Seems everywhere i look here in Spain they are only selling the black edition :irked:
Nice; for once you can get a game at a bargain price and they choose to ignore it and sell it's limited edition brother only...

Guess i'll have to order from good old Britannia then.

They're the same price everywhere as far as I know, at least it is in NA.

I had my doubts. But, indeed, let's put it this way: no one on here is going to beat Ravenwest on very hard difficulty.

Not in the starting teams anyway. Though I did beat them in the first open wheel race driving for Razer Motorsports. Got past them in the first corner and held it.

Still undecided on whether I should get the PS3 version or PC version... decisions.
If your PC can run it at full resolution, get the PC version. The console is ok, PS3 and all, but I'll get the PC version in a month or so in addition to the PS3 version I already have.

Yeah I got the PC version. But now I'm trying to find out how to set it to 1080p!

It can be done... no easily...but definately doable :D

You said you don't get the progression? Anything I can help with?
I've won 3 times now...very hard AI...all aids off. Qualified for one pole.

Looks like you better start practicing.:sly:

I'm trying to not come off as condescending anymore in this thread.

But, I could also win on the very hard AI. It would be very hard, though. So, let's see how well I do...

Yeah, I restarted my career after screwing something up and I won the first two races in Touring with the Razer Focus. I was a bit dirty with ol' Nate though, but I don't care because it's Ravenwest.

Is there something I missed about not being able to qualify in Open Wheel? Both events now in the Formula C have had the computer drive my qualifying laps. Which blows hard because I have been faster than the pole sitter in practice both times. :banghead:

You're not off to a good start:lol:

Qualifying does get pretty annoying. I have completely outpaced the ai in every sector on very hard with a 1 sec lead once yet every time i finish ive always been knocked off by a tenth, seems impossible to get pole.

McLaren MP4/12C GT3!

V8 Supercars!

Super Utes!

Brazilian Stock cars! (Or whatever they're called.)

'Dat track list!

I just need to figure out a good setting for the T500RS and I will be even happier. Also, what exactly are the Racenet Challenges? Are they kinda like seasonal events in GT?

It's completely dependent on your PC/Monitor/Graphics card on PC. You can have Higher than 1080p if your system lets you.

That doesn't sound right...... You entered Qualifying and the AI took control? Or did it just skip qualifying?

Yup I just sat there and watched it drive three slow laps for me. I had full control of the camera and thats it, i even tried resetting the car thru the pause menu. Mind you this is season 2 for me and everything worked fine the first go around.

hmmm.... very strange. That's not supposed to happen by the way :P

I'll pass it onto the design team. Hope you get it sorted.

How about a few more options for steering? Some sliders along the lines of the F1 games would be nice.

I've had maybe 30 races and I have one pole..by about a tenth and it was on Brands Hatch a track I know very well. Usually I'm 3rd to 6th in Touring Cars and the first race is very difficult to pass anyone. If I go from 6th to 4th I feel like I've just won the Indy 500 because I'm on the edge the whole time trying to keep up my momentum, hit my markers and keep track of where everyone is around me.

As Andrew says, more options are there, just not well marked. The menus and descriptions are not the best I've ever seen, they should have little popup descriptions for everything.

That happens to me all the time too. At the Sepang short reverse track in the beginning, many times I've had a >1 second lead at the beginning of the final sector, and I somehow lose all of that by the finish. The final sector is just one corner and a straight!

As others have said, they are available. But I do find it odd that Codemasters seems to change the way these settings work with every game. They never work the same in any two of their games. In the F1 games, settings that feel good for one game will completely not work for another. In GRID Autosport, even the linearity scale is completely different. In the F1 games we're used to it being scaled in %, but in this game it goes from -10 to 10.

They should really add a description of what each setting does. Like just have a text description displayed on the bottom or on the side when the setting is highlighted. That can't be hard to do. @anim8r_uk maybe you can suggest this to them for future games.

For those guys and girls who get the game tomorrow, Have a lot of fun 👍:)

I can't wait, been teasing myself by watching all the latest vids on YouTube and reading the reviews and impressions that you guys that already have the game have given.

Picking up my copy tomorrow lunch time and the rest of the day at work will be unbearable!

Got a feeling that I'll be going to bed in the early hours of Saturday morning...

I cant wait either, ill be outside Game just before they open (they have already sent me a text to say its there for me), and then ill play for maybe 3 or 4 hours before work in the afternoon..

Finally got this game yesterday. Played all 5 disciplines to level 3 offline to get a taster of each.

The physics are a mixed bag for me. The sense of weight is better, but there is still that little characteristic floatiness you get with CM games. Unfortunately, everything understeers badly now. In Grid 2, if the rear wheels get more than 10 degree slip angle it instantly breaks loose. In GAS, if the front wheels get more than 10 degree you just plough on straight ahead. If anything, the understeer is even less progressive than in Grid 2. You can still get oversteer if you're not careful with throttle, but Grid 2's snap oversteer is gone, so it's more manageable. Going round a corner sideways definitely slows you down though, which is good. For drifting they have a second set of physics which allows you to hold a slide. It does its job, but again the front end still has too much understeer (it feels eerily similar to using Comfort Hards in GT). ABS off is drivable, but there is not a lot of progression to let you know when the wheels would lock, so you just end up pumping the brakes like crazy instead of feeling it. One thing I like is going to a gravel trap sideways will flip you car - nice touch. Overall, I would say the physics are an improvement over Grid 2, but it's still not as intuitive as Grid 1. It seems like they went too far to the other side of the spectrum and added too much rear grip. I don't know if it's a limitation of the Ego engine, but I hope CM completely reworks their physics engine for next gen.

I did the disciplines in order of Street>Tuner>Touring>Endurance>Open, and the higher downforce cars feel a bit better, but the annoying understeer is still there. Oddly enough in Endurance when my rear tires got really bad towards the end the cars started feeling like Grid 2. So I ended up going faster with worn tires

I tried a wheel (Logitech G25) and it's definitely playable with it, but the chronic understeer means the gamepad is more enjoyable to use since you're not trying to crank the wheel lock to lock every corner. Feedback is as numb as always with CM games unfortunately. Tried increasing wheel strength/weight/etc but all it does is increase resistance. There is not much meaningful feedback of how the car is behaving. Rumble strips are a killer though - unlike in GT where you hardly feel anything. I tried both multiturn on/off (basically choosing 900/200 degree steering), but neither feels right. It's odd because Dirt 2/3 works great with wheels. Probably because on dirt you don't need that much steering precision so the vague feedback is passable.

The rest of the game is as expected. It's Grid 2 v2.0. The new content is welcome but 80% of the game feels "been there done that". Mont Tremblant and Autopolis are definitely the best additions 👍 Adding night time to most of the real world tracks is great 👍 Drifting is quite fun but repeating the same thing 8 times in a row gets tedious IMO. Career mode seems longer then in Grid 2, but still doesn't have the feel of racing through a season like Grid 1 does. Add to that you're not racing for your own team and it feels a bit shallow. I like the teammate order feature though. You're driving and doing B-spec at the same time :D And unlike GT5, the orders actually works. For a reversed grid Touring race I stayed behind my teammate and watched him speed up on "Push", and divebomb when on "Attack". He actually held up cars for me on "Defend". Pretty cool feature 👍

Haven't tried online yet except the Racenet challenges. The Demo Derby race Gold/Platinum is impossible to get. They did this a few times in Grid 2 where the Gold time was unattainable, so I hope CM pays more attention and actually QA the times this time round. Apparently not 👎 The paycheck seems to be increased though. Good thing, since you need to pay for repairs now.

The menus are very minimalist, it's quite clear that GAS is rushed. I liked the garage home background in Grid1/2/Dirt2, but since you're not running your own team it probably makes sense that it's gone. The menu music is amazing as always with Codemasters 👍 Hopefully they release the official soundtrack like they did with Grid 2 and F1 2010-2012. The loading times are pretty long though - again probably a sign that development is rushed and they haven't had a chance to optimize certain things.

Overall, I'd say that the concept behind GAS is an improvement over Grid 2, but the execution is marred by its short development time. On its own it's a pretty good game, but it certainly still doesn't live up to the original Grid. Unless you're a die hard CM/Grid fan I might give this a pass and wait to see what CM has to offer on next gen.

Hopefully with something other than the Ego engine.

Qualifying is definitely broken...
Qualifying works fine. What's happening is other people are also qualifying so when you are up 3/10ths in the last sector and end up 6/10ths down at the line, it means someone completed a lap just ahead of you and it updated before you hit the line. The Ravenwest boys save their best lap for last just to give you false hope.
