I'm gonna have to try this. Tomorrow night. When I'm sitting at home by myself. On christmas eve. Good times.

...

...

Good times. :(
aww, come over to my place!

we got turkey and cake.

I like the effect of a British track looking like a Japanese one after he drank. I think we've all had those sorts of nights...

Seriously, don't drink and drive.

And the driver, after the drink, seemed more chubby for me....i have a suspicion that's not AMO :)

Funny thing, I thought that too. I went in a GT5 simulator once with 'beer goggles', it gave you the visibility of someone double the legal limit. It was quite hard.

This is brilliant, albeit a bit exaggerated. But yeah, a major middlefinger to drinking and driving in real life.

I'd love to try it though, while gaming that is. I tend to perform better in games after a beer, or two. I've always wondered what my laptimes are like once I pass a certain limit.

Yes, this was on TV and in most newspapers.
Too many idiots left on the road that can destroy other people's lives.

Some time ago there was this drunk kid in an Audi R8 that crashed into a woman's car. He then tried to hide the crashed car, thinking he could get away with it ...

I support the message the ad presents, keep drinking & driving in games only.

But the execution wasn't too good imo, Under 1 promille doesn't get you that drunk.

Might do a comparison myself that's more true to life. Do a lap around the ring sober, drink like 6 bottles of beer, do another, drink another 6 and do a lap. Or every 3 beers or so.

He looked out of his face , had to laugh when tried to sit down and nearly collapsed on to the wheel. Probably the only time a helmet would be useful while playing GT6 :dopey:.

What is 1 promille? Normally anything over 3 beers for me and it's time to switch GT off, although it did look an interesting way of making A-spec more interesting ;).

But yeah no excuse for drinking and driving in real life.

I think that was a bit of over exaggeration.
In summer I tested this theory albeit on F1 2011 game. When totally sober I posted a lap time on Singapore circuit, I chose it for being the hardest and most unforgiving. I drank about half a litre of 40% vodka over an hour and then tried my hand at setting a lap time. It improved be over 0.6 seconds (both lap time were the best I could manage at that time). (Using G27 Wheel)

I suppose that guy is either really bad at drinking and gets drunk really quick or the whole thing was over exaggerated just to portray the effects of alcohol. Though I'd like to see a proper, realistic representation.

He drank a very unhealthy amount of alcohol in short amout of time and he don't know what he ate (food and drinking are related) so we can't be sure if it was exaggeration or not

Great ad though. Without using the same means the effect is the same. Very well thought out

For a real representation look in the news and all the family's destroyed because some idiot thought it was okay to drive after a few.

I don't drive at all after any amounts of booze. If I ever did and was still legal but i killed a Son / daughter / mum or dad I would always think what if?

I'm setting up an "alco-ride" online lobby at 1st of January. Some of my comrades told they're are happy to join in. :D

Of course, do not drive when drunk IRL. You have simulators to know what does it feel like.

I think this ad is brilliant and maybe even one of the most effective road safety ad without any shocking images shown 👍 .

Looked kinda dramatized. I don't doubt the negative effects of alcohol when driving, but yet again, I don't drink so I don't really know.

@e-racer thats put a downer on me going out tonight. Its not that i don't drink and drive. Driving while hung over is bad enough, running from a one night stand lol.

Good advert, needs international coverage now!

The best part is the racing suit get-up...

...then wearing only socks.

This year was the year for prankvertising, so not many opportunities for a horrible road safety PSA, but next year scarevertising is tipped to dominate. I am truly terrified of what road safety ads could come from scarevertising:scared:

Reminds me of when I was grinding Indianapolis in GT5 for credits while half asleep. I woke up when my steering wheel was shaking violently after smashing into something lol

Drunk (video game) driving is one of my favorite things. Video games are how you can do things you can never do in real life (jump a Ferrari at Flugplatz while plastered, die 18 times in ten minutes eating grenades, jump off buildings, etc).

I like my license and car, and I'm not about to risk it in real life, but I'll happily hop in the cockpit while under the influence. I'm not going to say I'm better, but even after getting a ride home from a night out, I'm still a passably good driver in GT.

Reminds me of that Entourage episode where they were freaking out about how to get stoned before competing in a Madden tournament. (That, I'm positive, makes me better at video games in general.)

Remember kids, drunk driving is incredibly dangerous and you'll die unless you have a reset button. I've lost a few friends already (6 in the past 4 years alone), a few are in jail (3 right now, one of which is facing a minimum 25 years after he rolled his car drunk and killed his girlfriend), and dozens have lost their licenses. It's not worth it, just get a ride. Even if you're fine, even if it's just a block, you never know when a cop will decide to give you a set of bracelets, relieve you of your license, impound your car, make your friends walk, and give you a free ride to the nearest precinct.

Ok so was out for a good 4 hours, spent a fair bit but still killing the career and seasonal grinding. Its not an excess but i feel more concentrated and awake, nothing's spinning or long distance.

Was to cold to stay out long but I would never consider driving now, that just stupid, would be way over the limit. People who drive drunk deserve to lose there license and possibly there life (depending on circumstance). Yet people watch vids like this and think cool/like but don't take it on board.

Ps thank god for spell check as i couldn't spell necessary without it.

Great video but these don't change the minds of idiots.Driving under the influence of anything is moronic along with being fatigued. My brother learned the last one the hard way, rolled a company pickup truck end over end after nose-diving off the highway doing 110km/h.Only reason he lived was the airbag saved his face from smashing the wheel. He was so disorientated the only thing he cared about for 5minutes was the ruined pizza he had in the passanger seat :D

Sorry I forgot to add that I'd never drive under the influence... not even after a small beer or a glass of wine. All I wanted to say is that I'm not that bad of a driver even after few drinks but I'll never test that theory in reality.

Stay sober people!!!
