Im gona skip Driveclub because GRID AS is that good

pcars is the only reason to get a PS4, in my opinion..
I'm in no hurry for PCARS now thanks to GAS. PCARS is shaping up like THE racing game that racing fans have always been asking for, but didn't really have in such a complete way on consoles so far, and here comes Codies basically sneaking in between and giving us something funded on the same principles as what PCARS will offer, but earlier :D

Spot on mate 👍

I'm not even at all interested in Driveclub anymore. I was very interested when the game was announced, but when I saw that it was all racing on normal roads my interest died completely. Now I just want a PS4 for PCARS and Morpheus.

Can't get enough of the particle effects. Bits of tyres marbling off! Woah.

Captured some shots off-screen using my phone.

Will put some of the better ones on my flickr.

Have any of you guys got the Black Edition Dlc to work? I've downloaded it (20 or so mb) but no special liveries or additional sponsor objectives appear. Am I missing something? :dunce: Ps3 version

Same here, contacted Sony support and yet to receive a reply. Anyone else had this issue or found a solution?

Thanks in advance.

@anim8r_uk I've been playing through, and this really seems to be a huge improvement over Grid 2. The racing, the physics, and especially the graphics and surroundings. Quite often I've crashed because I've been looking at stuff going on in the background.

It may not be realistic but damn it gives much more exciting, thrilling racing than Gran Turismo does.

No not VG Charts but the official GFK charts. As posted above. Also im not intent on creating a bad vibe at all i think Codies should take the positive out of this and move on away from Grid as while Grid was a good game joe public have clearly lost interest in it.

Driveclub & Horizon 2 are on the way which i think will sell alot on XO & PS4, You guys have to move on rather than beating a dead horse platform and ip wise and most importantly for you's...business wise.

@anim8r_uk Please do not listen to this guy. You guys got a GOOD thing going, and you know it mayeeennn!

Can't wait to see the next GA game. Keep it up Codies! :bowdown:

That was the plan :D Glad it worked :D

Have you contacted Sony support or Codemasters support? I'd suggest Codemasters support if you haven't already tried.

I'm loving some of the street circuits, especially in Paris and Barcelona. Memorial Gate and Champs-Elysee in particular are a lot of fun.
Same here, i guess that's what GRID2 should have been. They are beautifully made (for example i find them a lot prettier and atmospheric than GT's street circuits), it's also a good thing there aren't constant 90 degree corners or roundabouts and as such the layouts are fun to race.

I'm kind of getting tired of all the people online they run you off the track. A guy pushed me off the track when i had first i overtook three cars on the last lap and last corner and some guy runs into me and spins out me staying on the track called me a ****head I got the position I should of had in the first place any way.

I was getting a bit frustrated with Street, since I found the Hot Hatch and Coupe classes to be a little underpowered and too similar - but then I discovered the Performance class, and they're a lot of fun.

Isn't it like this in every online racing game? There should be a strict penalty and kick-off/disqualification system in place.

You got to check the colour code of people in the room to know how much damage they have caused, if they have orange and (red?) you better avoid them as they are carnage seekers.
Don't play in online rooms myself but that's the way you can filter your rooms and look for good folk. I'm sure you can also kick someone if needed no?

Oh so thats what that means I thought it was connection status. So white means good? Red means bad Ive seen some funny lagging though. I have been in good lobby's where we would say sorry and hand the spot back but some are just annoying. Guess its luck of the draw reall you've still got a while of online left need to reach 250 in total for the gold trophy :(.

Yup... white is the best Impact Rating...

White = Excellent
Green = Good
Yellow = Average
Orange = A bit 'crashy'
Red = DANGER to everyone around them! :D:D:D:D

Touring Car Legends Pack :D

But maybe we should just give up as we clearly don't know what we're doing....... :P

Imagine GAS with pit stops, doing the Le Mans 24h, full day and night cycle plus weather... :drool::bowdown:

Hear, hear. Grid 1 Le Mans was beautiful but the lack of pitting made anything over an hour a little silly. Weather is of course a whole other set of issues. I can live with or without proper endurance racing and necessary pit stops. They'd be great but so would proper cockpits, sensible rivals, and an engineer that tells you more useful things than "your rival is somewhere between 9th and 15th."

I mainly just wish there was some sort of pitting so you could resolve at least some of the issues damage can cause. I'd gladly drive a car around for the whole race trying to claw back a handful of important championship points after an early incident, but no way in hell am I going to drag around a car with a blown tire for 25 minutes just to finish 5 laps down(and who knows what might happen if you do finish laps down, a lot of games don't get that right). I'll just restart or quit and take 0 points.

Making the pitting work well could of course be a lot of work and might not be worth it to the decision-makers. Anybody who played F1 2010 knows there is a certain level of competency and problem-finding-and-solving required to make it passable.

I only just yesterday discovered that you have to properly manage your throttle on gearshifts to avoid damage to the gearbox even without a clutch. Explains why I was having some trouble in certain corners as well. It's a nice touch but maybe should have been optional(and perhaps explained) as I can see it frustrating some gamers who otherwise could handle manual shifting. I should have noticed earlier, I just didn't expect it. Doing it correctly hasn't seemed to hurt my laptimes like it did in Race Driver 3(why is that still the only console game I've played with a clutch for gamepads and/or wheels without H-pattern?), but then again I haven't yet finished a whole 5X race without at least doing minor damage to it. At least minor damage doesn't seem to cause too much trouble.

@anim8r_uk

Think it's sorted, the Merc is now showing in the Grand Tourer (street) class. Although buying it with credits again seems a bit of a ball ache. The liveries are now available too.

Anyone else struggling, might be worth downloading the content again.

Cheers.

Edit: Also with the touring car pack you've just announced and Project Cars announcing their wheel list for PS4 today (shocking!!) it's a good day for Codemasters 👍

Ok, maybe I'll try putting in the code for the DLC now. I was a bit hesitant since people were having problems, plus I kinda forgot on account of being too busy playing the game.

I drove open wheel for the first time yesterday, and they were much better behaved. Only a few minor bumps even from the backmarkers(with one exception, so it goes). I may have been the most reckless driver in at least one of my races. So they do drive differently in different disciplines, well done on that front.

Decent lapping behavior too, for the most part. My teammate did block Ravenwest really badly however when I had already closed to within a few seconds of them late after some other traffic held them up a little. Not sure what that was about. Got me a 2nd I didn't really deserve(although the pass happened a bit later). I had him on either Balanced or Push as I do 99% of the time. He behaved normally the other times he got lapped.

To be fair to ProjectCARS and SMS.... it's the consoles that don't support the wheels... not the game. If the consoles supported them, I'm pretty sure the game would too :)
