My PS3 struggles to connect to the Internet at the best of times, there's no way I'll be racing others until Australia gets decent Internet. Wish I could though!Anyone up for some racing with this round 1 combo?
I'll set-up a room tomorrow around 16:00 GMT
Stupid question, is this like other GTA's, meaning this round doesn't matter? Or do we need a good lap here?
I got a 1:03.602 on my first session, I just don't know if I need to bother running more or not...?
Q. How can I enter?
...snip...
Once you have your PSN ID and access to a PS3™ system with internet access and a copy of the Gran Turismo®6 game, starting at 12:01am PST on Monday, April 21, 2014, you can download and install the GT Academy 2014 online qualification module (“OQM”)
NOTE: There are 4 rounds within the OQM, and you must complete the first 2 rounds of the OQM by 12:01 AM PST on May 19, 2014 to proceed with official registration and to enter the contest. If you do not complete the first 2 rounds by then, you will not be able to register or enter the contest.
I had another session yesterday trying to get a few tenths and I've discovered that I am a bonafide choker! I was chasing Dan's ghost and any time I could see I was doing okay I would stuff up either Graham Hill or Clearways...if I was no where near the ghost at T1 I would nail them?!? How do you (and anyone for that matter) avoid getting the chokes?
I used to have to same problem with on line races I would qualify toward the front then at the start of the race My heart would start to race and get all anxious I'd make mistakes and ruin my race and possibly others too same would happen in TT 's.
To get over this I went back to basics on the TT eliminated most of the distractions I turned my ghost off to just show it's line.
I removed the lap times and splits (not seeing these helps a lot)
Not knowing if I'm up or down just allows me to focus on what matters the driving ,brake points , apex speed.
This applies to online races too I don't need to know how far behind or ahead I am just eliminate as much as you can and get to the basics the less info you have to process allows you to stay calm and improve.
That's what I do remove the HUD I drive cockpit veiw 90% on the time so I still get a rough idea of speedo and revs but the less information I. The screen helps keep me focusedHow'd you remove the splits? Only way i can do it, is by removing the entire hud. I ended up just putting a blanket over the top half of the screen. I *do* love that song, but can't handle music while driving in GT. Always turned it off before doing any driving.Speaking of driving music. Korn - "Got The Life" is my track of choice when I need to get somewhere fast. It's been tested up to 280km/h.
But for real-life driving (or more accurately - public-transit riding), which is never fast because I live in Traffic Hell, USA, I prefer a good mix of hard rock:
- Hum - Downward is Heavenward, or You'd Prefer an Astronaut
- Metallica - Master of Puppets
- Dude York - Dehumanize
- King Crimson - Anything with Adrian Belew
- Built to Spill - Every single song
EDIT: Can't forget some Zeppelin, of course. And I also have a soft spot for U2, too.

That's Sir Lucas to you!Ah the pre Icon, pre filthy rich, pre napster, even pre MTV Metallica (One was their first ever video remember?), the memories of an angry childhood!!! Sorry for drifting off topic but couldn't help it
King Crimson show a much more complex and evolved taste Sir Kevin![]()
That's Sir Lucas to you!
I'd be surprised if Kev knew anything about King Crimson. Adrian Belew is my Guitar Hero.
EDIT: Also, watch for info in the Playseat Challenge thread about public streams for Monday's race with the 370Z @ Apricot. 👍
