For some reason I have a USA account and when i try to enter the final time trial it says that im not in an eligible country. Im in michigan so im not sure what the problem is. Any ideas?

Official opening time is 8pm eastern, so perhaps because you are before that.
 
Just done a 2:17.715 :D Might have dipped into a .5 but as you'll see from the replay I murdered stowe corner! :lol:

I think that'll do me for today 👍
 
Currently 62nd in the UK and 357th overall with a 2:19.745. I'm getting left behind here...

I'm currently kicking myself for cutting a corner a tiny bit too much on an otherwise great lap... which turned out to be a 2:18.951. :ouch:

Already my original (poor) prediction with regards to UK cut-off time (low 2:19) has been surpassed, in under 15 hours no less. Now I'm convinced the UK cut-off time could potentially be a high 2:17. Frankly I'll be amazed if I ever manage that.

I'll just wait until after 8PM tonight and check again. An event, by a sony developer, of this magnitude, should have jumped right out at the onset of the "welcome" screen in the playstation store. I see no indication that it even exists. Thanks for the help though.

I just searched gt academy and there it was.
 
My lap for those interested :). A little scrappy but still an ok lap. Still lots of time available as we can see from the improved times, and bandits great #1 time in the UK now 👍

Anyhow Enjoy!

Im slow as crap lol. Force feedback so strong to me now after racing on iracing.for last month amd a half. Gonna take some.getting.used to best I ran so far is a 2:20.5xx : (

Thank you for posting this. I am going to watch it a few times and see if I can improve my lap time after seeing someone more more skilled than I doing it. 👍


EDIT~! After watching your video I took 2 seconds off my best time. (Though no where near yours). I think if I really try I could maybe even take another 1-2 seconds off.

Okay...I found it. To be honest, I really don't have an explanation, because I know I didn't see it the first time around. I'm sure of it. I found it just now by scrolling to the right on the welcome screen, where I had been before. Who knows.
 
Well could have set an 18.6 but the 2nd last corner did me.. swear I had two wheels on the track but oh well. I wish the UK had its own competition everyone is ridiculously quick! :)

Before I started searching for the demo earlier, I was prompted to install an update. However, this didn't keep me from entering the store. I'm not sure what could be causing the message you're seeing.
 
Well hit a 19.5 im done for the night. Having flashbacks of last year hitting start button and restart lol.

anyone know the name of that blind right hand corner before the chicanes section? i can't nail the turn-in angle for the life of me.

Im not sure but that corner is my krypotonite never hit it right.
 
I dunno what the point in the practice events is, all the braking points are different on the qualifying event because of the extra speed you carry on the full track, the different lighting also means you can't easily use the same braking points either! So tonight looks like I'll be learning the full circuit, only managed a 2:20.8 after 3 laps lol.
 
Would have to be the worlds best competition ever put forward for gaming consoles. I real real shame countries like Australia can't enter really sucks. Good luck to all those that enter. An amazing computation to be part of, for sure. Please pd do something to allow other countries also. Australia. Big thumbs up from us here.
 
It's not PD, Sony, or enter global Nissan's fault. They all want it spread to those countries that keep being mentioned just as much as you. it comes down to the country and its regional Nissan hq/offices/bosses/management. Talk to Nissan Australia

So a comparison between times of practice events and the qualifier are nonsense. I already had the impression the gap was too large.

The practice events are there to teach you a part of the circuit, it is less frustrating then trying the full circuit immediately. However it seems you should not spend too much time on them since the breaking points are different.

@Adrianf1 Thanks for the GT5-GT6 comparison, not clear if the suspension was the same on the cars, but the GT6 movement looks great.

@Tidgney Thanks for sharing that video, always good to see some outside of the PS3.

sorry but after a week of past "london TT" i think this new physics is a bit "arcade"... maybe i wrong.. but i prefer gt5 ...sports hard for me now seems race hard... maybe our german friend likes this now ;)
 
I love this demo so much :lol: Strictly cockpit view and no ABS FTW, just got 35.089 at Practice 4 with no so smooth run, around 4,169th in rank at the moment. I love the way the brakes have to be modulated with finesse, now if only the BB can be changed ...
