Looks like some kind of major failure happened inside the HRT Mustang. :odd:

RIP Skippy - the replay of the car being towed was pretty horrible as well.

Thankfully Chris Mies is OK, though it looked like a horrific outcome nevertheless...
 
After seeing the remains of the Mustang, as well as the replay from the Huracan that was right behind Mies, I absolutely do not envy the HRT crew that has to deal with the aftermath.

Edit: Looks like the KTM is down as well.

I’d guess Ford will be sending a bit more Mustangs next year.
 
I wonder why they bother starting at 5.45 when it's still dark, but it's light already with less than 50 mins run.

I know that roos can jump on the track any time, but at least it's light - and IIRC, it's not dark by the time the race ends either, so an extra hour at the end would still avoid racing in darkness.

The sight of the 64 in the pits with the roo blood all over the tarmac was... :sick:

From what I recall with the Bathurst 1000, I believe it’s the same for the 12H, the finish time was to keep it from running into the local news. Also remember it’s summertime. So at least getting a bit of darkness running into sunrise looks cool. ;)
