Some players from our local Gran Turismo community have felt like the GT Academy tests have driving physics different from the normal game modes. Is it true, what do you think?
I'm not sure about that, but what I do suspect is that the GT Academy cars are tuned in some way for the event.
After Round 3 I tried the Zytek Z11SN in an Open Lobby race, and found when tuning that the Power Limiter was already set to around 95%. I haven't shifted any settings on the cars to default and made note of figures so I can't give any more data than that however.
"Feeling" that it's different doesn't make it so it actually means that the physics were changed. If you test out the cars after winning them they still feel the same way.
Just because it's noticeable how these cars are tuned it doesn't mean that the changed the physics. There's gotta be substantial proof. So far the only thing we do know is that these cars are tuned differently. And are vastly different as well.
I noticed whe driving the Nismo LM in GT Academy when you get to the Porsche curves in Le Mans the car feels different in handling and grip compared to the rest of the track, it is more precise when turning in those fast corners wich is unusual compared to the rest of track. And just there i failed the lap manny times cuz suddenly the car was more responsible when turning..
So try it and see if you feel the difference there
I dont feel any handling differences but I do notice one thing, when driving from the cockpit view it feels so laggy compared to when playing a carrier/single or online game that I wanna throw up. They must have upped the gfx settings a bit to much cuz I cant play it with out feeling a bit nauseas. A condition I picked up after buying first gen Oculus Rift Dev kit. As soon as it get a bit laggy i wanna puke nowadays and it really is notacible in GT Academy cockpit view.
