I don't do the online TT's because people are allowed to over modify their cars and then power limit them. This gives the car more torque and gives them an advantage. I personally don't like doing that so I just stay away.

Me too.. And for the same reason... In my opinion you should build the car up to meet specifications... I have heard a friend of mine when we exchanged tunes tell me to put all these parts on and the limit the power from a 100% to 73%... In my opinion that is stupid.. But everyone is different no biggie...

Almost forgot... It should be in the playstation store on the first or second

^^yep, the only one I can remember that was "fair" was the Kart Space TT with the 100cc Kart, but even then some people had "broken in" kart's with a few more HP's giving them an advantage.

It was fun though. :D

Don't forget the guys with the glitched setup who were 3 seconds faster than the rest of the top 10.

^^can't forget that! lol

Anyway, just read over at the European GT Academy thread that the first 7 week's will only count as "training" and that the final 8th week will be the one that will get you to the finals (or Florida or w/e they have planned lol).

Which would make sense because they did say that "new comers" are able to participate and what not, this would also explain the screen shots of the "license-esque" type of format.

We'll know for sure next week. :)

That would make sense, but that last week's gonna be hell! No different than Round 3 of last year I guess.

Any of you notice the retries stat, where it shows how much time you've invested in each challenge. I really like that! Although curious if they will work it into the total score? I came in 132nd SE Region last year, at one point I was 30-something, I wanted to make round 2/3 but didn't have enough time with my job to put in many hours. I watched as the last few hours knocked me off the top 128. I hope to do much better this year.

That would be great news actually if its just performance in the 8th week that gets people to the finals. I was worried they might take your times from each week and add them all together to determine who went to the finals. That would take a HUGE time commitment compared to just one week.

Was nice last year how they had all the details very well laid out ahead of time, before it even started. Some people have jobs and may need to plan for when time is needed to put in :) I just hope we are not driving the GTR to get to the finals like last year as its one of the less challenging cars (and out of all the Nissans they used online last year, seems to be the car least like how it is in real life). One of the most challenging combos last year was the tuned 370 at cape ring, but yet it was used in round 1.

Should be fun though:tup:

viewing the news it seems like you just need to get the bronze medals each week at the very least.

This will be an interesting format. Seems like it is aimed to just ease them in

Hey guys,

I’m Brazilian and of course there is no GT Academy here, but I have double citizenship! I’m also Italian. 💡

I’m not that good at all but imagine if I join the EU GT Academy and get to the finals. Would they accept that?

Thanks

I cant wait to get out there with you guys again! This should be fun! Hopefully these forums will be as popular as they were before when we were running practices and fun events every night!

It'd be nice to see everyone again :P Sup dude :)

Just started practicing. After whipping the GTR Black Edition around SSR5 on Sport Hards, I scraped out a low 1:38. Is that any good? I did SSR5 because its my worst out of the four tracks .

Also got a low 1:05 on London with a Comfort Soft 370Z.

Best of luck to all my American and European friends, sadly I'll have to watch from the sidelines due to Canada's stupid contest laws... Thank you Mr.Harper.

Yes it's true that not being able to race for a real chance is frustrating. But watching from the sidelines is your only option? Nope. Last year I joined most of Silverstone finalists almost every evening to practice and have fun at the same time. Let me tell you that these weeks when they needed to practice to get in shape for Orlando were the best moments I have ever had in any racing games or simulators. I get it that you have speed, then go join those lobbies where top guys are and you will see, as GTMotion said that you will not want to miss any of those racing nights!

Thanks for the advice Pierre, I'll be sure to. Hopefully we'll at least be able to play the GT Academy "game" and post times, that should be fun.

And of course that last week falls right on top of a week long vacation with my family that's been planned for months...

I'll get one night to put in a time and then I'm gone, which of course means I have 0 chance of making it. Maybe next year.....

:banghead: :(

I think this may have been answered already, I couldn't find it though.

What are the 4 tracks that are supposed to be in this?

According to the photos posted by Sony:

- Tokyo R246
- Special Stage Route 5
- High Speed Ring
- London

Curious to know whey they are all mostly street courses. :odd:

Maybe because they are really hard to short cut (cheat) on?

Yeah I figured that. Hopefully we get some real circuits though, would be a shame if their only way to curb cheating is to run city courses. 👎

Where will the demo be? You mis-typed something and it's hard to understand.

If you're asking about the demo, should be in the PSN store once it updates.

I'm asking where in the store?
Add On,Demo ?

Probably Demo's. I don't think It'll be that hard to find it once it hits. If it's not plastered all over the main page, a simple keyword search for Gran Turismo will find it.
