PD needs to have a stricter regulation system for the Time Trial seasonals.

The Car was built on the back of the popularity OF just the car in the game.
Production models were scheduled to be built. (all the French legal mombo jumbo has been done )
Working prototypes were built and displayed for PR.
This production run was then put on hold buy Citroen and now PD then built the Race Car version for GT5.
The rumours were that citroen stopped the road car production run to consider building the Race car version.
This is why there are 3 versions in GT5

Citroen are still french so the Road/Production car is allowed in the french seasonal. Once you make it under the regulations for the event...

Amen to that, Mac.

I thought I made a pretty good run with my Peugeot 207 GTi and was looking foreward to seeing how I did against the world. Imagine my suprise when I looked at the leaderboard just to see that 149 of the first 157 times (as of yesterday) were set with that non-existant p.o.s.

Oh well, back to the freakin' drawing board.

P.S. My hat is off to the guy in 85th place (again, yesterday) who used a Renault to get his time. HE is a racer. Not so sure about the rest.

I am still trying with my Renault sport with g27 manual plus clutch...one day I wanna beat those 'spaceship riders' , but right now I am still behind them with about 3secs ( I mean from the top 260 driver with gt by citroen )
Is any tip for set up the little Renault ? This mr drive car is still very oversteered :(

Me english is not so good, so i try to explain: on the right (suspension setting view) make the thing bottom left at least -0.10, rear +0.20,
toe front 2.5 and rear 2.5 (at least, it makes the car dive in the corners to prevent understeer, as it is a FF car), front suspension really hard, back a little softer (1 kg/mm less), dampers 8/7 front and rear. This is what i change with every car to start off better, makes the car usually better. Also change breaks to 7 or 8/4, as the FF car is already very stabile u can do that, this will shorten the breakdistance, providing shorter breakways. captn_pommeroy on PSN for some hints and tips from a guy who lives next door to the Sauber F1 team and knows a couple of the guys ;-)

Kudos to Mr. #85. Amen to you, RockRoad. I did a mild tuning of the little Pug and got within the gold (barely) after 2 or 3 hot laps and saw my abysmal ranking pop up, and then when I saw what everyone else was running (the R390 in the other TT is really no better) I just stopped. I was going to do some more laps to see if I could improve my time, but why bother?

I would bet the guys at the top of the timesheets in the Citroen would also be at the top in the Peugeot. Seems like all time trials are dominated at the top by one particular car so I don't have any issues with the use of the Citroen.

You see, that is exactly my issue with this trial. The fact that if you want to compete for a top spot, you MUST use the GT. Nothing else will do. Just once I'd like to look at the top ten of one of these trials and see 3-5 different cars. The way it was done, they might as well just limited it to the GT.

I did enjoy getting gold in my li'l 207, though. So much so that I ignored the leaderboard completely in the 493 hp time trial and got gold in my Hemi Orange '74 Lamborghini Countach, just for kicks.

Also, I shouldn't have made that comment about the guys who chose to drive the GT in the 295 hp trial, and for that I apologize. I'll agree that they are obviously fine drivers and would likely be near the top regardless what they drove.

I still think that the inclusion of the GT for that trial was a mistake, however.

I'm quite a fan of the brand (citrofilia is a serious desease -LOL-) but even i think the citroen GT rc is a bit overdone here. I wonder if this car works the same in the real world as well as in the game ? But that 1 car only dominates any race is what one could aspect, i'd like to see a challenge with different cars in the top 10.

Still i'd like to see more of these challenges, i liked the daihatsju challenge very much aswell, there 1 car dominated the top too.
I'm of to find a good setting for the Citroen gt -LOL- i'm a few secs short (4!!! AAARGHH)
Post scriptum: the trails could be longer, please PD when you read this gif us a extra forthright for this one (and/or the next) tnx.
Greets stano(atleast he likes "slow car" challenges)666

I see your point. I am guessing the new Nurburgring 24 Hour time trial will be the first one to have a fairly diverse list of cars in the top 100 ... even if they will all be race cars in the end.

Afaird not, people had begun figuring out the Peugeot 908 ( or is it 907? Can't remember ) can dominate the track in under 8 minutes. I clocked a nice 9 minute 27 seconds with my unmodded Lotus Evora and it ranked 217th earlier today and now it was in the 1000's when I last checked. I wish Polyphony would make the rating system more diverse since some people have clocked amazing times on certain tracks using a good car with little to no modding only to have someone in a four million dollar car that has been powered down to come and pretty much make said player look like they had just stood still on the track for 8 some minutes.

So they should forbid modding? Even if they do it won't help. There's no way around it, i guess, once a fast lap is set in a car, others will try that same car, making the top 10 (or 250!) all the same cars.
personally i don't care for it, but maybe they should keep top 10's of all the different cars that finished? It would make a impressive list -LOL- But i rather have it as it is right now then a 1make race, atleast this way we have a choice. I can't see no problem with that.
Greetings stano666
Ps a seasonal where modding is illegal sounds ok to me. I probably won't finish in the top 10 either way

LOL, I noticed that too. Well I've tried with a variety of cars so far, got gold with a modded NSX/R street car before realizing I could use race cars.

With this many people playing I guess it's inevitable that the best car for the event will always be found and duplicated.

Perhaps a "rank by car" feature should be added, so at least we could see where we stack up against other people in the same car.

tru dat

Ooh, rank by car would be cool but make it less competitive because of the amount of possible cars, rank by region would be awesome, that would make it more competitive

It would also make it less relevant to your driving skill.

Rank by car sounds like a great idea. They really should do this. For all the good cars, after a while, there will be sufficient competition. They could group extremely similar cars all together.

Rank by car, i'll vote yes on that. For the regional rankings i'll pass. A ranking for the people who use cockpit view and race stock cars (only change of oil and colour) and don't use ASM sounds good too.
I could go on and on, but any ranking option can be okay in my book (even regional ones, i just wouldn't use it)
Greetings stano(give us more optional rankings)666

they need to only allow downgrading BHP to it stock BHP. so if the car is 300 BHP the minimum BHP is 300
