This is an amazing read,i never cracked open the signature edition i got except to get the game out and dlc codes, only just now a year after release have i found this amazing book,so useful and shows alot of stuff i didnt know before.

It really is a good book, I ordered a copy off EBay a few months back and I love it, I just wish the text was a little bigger.

Notice in the photomode section it has a merc gullwing, with its doors open was photomode going to allow us to close and open doors and bonnets etc?

I would like to think that was the plan, or currently in the works for GT6. All speculation, no evidence of course. But, If "F" is doing it...

You mean there's text on those pages under them little bitty cars:dopey:. The "Prima" Essential Track Guide has about the same size text (just a little bolder print).:ouch: On the cover it says >convenient size< :grumpy: which translates to break out the magnifying glass:yuck:.
Wal-Mart still sells these.

DO.NOT.UTTER.THAT.WORD.EVER.
Sorry, but uttering the word "forza" on a GTplanet thread is like sayting nice tits to the queen. Or saying Sarah palin would make a good president. FORZA IS ********!

Way to be logical and mature about it...

Apex book is great; very useful with good tips. It's one of. the reasons I bought a collectors edition 10 months after I had already bought a standard edition.

Catlin you're the most local person i've seen on here. im from that place just down the road they call St Neots

Ive also just noticed there is a nice picture of a wind tunnel, would be awesome taking shots in a real time aero tunnel.

I second that, its such a good little book that gives an overview knowledge about motorsports and automobiles to a noob like me. I spent a few days to finish it, I was totally addicted to it and it DID make a lot of sense to the game too!
Definitely can't understand people who don't even give a damn to read it and say GT5 sucks.

Speaking about this book,is there any other similar 'Real' books out there like this?

i would love to read some more.

I also read it the other week.

And it is nice it does explain alot of things about cars.

We're GT fans, not Forza haters. I hope you're speaking for yourself with that comment. I've never played forza but based on what I've heard it's pretty sound.

Anyway....Apex you say? GT Bible don't you mean?

Yeah, it rocks. I find it's a good way to keep track of my cars. I put a little mark next to the ones I have and take it to work, that way if I'm in the market place I know what I have to trade.

i would love to read some more.

Ive got a Gran Turismo 4 guide by piggyback interactive; thats 280 odd pages worth of stuff on tuning, photomode, how to take each track, full car list and comprehensive event listing.

I agree, apex is epic. I love the book, got it with the collectors ed....never looked back. Its In near mint condition, and it has the same new smell it did when it came out the box. It's so informative! I learned a lot about suspension and tuning :D I recommend it :D

In terms of driving instruction, if you can find Ross Bentley's Ultimate Speed Secrets, that's a really good read too. It's mainly focused on driving, not so much tuning or automotive history. I found it a lot easier to understand and more in-depth than the Apex book's driving sections.

I'm about halfway through the book now preparing to get some real world instruction and track time (hopefully) next season, but it's helped a lot in improving my video game driving too.

Apex improved my driving skill on gt5 no doubt. Mine is so well worn looks like i had it for five years! Lovely little book.

It's just brilliant.. But the main reason I love the Signature Edition is the way it smells..

The best park of the Apex book is historic car timeline at the start.
