I pre-ordered it at Amazon.de on 9.February 2005, yesterday got an email that they dispached it, with a little luck I`m gonna be able to play it today!!!! Can't wait !!

School sucks bigtime when you wait another couple of hours for GT4 :(:( Another problem is that I sent my DFP back because it didn't work properly anymore, so I'll try to resist the temptation to play GT4 without a wheel :(:( Whish me luck 👍

PS: Damn, i guess I payed the most for GT4 of all you guys, 58,99 euros.....but with free shipping :indiff: Oh well...that's life :dopey:

Hi i just got my copy of GT4 Today here in Sweden and the game suffers from horrible amounts of shimmering and jaggies on the same levels as GT3 highly disappointing after hearing that the graphics should be better in PAL version.

My eyes started to hurt after just playing for some minutes :/

I never had shimmering in gt3 and no sign of it in gt 4 yet. Just done the first licenses now.

I started this thread yesterday afternoon. This means that I had to wait to get home from work to try "my precious :) ".

Sure enough my kids were sitting in front of our only TV. Our second TV quit working last sunday -> talking about bad timing . . .

After dinner my wife watched her programs, but I managed to take a look at some menu's and I could even run some licenses (which were rather easy, but this may have something to do with the fact that I'm a GT-veteran). The real playing started at 10PM. After some "getting used to the new physics" it became clear that GT4 was worth the wait. There are games that feel right or wrong just from the start. This one sure feels right !

My eyes started to hurt a little after a while so I called it a day around 2AM. I have to watch my computerscreen all day long.

Anyway -> I can't wait to play again.

My current car is a 1986 celica 2000 gtr, all stock. It's utter crap. UTTER UTTER crap. But I'm poor, and I don't wanna use the GT3 100k thing. :D

picked up my copy from comet . IN STOCK. £29.99. can't understand what all the fuss was 2 weeks ago in the states! just watched the intro now off to spend some money. Should i use the money from GT3? 👍

yes you should, unless you want to start with civic '85 :D I did that transaction thing and started with Skyline GT-R '91 :trouble:

I read your thread at 5PM, immediately shut-down my PC at work and jumped into my car.
5 minutes before closing time I arrived at the game-story, luckily they still had 4 copies.

I started playing at 11PM, when my wife and daughter had gone to bed.
Had to stop around 2.30AM because I also have to stare at PC-screens at work.

I finished B-license with all 16 gold, so I had 3 cars in my garage !
Then won the Sunday Cup, which gave me my fourth car.

It can't be 11PM again quickly enough for me ...

Amazon Orders!

Just got a reply from Amazon about the my GT4 order not being dispatched and heres the response:

Unfortunately, in spite of all of our efforts, there will be some
unforeseen delays, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience
which these may cause.

In looking into the situation, I have found that "Gran Turismo 4" has
been delayed in our Fulfilment centre.

Unfortunately we have experienced a slight backlog within our
Fulfilment Centre which has affected your order. Please rest assured
that we have allocated extra resources to this problem so that it can
be eliminated.

So I would guess that anyone else whose order hasnt been sent is in this situation waiting for what I assume is stock to enter the "Fulfilment Centre" (why can't that call it a warehouse? :P) anywa it's good to know whats going on at least.

I have had my delivery cost refunded to me I don't know if they will do this for everyone so don't quote me on it :D

EDIT: Oh bugger the Amazon page for the GT4's just updated to:

Availability: usually dispatched within 1 to 2 weeks.

Time to cancel my complete order as I aint waiting another week... Gameplay's next day £4.99 delivery for me it is then :S

Simple question....Why pre-order?

Because it was cheaper, they deliver it at my place, I don't have to drive to a shop and wait in line (which saves precious gametime...). I know, I'm lazy....

I'll be getting my copy on thursday at around 6:00 pm, go home, eat, have a shower, then spend till around 12am playing gt4....

Picked up my game today, and been playing now for 4 hours, sofar im a bit dissapointed, theres just to much shimmering and slowdown in fps. It certainly do not run at 50fps when cornering, thats bad. I guess i can get used to it, b-spec is great i think.

Just got my copy of GT4 (through Amazon.co.uk) and OHMIGOD THE CARS THAT ARE AVAILABLE!!! They're beautiful to behold!! BMW M3! M3 CSL!? TVR T350! Even the little hot hatches are brilliantly rendered.

I love the way this game drives too - much closer to the real thing in terms of driver input vs. feedback. This game suffers no fools behind the wheel when all the driver aids are turned off.

I've got a bit of work to do now, but I can't wait to get back to the game and hoon around the Nurburgring for a good long while. Think I'm going to *ahem* transfer my credits from a previous Gran Turismo and buy me an M3 CSL. HOT DOG!!!!!

:D 👍

i cant believe this day actually arrived! 20 minutes ago i was holding gt4 in my hands which was the $%^&* happiest moment in the last three years (apart from getting the oreca viper in gt3 yesterday and getting to 90% completion lol)

i have a question, does anyone know if the belgium/netherlands versions of gt4 include the english language set? pls let me know as i intend to run to the store and buy it instantaneously if it does.

Will you keep going with the GT3 after GT4 is available to you, It's a pity to drop it since you have almost finished.

:D :D :D Woo hoo! At long last, I got my copy this morning (Amazon and Royal Mail came good on the day!) and have just got back to my work after a slightly extended lunch break in which I dashed home for my first ever complete lap of the Nurburgring, in a brand spanking new BMW M3 bought with my 100,000 Cr transferred from GT3... I must say, it feels very different to GT4: Prologue, and I'm surprised that the new view that Prologue had is no longer present (although I like the new hood camera view alot!)... alot less forgiving than before!

Irony is, I can't even go home to play it all night tonight, as it is my friend's birthday, but tomorrow night will be alot of fun... going to nip out tomorrow lunchtime to buy a new memory card that I will devote entirely to GT4, and a USB Flash drive to get my Photo Mode gallery up and running...

Anyway, hope all you PAL players are enjoying the game.... see you in a month or two.... :D

Got my copy during my lunchbreak.. I have still a few hours of work todo
before i can play my beloved game...

And before i can play i will setup up the ProLogic2 system on my PC

na man ill finish it...i been playin gt3 alongside gt concept and gt4p the whole time and im gettin those 100% theres like 10 cars left i want and i dont have yet so itll be great to finish no matter if gt4 is there or not! and i hope it will be there in like an hour:D:D:D

I buyed it by 0:30 last night (when I got to the store, at about 23:50, there were already some 50 guys waiting in line to buy it :dopey: ), and I rushed home to play it.

First thing I did was to drive the Nurb, just to see it. I picked the small autobianchi A112 Abarth (I owned one and I have lasting memories from it, so I decided it to be the first car to drive in GT4).

Then I just browsed all the menus. They're a bit confusing, compared to the GT3 ones, but I guess I will get used to them.

And then, at about 1:30, I decided to start. I didn't use neither the GT3 save (have it at 99%) nor the GT4P one. I want to start from scratch on this one.

So I went for the licenses, and got the first one, with a few golds, but mostly silvers. Now I have two cars (Lupo and Kusabi) in my garage. But I won't start to race until I have all the licenses. Ended by 3:00 AM and decided to stop there, for obvious work-related reasons.

A few thoughts, from the small experience I had last night:

1. the graphics are vastly improved and I had none of the problems some others mentioned.

2. The physics of the cars are also much more realistic. This game isn't as forgiving as GT3 was and you can easily lose control of the cars, even in a straight line.

3. One thing I suspected already and now I know for sure. The DS2 is almost useless in this game. Last night I played with it because I was to eager to start and - with everyone else already sleeping - I tried to be use great discretion in my gaming. So, my DF (not Pro) wheel stayed in the box.

But it is really difficult, with the DS2, to be precise in your steering. Much more than it was with GT3. So, tonight and indeed from now on the DF will be the only option to proceed with GT4.

And someday I will get my DF Pro. Maybe after I do my next planned buy (PS2 related), wich is the Enthusia game.
