Yup thanks to this game i'm in no rush to go out and open my wallet for a next gen console. It will take care of my racing fix for more than a year, whilst i got lot's of other games for current gen that i hardly even touched (also own a 360).

Regarding Devs continuing to focus on these formats; i doubt they will. Consider this year to be the last and from 2015 onwards all focus will be on next gen for new games.

Really? Games will stop coming out on the X360?

Oh well, I got a lengthy back log to get through anyway.

I must say the online for grid Autosports is a lot better than gt6 it keeps me more entertained. I guess it's because its more arcade style. Also the levelling up system is good will take me a while to level up a certain discipline.

Whoa...pump the brakes there buddy! I wouldn't exactly call GAS an arcade game. It keeps things interesting while not venturing deep into sim waters, but an arcade game it is not.

That's good to know. Doesn't bother me all that much. I might get some older never before played games like Dishonored or one of the Splinter Cell games.

Can you recommend some good racing titles apart from Forza, Race Pro or Codies games? *Already got Dirt 3 and GAS, all I need really*

Yeah there's tons of games which are excellent and you could pick up at bargain prices later on. I still haven't gotten down to playing The last of us, or the Uncharted trilogy even. Thing is in the old days you were always wanting games to become more realistic with each new console generation, but this gen already set a great standard for graphics + gameplay so that the jump to next gen (although graphically better), wouldn't make that much of a difference i think.

You pretty much summed all the good ones up there :)

1st impression was .. these wheel settings need changing! - then once that was worked out.. I was racing and having fun. I have custom difficulty with no assists and med AI. First few races in Touring cars I was 1st or 2nd easy.. so I was about to turn it up to hard then tried street cars and was getting bashed around and struggled - then had to quit to go to work and got a DNF..

Anyways, fun stuff, great sounds, and I want to play more.

Edit:- Oops ment to post this in the 1st impression thread.. oh well.

Yeah I don't think we're going to see as much of a difference as we did goin' from the Xbox to X360 or PS2 to 3.

I remember how huge the jumps were from the Mega Drive and SNES to PS 1, 2, 3 and everything in between!

It'll keep you busy for quite a while. There's plenty of racing to do, lots of events to win. The racing and adrenaline never let up. Enjoy!

I like the sounds too, wish it didn't go half silent on the down revs. This didn't used to happen in GRID II or Dirt 3.

Annyyyhooo...

Just getting to know Mont Tremblant, i was wondering; how many people have had a heavy crash in that blind corner uphill after the bridge? If you have no clue were you are you are bound to have a heavy shunt into the barriers there.

Must be pretty dangerous for beginners in real life also.

I'm always braking too early for that corner (just being cautious), and too late for the last one. But otherwise it's a good track with that sweeping first corner over the crest being more of a problem thinking its flat out

Insider knowledge: Canadian motorsports rules require that there be a driver's meeting before every event. The driver's meetings will always include mention of hazardous zones of circuit, except in courses where there are no hazardous corners... Like autocross, or Cayuga/Toronto Motorsports Park.

Wednesday, I have the day off of work. Anyone want to race?

Hope they are paying attention in class then! :dopey:

Mont Tremblant is a crazy track. No, haven't crashed yet, I drive a bit too carefully I guess. Have yet to really push a car there. What a brilliant track collection GAS has. Take heed Forza!

I'm loving this game so far! Drifting is so fun when you don't have to worry about realism at all.
If anyone wants to drift with me add me up! OHH_OUI

I'm loving the game so far! My only issue so far is that the cars online degrade far too fast! I do less than 100 miles and they need serious repairs every single race, even when im driving clean. Other than that the game is sweet!

Does anyone else hate how upshifting mid corner instantly throws the back end out? I use short shifting a lot in GT to control wheelspin but in GAS it just does the opposite. It's fine when I'm driving normally but in the heat of battle sometimes I forget and it totally ruins my race.

Hmm, I haven't noticed this. Although upshifting mid-corner gives you more grip, makes the car slightly prone to sliding, but the back shouldn't slide out like you're describing. Will put this to test and get back to you. Are you referring to front-engine cars only?

I use automatic, but I have noticed something like this in San Francisco. I thought it was a glitch because I was getting pitched into a spin without reason or warning, but I couldn't get it to happen consistently
