I was wondering if you guys are using the driving aids for very powerfull cars like the group c cars for example...I was not using any driving aids up untill i started using the powerfull cars...if I dont use it....I have a hard time keeping my wheels from spinning...also if you use it, what level are you using it?

thx

Depends on the track. You can go faster without ASM, but It's easier to loose control.
I usually adjust TCS to a level that prevents excessive wheelspin, usually 2-3.

It is also more difficult to properly tune a car when oversteer and understeer management are enabled. However TCS is almost a must if you're using a DS2 like me. All of my higher powered cars have 1 click of TCS.

I use the ds2 and I dont have any asm or tsc because the x,o,square and triangle buttons are analouge so I drive that way, beacuse it feels more lika a pedal then using the right joystick which feels more like a relay...(or whatever it is called) you really get more speed out of the car and its easier to corner without any aids if you ask me,but then again you must be carefull with the throttle :scared:

I'm guessing that today's LeMans cars (R8 and such) have traction control? What about ASM?

Edit: I decided to check out the official rules to try and find out. It isn't really clear.

[10.1 - Electronic Systems](10.1.1) :Any automatic or electronic control system or function is forbidden : chassis control, automatic or semi-automatic transmissios, clutches, final drive differential systems, shock absorbers...etc.

No mention of traction control, which seems like it would be of high mention. I'll look some more and try to figure out.

Thx! I'll try that tonight...

...by the way, I'm using the DFP wheel...it is easy to adjust the amount of throtlle but those powerfull car are insane!!! I tried to enter the last serie in the professional hall (gran turismo wolrd champ...or whatever it's called...i forget) with a mercedes CLK GTR all modded with no traction control as usual....holy ****! I could not keep up with tfose guys....they were way faster....after a bit of practice, i could keep up (2nd or 3rd place... that MINOLTA is way to fast)...but then my tire would use way faster then them....i gues that is just the crappy AI on rail track...using almost no tire...and then pitting on the last lap....

The CLK GTR is not in the same level with Minolta to begin with. Minolta has 900+ house power stock and much better handling and tire wearing than CLK GTR. Try to win yourself a Minolta or a Nissan R92P from Endurance Hall race, then you should have some fun with this GT World Championship race. :)

Unless somebody show me proof of traction control allowed on these LeMans race cars, I'm driving all my GT4 cars with no ASM and no traction control!

Me too, Nurb..

I found that the 'assists' do too much 'assisting'...you know what I mean..cornering feels different, etc.
..and damnit..I LIKE to lose control sometimes..makes the white knuckle driving experience much more enjoyable for me.
Take the 88 Iroc for instance...now, most of you may not care, but driving this car with 550 hp. with no traction control or asm is an amazing experience..the sound (semi-racing exhaust) and performance is way too cool.

If any of you are looking for something new to drive and haven't tried it yet...I can't seem to pull myself away from this ride..just awesome.

In other words, learn to drive with NO assists unless it is really really necissary.

my 2 cents...thanks for listening..
