The 2012 edition of the GT academy has just been officially announced. Begin on May 1 in Europe and 2 in the U.S.
Kazunori Yamauchi said:
“It makes me very proud to see the graduates of the GT Academy racing around the world with Nissan. This year we are aiming to make GT Academy bigger and better than ever before and so I am creating a new series of driving challenges open to anyone with a PS3 (Note: terms and conditions will apply). You don’t have to be an expert to have a go.”

Finally, some new content. I'll join in on this just to have something to do in the game. Hopefully, the challenges will be good.
 
If it's a standalone download like last time with Indianapolis,I wonder if we will get to test a new/old track!!!!!!!

It looks like italy is not included but on the Italian FB page there was today the announcement of the new academy and something like that so maybe we are 'in' too.

Also, as linked from the comments on the PSBlog, see here. Scroll down to the "additional notes", Italy should be in group 1.

Maybe the exclusion of other countries is a Sony / Nissan decision.

why did you buy GT5 ? You obviously knew they would be tons of GTR in it since it was like that since GT1 ? Complaining always complaining this get tiresome.

Urgh why are you even on these Forums If you Just moan like a little spoilt kid. Seriously no one cares about your Opinion of how many GTR's there in the game. Ever since Gran Turismo 1 there have been GTR's in them. As RX-7_FD3S Mentioned above. Get over it and move along. God so frustrating reading the same dribble over and over again. It's why I stopped posting on these Forums regularly. 👎

It appears that we won't be getting anything. This is going to be a standalone download that won't be part of GT5, everything will be self-contained and if I had to guess won't be added to GT5. So they put all this work into something that will benefit 4 people, while the millions that own the game sit on a partially broken version (after the last couple updates). 👎
 
Stupid question in bound, if your country isn't taking part (Canada, etc) or if like some of our younger members, aren't old enough to have a valid drivers license and take part, will this content still be available to download and just use? Obviously myself being Canadian can't participate, but I'm interested in all the content anyway just for fun.
