So many penalties for the GT3 field, it really decided the race rather than anything ontrack.
Yes, it wasn't a particularly great watch to be honest.

As a Team Abba Racing fan, it was particularly difficult to watch. I thought that maybe they had stolen a march on the field by a judicious choice of timing for pit stops etc., and Sam Neary's drive when he was in the lead was absolutely brilliant - taking over 7s lead on the field was incredible. And then he trips over a back marker (which, admittedly, looked a bit clumsy - but, it wasn't all that bad IMO), and they get a big penalty for it which wrecked their race.

Some of the penalties that arise from FCYs are also pretty harsh IMO, but I suppose it boils down to being super-attentive at all times and your team not making silly mistakes with pit stops etc.

Great photos @tbtstt 👍

Will you be attending the Spa 24h by any chance?

Speaking of which, they just released the 76-car Entry List for the Spa 24h this afternoon:

Sadly not because - as you have pointed out - that entry list is mega.

(I'll be at Super Touring Power that weekend, so at least I will be near cars!)

SRO broadcasts their Friday program on Twitch:

Not sure if this happens worldwide, but seen it multiple time for the North American side, they're at Sebring this weekend.

Just been watching the Nürburgring 24H Qualifier race - well, the second of the weekend as there was two races back-to-back this weekend.

Patric Niederhauser and Laurens Vanthoor win both races in the Scherer PHX Porsche 911

It was a Porsche 1-2-3 in the second race, with the #33 Falken in P2, and #911 Manthey (Grello) in P3

The #14 Mercedes of Fabian Schiller had a nightmare, as they got a 33s penalty for a short pitstop - 0.3s too short  They also had an unsafe release as a result, but didn't get hit was a separate penalty for that.

Can't wait for the N24

Second race of the day for the British GT Championship on in 25 mins at Oulton Park

Richard and Sam Neary got an excellent 4th place in Race 1 this morning after starting P9. Starting P8 in Race 2, and the weather is expected to be rainy.

Coverage starting in 2 mins from now.

Were there any BMW's in these races? I've casually watched both replays as I was doing other things and didn't see any. I think I saw one Aston or maybe two and one Ferrari.

Barwell are the best, do what they do and pit for slicks, 90 sec later the guys that switched to slicks are now screwed since its raining again. Brilliant color commentary

Yeh, there were no BMW M4 GT3s... I don't know why though, however there is supposedly going to be one ROWE Racing BMW in the race.

Given that the Spa 24h is the following weekend, I presume they might be focussing on that - that and the LM 24h the weekend before the N24 too.

Yeh, terrible move to go onto slicks - and Team Abba Racing fell for it as well; looks like the car was done anyway, but a disappointing end to the weekend for them after a great Race 1.

It was amazing to me that the track was gone so fast after a little light rain. At the start it was at the crossover time and ready for slicks but they have to look at a radar and see what is coming. Using the phone app where you hold the phone out and count the drops on the screen isnt ideal.

I just booked my train tickets to the Nurburgring and Spa Francorchamps - that's the last piece of my holiday planning done, and now I am at the mercy of the weather and the local buses 😅

Having been to both places recently, I'm confident that the journeys will be smooth, and know the right buses to be on etc. - however this is the first time I'll be travelling to Spa Francorchamps from Germany, and so I ended up paying for a more expensive train to give myself some flexibility. The trip definitely feels more real when you have actual train tickets in your hand!

All that remains is for me to buy some new equipment, specifically new shoes - I did something like 110 miles for my Nurb trip last year, and so with the Spa 24h on top, it's essential that I have a really good pair of walking shoes.

My pass for both the N24 and Spa 24h arrived this morning

It turns out that this year there is also a car parade in Adenau, but unfortunately I only arrive the day after :(

Last year, I deliberately arrived a day early in anticipation of there being a car parade in Adenau, but there was nothing.

This might explain why the hotels in Adenau were fully booked so early this year.
