disciplines can you race in at a time?

No.. you can do season 2 in touring cars, then go off and do endurance for 1 season. When you come back to touring cars, you'll be in season 3 (or where you left off). You can only race in 1 discipline at a time, but when that season is finished, you can try another discipline. Seasons won't get reset to season 1 if you decide to try something else then go back.

Looking forward to play the carreer but I have to say that the online part looks very attractive this time because you can race for a club and you can race with your own livery. You drive to win money and buy/maintain your cars.

All in all, very exciting stuff :D

Question: start offline career to race for teams or online career to race with your own team? Hmmmm ......

How many more sleeps??

Can't wait until the end of this month, really want to get online with those touring cars!

Can't remember if it has been discussed yet or not, but is anyone planning on creating a GTP racing team with a special livery? If so then I'm in!

I'd be up for that, but only if the GTP guys were committed to fairplay and gentlemanly behaviour. Cue the laugh track:lol::lol:

I race hard but I race fair. I don't block or force people off the track, I don't divebomb and use people as a guardrail, it's just not my style. I also don't go online swearing up a storm or behaving like a child. If the GTP boys (and girls) are committed to race hard but fair I'd be all up for that. A lot of it will depend on how the game shakes out. I'm hoping the driver rating system will separate the wheat from the chaff fairly quickly and we can get down to some serious racing a month or two in. I'm also not sure if I'll go with the PC version of the game. I would really have liked to see a demo so I could test it out before hand to see what it looks like on either system.

Any news on the points system (if there is a points system)

I'll have to round up these articles videos and get to reading and watching.

👍👍👍

The only remark I have is that the 2 chase cams are too low. It's very hard to judge how far the opponents are in front of you. Would have liked that it was a bit higher so that I could just see what is happening in front of the car!

The cockpitview without a wheel will propably be my prefered view.

Ford GT looks attractive to drive and I am sure it's a lot of fun on the street courses as well. Anyone notice that there is no tirewear  even when it is an endurance discipline.
