GT Racing - GT1, GT3, Blancpain Endurance Series & National GT SeriesSports Cars

Well, we’re just about there.

GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS will continue to set the global standard in multi-class GT3 racing this season. A 59-car field has been assembled for the Endurance Cup, a number that will grow even further for the marquee CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa (25–29 June), while the Sprint Cup also returns to full strength thanks to an expanded 41-car grid. The Bronze Cup class will skip the opening Sprint meeting at Brands Hatch due to space restrictions, with a 32-car field set to contest this event.

The entry lists deliver an even greater level of manufacturer participation. All nine of last year’s contenders return with Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Ford, Lamborghini, McLaren, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche strongly represented. They are joined by Corvette, which is present for the first time since 2014. These are the teams that will chase victory in 2025.

I booked my flight and hotels in Cologne, so I've now got my whole Nürburging 24h and Spa 24h double-header booked

Turns out that there's no decent flights from Scotland to Cologne on my planned day of travel, but fortunately there's a perfect flight the day before, and I had already had that day booked off from work as well, so I'm going to spend a day in Cologne before heading to the Ring. Pity I'm not able to go to the Ring a day early, but I need to remind myself that the Nürb trip is only the first part of the trip, and hence I don't want to overdo it (like I did last year!).

As for the Nürburgring 24h, it was amazing to be on the grid at the start of the race last year, but it was so incredibly busy that I didn't get to see much of the actual grid. I also didn't realise that spectators can actually get trackside at various locations around the circuit for the parade lap(s), which looks incredible. Does anyone have any experience of this, and/or recommendations? I know it's possible to get onto the trackside at Steilstrecke and Metzgesfeld, but I think Hatzenbach might be the best bet for a spot near the paddock:

Shame about the restriction at Brands Hatch, but I am still very much looking forward to that weekend; will definitely be there Sunday and I am debating driving down on Saturday as well.

"Update in the FIA GT World Cup 🚨

Torque sensors, devices enabling monitoring of powertrain parameters on track, will be mandatory in this year’s FIA GT World Cup, held as part of the Macau Grand Prix.

Torque sensors offer very high accuracy in measuring power, allowing the FIA to ensure that the power of each car does not exceed the Balance of Performance-allocated value and that variables such as atmospheric conditions do not become a factor."

"The No. 2 Haupt Ford Mustang GT3 received severe damage in a crash at Pflanzgarten in qualifying for 70. ADAC Westfalenfahrt. Nico Bastian is okay, but he, Arjun Maini, Dennis Olsen and Frank Stippler will not start the Nürburgring Langstrecken Serie opener."

Just catching up to speed with the series.
The DTM has grown to eight manufacturers in 2025. Aston Martin joins the exciting field, as the Comtoyou Racing team from Belgium makes its debut in the series with two Aston Martin Vantage GT3.

Plus one
The Audi flag continues to be flown in the DTM, as the manufacturer lines up with a crowd favourite. Ricardo Feller starts in an R8 LMS GT3 Evo2

Looking forward to this - starting right now!!

I watched the last one at Donington and was there at Turn 1 when the Gotz/Tse Mercedes went off into the gravel right infront of me... hoping there's no repeat; and I also wish Team Abba Racing better luck than last time too, when they lost P3 right at the death last time; I was in their pit garage when Sam Neary's brake disc exploded, and I was absolutely gutted for them.

I'd love to go back, but the next one is the season decided in October - I had a pass for that too, but I couldn't make it due to severe weather; and October is not a good time to have a race in the UK! I might aim for Brands Hatch in August, would love to see that circuit in the flesh.

For me still feels weird seeing GT cars at Donington. They all look good though. Perfect conditions.

Ooft! Poor rejoin from Topham in the Barwell Lamborghini! Penalty for that, surely!

edit: Apparently not!

With over a hour left of racing, the Jann Mardenborough #64 Mustang is currently in 14th place. Thomas Drouet is behind the wheel.

The #65 sister car is down in 29th place.

Add an Audi to the GT3 field for the Silverstone 500 this weekend. Season debut for the Ferrari as well.

I'm rather partial to a GT3 R8 (especially in its latter guise), so this is a welcome addition. Hope this car is still on the grid when the Championship gets to Brands Hatch later in the year.

(Very surprised the team are running the Audi and not one of their Corvettes though)

I'm sorely tempted to come down to Brands Hatch this year, and the new GT3 additions are both very welcome!

Sadly I think the Steller Audi (along with the Paradine & Century BMWs) will only be one-off guests and Brands will be the regular contenders.

I'm thinking the GTWC Europe event will be the one to go to - this year I don't think I can make but provisionally putting it on the calendar for next season if the grid is as strong and diverse.
