A lot of usual faces up there...

...except, I suspect a lot of people have changed their names this time round?

well i for one am new to GT Academy.. I seen the last downloadable trials but never bothered as i never had time with work.. i did keeep up witht he boards and im recognising alot of names. maybe from here? maybe from last year?.. who knows

Let me register even though I'm 17, luckily I will be 18 be the end of round 1.

No words :grumpy:

Sorry for that offtrack, but I'm not allowed to take part at the Academy again anyway.

Cheers

Ah Gantenbein, i just watched your replay :D and your ghost just speeds away from me

I've noticed doing the seasonal TTs that you have to keep at least one wheel on the track at all times - possibly two. However this guy does that so I think that's why it's valid.

It would be valid in F1 as well.

I'm so disappointed Belgium isn't in it this time :guilty:
Still I hope the best for all GTP memebers who are able to participate 👍

Yeah mate, really too bad for Belgium racers... 👎

They could have put you in the region with the Netherland which are surprisingly representing 1 region alone ????

That'll be fine that happened to me last year... and i was aloud.

As for me i still need to get a wheel, as of yet i cant enter time trial registered 20 mins ago.....

Done about 40laps now and quite happy with my speed, can see where I'm losing the time and have made that time up - just not all in one lap!

It's actually a pretty nice combo and the car suits the tyres well.

Not put a good run together yet, really struggling in a couple of corners. 21st but won't stay there for long.

I also don't get it why the Netherlands is a region on its own and they couldn't add Belgium to that region? Chances to win are a lot more higher when you're living in NL compared to Germany or Spain...

Sorry, but we really want to move forward from this. There are so many things to discuss in the coming weeks, but I'm afraid this isn't one of them.

Do you get the car when the first round is over?

No, you get it directly after leaving the academy time trial, when you return to your home. Already got it.

Il concorso "GT Academy 2011" in Italia comincerà alle ore 08.00 (GMT) del giorno 18 Marzo 2011.

Per favore provate di nuovo dopo la data d'inizio.

Why in Italy GT Academy is delayed to March the 18!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

doh

Does anyone know if it's possible to change the brake balance? I always reduce my rear brake balance to 3 and I'm really struggling with the brakes at the moment. 👎

This is gonna be tough to keep doing until mid April. I've been in and out of the top 10 a few times today and I'm pretty pleased with that. The guys at the top are so fast though 👍

I wonder how many guys are playing offline at the moment, as there is no sign of any of the 'skills' team yet.

Can you run it offline ?

Once you sign in and are on track you can just disconnect from the PSN. Don't be surprised to see people do this for weeks and then magically appear at the top of the leader board once they are fast enough. It happened with the world record at in last years Academy TT.

I think some people last year, logged on then pulled their ethernet cables, or maybe just switched their PS3's off? This meant they got the driving time, knew what time they could do and then with less than a week to go, left their internet on and allowed their time to submit itself.

Quite clever really...

Already in the UK board however, I can see some familier faces who can't/won't compete if they do make the top 20. As I understand it, Moose, who is currently quickest (and excellent, I must add) didn't take part last year as he used to, or does still do karting.

Isn't this going to cause confusion though. Fair enough, everyone should be allowed set a time, but if they aren't eligible due to age, no license, racing license etc, it is going to mean that people outside the top 20 will be going to the nationals. This happened with Ireland last year. One guy I talked to qualified 30th, but due to all the ineligible participants he got a call to come along to the finals and compete.

Yep, 25th place from the UK ended up coming along.

I guess you just got to try and make the top 20. If you get in due to other people not being allowed to take part, or genuinly can't get the time off work or something...then you get lucky and just enjoy the free pizza and beer!

Haha, yeah. I guess all you can do is try keep in the 20, which will be hard work.

Btw, nice to meet, I'm Des. No doubt I'll be seeing your name on the leaderboards a lot over the next few weels :D
