I thought everyone else was convinced its a Porsche 996?? I am for sure... Acura 3.2CL has a square ish headlight - the one on the cover of GT3 is unmistakeably porsche. I say "unmistakeably" - obviously someone has mistaken it...

There were two different versions the US version had a taillight on the cover not a headlight.

Finally others who agree with me :D

"Weren't the only Porsches in GT3 had the title of RUF due to stupid licensing and money wanted by Porsche?"

Also Viper,

In the inside of the booklet it gives credit to Acura for letting them use it on the cover.

I don't doubt you but where?

I'm pretty sure the car on GT1 cover is a Camaro. To me it's somewhat obvious... The PAL cover has a GT logo craved into a tire, wanna try to guess what brand/model/size it is? :dopey:

I think in the very back, I don't currently have the booklet on me but it says it in there. If you have a copy make a quick read through and you'd see it. I'm not trying to point out you're wrong, but I remember reading it somewhere.

It says and "Thank you to American Honda Motor Co., Inc. for use of the Acura CL Type-S for the package front."

well you did put headlight in your original post...

anyone got a picture of the US version of GT3 then - havent seen that one..

It's on the First Page, it's the Red Cover.

I believe the red cover was the GT3 that came bundled with PS2 hardware in North America. The standalone NA versions looked like this:

"Thank you to American Honda Motor Co., Inc. for use of the Acura CL Type-S for the package front."

I don't know about the others, but the GT1 cover is clearly a Camaro, not a Corvette or an NSX.

Like this, but with less of those crappy decals:

Dude, the Acura is on GT3's cover, capnlarge was referring to GT1's cover.

I got an email from SCEA, but it was pretty much just an automated response, I sent them another one asking for a real answer....the wait continues.

the "side scoop" as u call it is not the wind blowing against the tire. everyone can see that impression. as ive said about 10 times, they are directly under the side view mirror. unless u say that they are the crack for the door (which would be an odd shaped door), they have to be scoops.

I still don't see any side scoops. All I see are contour lines from the tarp being blown against the car by the fans.

Hmm, anyone that does not see how the cover of GT1 is NOT a Camaro: A. Doesn't deserve to play Gran Turismo. B. Really doesn't know much about Cars, let alone simple body shape/outline.

I'm not trying to be a dick, but it's plain and simple, and highly obvious...

Until you can show me more definitive proof that it is NOT a Camaro I will continue you to back my statement (as will several other people) that it IS a Camaro. Simple body shape and outline are an exact match up of a '96 Camaro. This coming from the same guy whom I backed up on the fact that it was an Acura CL on the NA version of GT3.

Yes.

And I believe the '96 is the 30TH Anniversary right? If so, then it provides some more proof of my prediction of it being a 30TH Anniversary under that silly-silver-controversial-car-cover. (Say that Ten Times fast.)

((Again, I'm not arguing with any of you guys, this is just for further posts for kids who don't know much.))

You obviously don't know much either. The '97 Camaro was the 30th Anniversary ed.(93-96 had the same body style), right before the restyled the front end. I'm not trying to argue either just defend my statement. (Nor am I trying to be a dick.)

Ahh, I was wondering which was the 30th, But cars that are labeled as one year usually come out the year before?

For Example: One of my friends bought a 05 Mustang GT in 2004. Therefore you could make a statement about being an '04 car. Though it's not labeled as an '04 car.

The '05 Mustang came out on the Anniv. of the '64 1/2 Mustang, April of 1964. Since it was loosely based off of the '64 Stang what better time to release it. The 30th Anniv. Camaro came out in the middle of '97 as a '97 model.

P.S. I envy your friend the '05 Mustang is a beautiful car and the GT is a beast.

Ok thanks, I was just wondering if they actually made the 30th Anniv. in '96, but it was made IN '97.

Coo, I can finally rest in peace! ;)

Ok so now you agree that its a Camaro then? Or what about a Mitsu GTO?
