So err problem. I've created my RaceNet team, got the livery ingame on my cars... messages appear at bottom about "You are ranked #1 in your team" but when I go online it is not showing me as part of the team, with the initials in brackets (eg: [GTP])..

Help please?

Ha finished the touring car and endurance events now onto the open wheel events. Seems like there is always a spin out somewhere and the Ai piles up giving me an easy win. Enjoying the game had it for 3 weeks and still going through the career the game is very long.

You have to set a livery as a Racenet Club livery and whilst using it the tags will appear. I hope that helps?

That fixes it! I was using just the livery saved, not it under the "Racenet Club Livery" banner.

So err Furi Autosports club looking for members by the way :)

True. I'm looking forward to the new content. And I will pay accordingly if I feel it's worth my money. Honestly, you could just put existing assets into the disc, and bundle all new stuff in one big DLC and price it higher. Same revenue, but it'll give you a much better image 👍

That's good to hear.... I think the new DLC stuff is great :)

There may have been licensing issues that stopped us having certain cars on disc.... I'm not sure on those things.... not my area, but it may not always be the the choices of CM, but the license holders themselves.

I appreciate where you're coming from though.

It's moments like this that reminds me why Polyphony is amazing. Sure they never listen to fans or communicate properly. And their AI and sounds are from the 90s. But all cars and tracks they have from previous games will always be in the next one from Day 1. DLCs are always things that they couldn't include at launch because they haven't finished making them. And we have been getting FREE DLCs for 6 months so far. And people still complain that we are not getting enough updates blah blah blah...
I agree with these fairground tricks devs use by having content ready, but selling it afterwards as DLC. We as customers can't possibly know if it was made during the game's development or was genuinly created after release and they take advantage of that. It's dishonest and it has to stop.
Luckily when i saw that codies only seem to charge 3 bucks for 3 cars, at least the price isn't exaggerated, albeit that the this first pack is a bit lame to say the least.

Yes PD deserves praise for not doing this so far, but you could just a easily call it a fairground trick to copy paste material from previous games and even previous console generations, and then bragging about car/track counts for your new game; as it also consist of a sneaky trick which most buyers don't even realise when purchasing the game.

Grid 2 is not Grid Autosport.

That's not a good enough excuse to charge for recycled content. It's not like these cars were specially created for GRID Autosport, the assets were already there. As Mister Dog points out, this is a dishonest tactic.

Codemasters must realise what impact DLC has on their reputation. Yes, it may be optional, but gamers will always judge the trustworthiness of a developer based on what content they charge for. If they just recycle assets from old games, they are going to receive a lot of negative comments. I actually hope that doesn't happen because Codemasters do produce quality games and GRID Autosport is one of the best racers out there. Codies just need to think of intelligent ways to expand the game's content.

Well Forza 5 for example also keeps you charging for the same old content since Forza 2 so nothing new to see this happening at Codies. I just don't understand people who buy a season pass because yes you get all the DLC cheaper but in the end you pay more because 50% of the content you don't use.

Same for GT5 and GT6. A lot of recycled content and still you are being charged with 60€ to buy the game. It's the same dishonest tactics imo.

Just buy what you really want to have. I am no fan of DLC either and paying for content that was already in other games of the same producer is dishonest. However in the end it's "YOU" who decides to spend the money or not.

Currently I only bought DLC for Rocksmith 2014 because of the songs I want to learn to play. I see it as study material with real value for money. For GAS I maybe interested in the Classic Touring Pack but then it really has to please me on all fronts.

Bref...GAS came at a reduced priced and the game is great value for money! It stands on it's own even without all the DLC that is going to be released.

@doblocruiser agreed, we just don't buy it and that's that, GAS itself is a great game and original enough. Also about the FM5 DLC; yes lot's of it was already in the series before but the difference is every car was build up from scratch again to represent a next gen version of it's former self (detail is astonishing), so T10 do have a valid excuse.

I'm realising that force feedback might be called vibration in this game, yes? That's a bit odd.

A persistent problem is still going to be my pedals - of the CST Performance variety. Brake seems normal (even though when I map it, it appears blank on screen), I can't map anything to the accelerator pedal but in game the pedal gives a tiny, tiny bit of input. If I map the accelerator as a function to the clutch pedal, I get more response, but still not full response (maybe 3/4 of what it should be). Have never had this before and I don't know how to sort it.

Those five free garage slots will come in handy especially with the RaceNet payout. :D

And for anyone who hasn't got the DLC yet, the F1 GTR is an GT Group 1 Endurance car, and both the Aston and Mercedes are GT Street cars.

While I do agree with you.

But the Codies don't exactly have the best DLC choices. But atleast it's not the level of Forza Horizon's Season Pass. Turn10 exclaimed new cars for six months. It was a FM4 recycle-fest. Rally Expansion pack? Retexture.

We will see how the other two stand-alone DLC packs reveal themselves. I was hoping they'd take the direction they did with Dirt3, because TBH. Was simply fantastic and refreshing the experience.

I haven't tried yet but I had a similar problem with the Black Edition content

Cured that by clearing the 360's cache, give that a try 👍

Thanks, but no luck after clearing the cache. Still won't download here in the US, although some people are reporting it's fixed elsewhere.

Since my former employer is apparently paying me holiday compensation this friday, I'm now seriously thinking about picking GAS up for the PS3 - although not a fan of the upcoming DLC fest nor the XP Boost Pack. Anyway, I've been looking at a lot of PS3 gameplay footage lately and the screen tearing at the top half of the screen is very, very distracting, almost nauseating. It also seem to be a common complaint and I'm therefore wondering if there are any plans to improve performance on the consoles, @anim8r_uk?

I'm very picky about framerate and screen tearing and I, for one, would gladly trade to empty stands, no crowds if it meant a smoother gameplay. Maybe an option to turn off certain effects if they impact the performance of the game as well.

Happens sometimes when there's a lot happening on screen, but i don't really mind as the experience is top notch.
If you are really, really anal about it, yes you will get annoyed but for the blast this game is on track, i would put some water in your wine as the graphics are really good for PS3 and there's a lot happening around the tracks, so some sacrifices have to be made and occasional screen tearing is one of them.

I'm guessing the Sprint Pack will bring back Touge. Would be interesting to see which car class they use for it though - Street or Tuner?

I just raced in Paris and crashed because I was looking at the buildings , it looks so good it makes me wish GAS had a free roam mode. I had this game for a while now, and this are the things that keep me surprising. Well done CM 👍

Off: Why companies don't make a free roam game with the handling and physics of a sim. Something like TDU2 with realistic traffic, like Driver:San Francisco or City Car Driving, and GT or even GAS physics. A driving game, no serious racing (like GAS) or running away from the cops (like NFS)......ok it looks like I got a little bit carried away with my idea :O.
^ @anim8r_uk talk with the guys at CM and tell them you have a mad idea for a game, you might get a raise :p

I'm still strongly considering getting it as I know I could get used to it, but I really wish more developers would offer options in cases such as this. I'm even more allergic to framerate drops, but I rarely noticed any during racing, so that's good.

Tbh honest, I don't even notice any screen tearing when racing on PS3.... it's really not something that stands out to me at all. Maybe I'm just not a sensitive to those kinda of things.

It's like when people compare a PS3 game with Xbox..... sometimes I can't even tell the difference, but others can find 100s of things..... maybe it's because I work with the systems and see them everyday, I have a more realistic idea of what to expect with the tech/rendering/hardware involved.

It does depend on your own perseption I guess, but I think that when you're inthe middle of the pack, rubbiung bodywork and fighting for that overtake, you probably wouldn't even notice :D

Yeah, it usually all comes down to sensitivity depending on how noticeable it actually is. For instance, reactions to F1 2011 on the PS3 versus the XBOX 360 version on the previous CM forums were absolutely hilarious to read and a perfect example of what you're describing.

As long as it doesn't go into slide-show territory a'la GT6 (Bathurst), I'll be fine.

:)

I'd encourage you to give it a go..... there's so much to do and so much has imprved/changed, I doing think you'll be left dissappointed. The feedback on here has been largely very positive. It's so good to hear.

I've been on the edge about getting it mainly thanks to the positive feedback from the community. Either way, I've now decided to extend my collection of CM games tomorrow with G:AS. Started last-gen with DiRT2 and would be nice to finish it with another great game from you guys before moving onto next-gen. I'm just crossing my fingers that my remaining XBOX 360 games and two older PS3 titles will give me a decent discount.

 There is definitely the occasional screen tearing on PS3 @anim8r_uk , no need to try and deny it as the game sells itself because of the experience really.

ps. I'm reading the Gilles Villeneuve biography at the moment and it mentions his early beginnings at Mont Tremblant, so it's a nice bonus that i can visualize this thrill of a track thanks to GAS now 👍, thanks for including it.
