2-5 time with my DS3. Red Silvia disrupts my line constantly.

Heh, are you showing off because you beat Famine? :p

When our prize cars are available, I'm gonna paint my Silvia in red. :sly:

And now I hate that red car big time.
+1

On my attempts, what I tried doing is passing it on the left when it reaches that right-hander after the straight. It's narrow window, and on occasion, I get there early and fast, which means I go wide. Frustrating since I can probably knock off another .3 seconds if I can somehow get around. :grumpy:

Did both rounds again, but this time, I uploaded the fastest ghost. Improved a tad on most of them, except for 2-4 where I found .4 seconds. Given my standings, though, definitely not finishing in the Top 100 in the US this time once all of this is over.

It all depends if you hit turn 1 right, if your off by a tiny bit you won't catch the red car soon enough.
You can take the car on the right and just blow by, it is so hard to do it.
I was less than .1 off the leaders ghost twice only to crash entering the next corner.
Never could do it again and gave up.
Scary how much faster everyone is and it's just getting started.

I'm curious to know whether everyone's consistently getting close to their best times, or whether they're crashing out 90% of the time. I'm falling into the former, which isn't surprising, but kinda annoying.

I can't speak for anyone else, but for me (on 2-5) it's all about getting to the red car in time to sideswipe him on the right without going off. I sometimes get into a groove where i can do that several times in a row, but I would estimate that I fail to get there in time in about two-thirds of my starts.

A few times I've gone off after passing the red car, mostly because I bumped it weird on the way by and never got my line sorted back out. If I avoid those issues, I usually get within half a second of my best.

One thing I've found a bit discouraging is that you can actually get to the red car too early. If you manage to pass him before the right-hander, you have to lift to make the corner, losing enough speed to amount to something like half a second by the braking zone. Sideswiping him seems to make it possible to take the corner flat-out.

I doubt I would make it to the finals. I am ranked 5000 to 3000 position (as of last night). If I do , I would be shocked. I have 9 out of 10 golds. Gonna get the 1-3 in the Leaf challenge and get it done.

I was just looking at the leaderboard for 2-5, and was thinking that Amo has got to be tired of getting 2nd in TTs lately :)

So the demo is the actual academy right? I was looking for it under seasonal events like last time but its not there, then I see "GT Academy Demo", is that the actual academy?

I'm crashing 91% time, spinning 5% of the time, limping to the finish line with the other 4%.

Yes

At times I'm able to pass the red Silvia on the left and maintain my line, speed and smooth inputs, outpacing my ghost by a good bit......then I reach the 2nd to last turn and last turn with the sand trap and my ghost passes me due to my loss of speed and eradict inputs due to greater speed gained earlier.:banghead::banghead::irked::lol: Tons of fun though.👍

I have to turn the ghost off, its too distracting. If I am ahead of the ghost I feel pressure not too mess up, if I am behind the ghost I feel like its a lost cause, and if the ghost is inside of me....well, I just freak out. Fk ghosts

It's too bad that Racing games don't have the same popularity as say, shooting games, where one could make a living off being really good at them and entering tournaments for prize money.

shooting games are sorta over, it's starcraft 2 and MOBA time!:P

There was a month long Forza 4 tournament that ended a couple months ago sponsored by Hyundai. It was winner take all, and the grand prize was a brand new 2012 Hyundai Veloster and a check for $8,900. The total prize package was worth over $27,000. I won it, but Jersey was on my heels almost the entire time. He ended up finishing in 2nd place. Also, a couple years ago Hyundai sponsored another Forza tourney with a $2,000 cash prize. I won that one too, with Jersey a close 2nd.

I say we put our rivalry aside for now and focus on getting to the National finals first. Hopefully we a chance to go head to head in real life. =) Best of luck to ya man.

that is a cool story!:) Well done you and good luck:P

F ghosts, indeed. I have exactly the same reaction. I just turn the ghost off and look at the arrows on the map if I have a split second to spare to see how I'm doing.

God if this was on facebook I would have liked it SO FREAKING HARD. I freak out when i can't see the ghost either...

Has anyone ranked silver in all events to see what the "Special racing wear" for their avatar is? I presume it's just like any racing wear prize, but I wasn't sure.

Well I don't think we can actually see it yet anyways, and I'm sure achieving gold gets you both the GT Academy cars and suit.

Possession, I hate it when a ghost controls my actions. Never a priest around when you need one.

I really like that licence test format... Currently #40 on 1-2 / #47 on 1-5 / #60 on 2-3 / #185 on 2-5.(DS3)
