So weird! I thought it was just me... so frustrating when you are in the middle of a corner and then all of a sudden you have no control as the PS button has been pressed from the inside.

What's also odd is that it only started happening with GT5. Prologue and all other games had no issues like that.

Made it to 15th place in my region last night, but now slowly dropping back down. Can you please stop improving your times and start showing some respect to us old farts who haven't the energy to proceed much further. ;)

Oh, by the way; using ABS 10. :sly:

Change of plan for now i think, after geting the DFGT i realised once again how hard it is going back to wheel after not using one for such a long itme, so im going back to pad for now to improve abit more (to a time were i think is safe for top 20/23/24 even at this stage). Then theres no pressure to learn the wheel fast. After having a small go i was so inconsistent but could see the advantage straight away of having far more turning available on my DC5 RM for example.
 
Hey Bruno I'm afraid our friend Mark (oldbeanee) is ineligible since having gone to Silverstone also. As for EDDSKILL well let's wait and see ;)
 
Man this is insane, i made 2:19:800, and i can't take one more second, i cant see how you all guys are making less 3.5sec than me, i'm pushing to my limits, and i didn«t have too much time to practice, but i don't see me getting top 50 soon.

good luck to all of you, especially meagainstyou, show that portugal can do ti ;)

I put Active Steering on earlier and that helped, but maybe I just learnt the track more. Slowly getting more used to it, but miles off the pace, will watch the quick guys ghosts at some point. Enjoying the combo more than I did earlier, the track is good, I'd just prefer a bit more grip...

If I can hit the 18s at some point, I'll be happy.

i understand organization rules and its fair to give the opportunity to others... but that takes away of the TT's some of the best players in the world... there's no motivation of course...

@nMd_pRo: thank you :cheers: let's hope we (PT) can handle this hard challenge..

I'm trying to set a trend. ;)

I've just been chasing my own ghosts so far, still early days for chasing others IMO. Need to know my own limits before gaining extra from others. 👍
 
Keep finding speed now:), improved another .3 or so today, lap far from great though,was .25 down T1 alone, liking the track:tup:
 
Does anyone know who's ghost I can race without my stupid PS3 freezing? I've tried like four different ghost and they all froze.

Cheers, i think in the last 3 months or so ive learnt to be reasonably competitive with it. Crazy-legs (French)to get a .4 (a few days ago as well) was awsome.

Down to a 2:18.4 but as ever everyone else is improving as well.

@pr1vatej0ker - some serious runs there - its a pity your ghost wont load for me :)

After a couple of hours this morning I've managed to get down to2:24.989 - only another 7 seconds to find! lol.

If I can get into the top 1000 by the end of the day, I'll be happy. I can easily see where to gain another second from, so should be able to do it.

Will watch some fast replays later and see why you guys are all so fast.

Guys, I noticed that the top times are with 'active steering strong'.

Obviously it gives you some advantage, but I've never used this artificial aid and don't think it should be allowed in the Academy.

However, if this is the only way to a good result, you have to use it, I guess. Do you know what advantage in seconds it grants?
 
Unbelievable im the most gutted person ever now....... My 2 fastest ever sectors and i completely blow the last sector.

I swear that would be 17 dead or 16.9 with the last sectors the top guys could pull.

Still improved on a different lap and have 75 more laps to do sometime today :), but have a lot of speed there today so you never know.

i know about the countries in 💡 :p but in your case and Dan.. just for fun, i'm sure it is possible to create an account in an eligible country.. ;)

I'd love to have a crack at the demo, but I don't think it's possible to create another account with a different country.

Second fastest guy in EU isnt using it, im not using it (2nd fastest pad in EU) and alot of others right up there aren't using it, if theres an advantage its small id say.


Bad luck Tidgney! i had similiar experiece last night were i was doing .9 T1 for fun and one lap if i nailed final sector i would have done a .4/.3 after doing .1 T1 if i remember correctly.
 
10X, so I will not use it as well. Not that it will matter for the leaderboard, since I have maybe a couple of hours to invest in this in total. So, just for fun.

MarkWebber, it's possible to create account in other countries. I did it to be able to try the challenge.

This is my first post and I thought I would join the discussion.

I'm a pad user and I aim to achieve what other pad users achieve in the 2.17 bracket, currently in the 19s and I can see plenty of improvement, so with more time I will get there.

Tidgney doing well with the pad I see and I have seen you playing with GTLeague members before, so hi.

What do you guys think the time bracket you will need to be in to stay in the top 20 throughout the comp?
 
I thought that this tt was available for all countries?? Not cool IMO to make a false account and run. I could have used my US account to run the american academy. But out of respect to those guys I chose not to. ;)

Because if you enter top20 with your false account what is the point? You just kicked out somebody else, wich is unfair and disrespectfull.

I don't mind if some of the accounts above me are fake :dopey: Because they can not pass to the next phase.

I just made 2:20... first day and i still do not know the complete track.

Next weekend ill try to improve to 2:17:xxx :)

If you're ineligible, then your appearance in the leaderboards has no true value. It's like you were never there. Nobody eligible loses his place @ the top 20.
