I want to play GT the way it was meant to be played. Remember when the only reason you played GT was to feel as if you were racing with a real car with real life modifications and limitations? When a car you really enjoyed driving would be the target for your friend to find something to race against it.
I want to do half hour long races. SRF off, GR real, no penalties, and heavy damage. You will bring a car that you believe will be competitive at a certain lap time limit. The only rule is no tolerance for going over the lap time limit. If a competitor runs a lap during the race faster than the limit we set, they must leave the race immediately or be banned/blacklisted from racing with us. To enforce this, we will have an observer for each race. Observer duty will either be volunteered for or go to whoever has done it the least. Observers will report on the leaders of the race, and disqualify anyone who breaks the lap time limit. Lobby settings will be game quality high and mic quality very high.
The course and lap time we'll race I would post on my GT5 message board. The winner of each race chooses the next course and the lap time. Remember to keep the lap time limit over what your car will run on the course.
I'm doing this in hopes of being able to run realistic setups that are on Comfort soft or sports hard tires. However, you can bring whatever you want as long as it doesn't go faster than allowed.
I would like to do this every other day. I live on the west coast of the US, so races will occur in the afternoon/evenings of North America. The winner of each race will choose the time of the next race that will happen two days later, the course, and the lap time limit. This needs to happen before midnight after the race, or I will do it myself.
What should this kind of competition be called? GT5 bracket racing? Does anyone else race GT5 online like this? Do you want to participate in this? I'll update this post with the first race details after I get some replys.
