I just thought I would keep this separate from the main discussion to find out from those who have Pre-ordered which Version you have gone for and why you have ordered early or will buy on release.

I am really looking forward to GT Sport, it looks so much better than a year ago. 4k HDR Graphics, great online play, Powerful Scapes/Photomode, Arcade mode, PSVR and I really enjoyed the beta in the end after the last few updates. I will wait and see what future campaign modes come but I think there will be some sort of seasonal (online) or additional offline races/play added. Yes it has been years coming!.... but I think now this is all set up on this Hardware (PS4/Pro) we will see more tracks and cars DLC added throughout the coming months. Maybe even a season pass ..who knows? All this was enough for me to have the game on Day 1 and start taking Scapes and getting on the PSVR.



Did you go for the Digital or the Disc and which version?
I have pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe Version (UK).

Pre-ordered GTS collector's edition (Europe) for 110€. Why? Because I want to have access to the widest content possible from day one and because of the exclusive book. I don't care about the miniature car (AMG GTS I think... I might even sell it).

Looking forward to Online, Livery Editor and Scapes/Photomode. These are the modes I'll be spending my time on.

I too hope to get more tracks and cars in the upcoming months after release.
 
Not pre-ordering after being disappointed in the past. Have no plans on getting it at all actually. The only thing that will sell it to me is if the online racing options are as good as if not better than GT5/GT6, & if Project CARS 2 is full of bugs & unplayable online. There are still no decent racing games with great online options, had to go back to GT6 on PS3 the other day for some decent racing.

I am going to ignore this Mr @VBR :P:tup: I know you will end up getting this game just for your new talent of taking screenshots/photos.. All those Scapes? :) I think the online will get better as they tweak it, and as you progress it will separate the drivers closer together with the levels of SR/DR. + you should have custom lobbies at some point. Maybe pick it up when the price drops? :cheers:

Probably not gonna pre-order sadly as I'll probably have military service during the whole of October and most of November. Standard edition for me. Can't afford the upgrade.

Initially I pre ordered the Collectors Edition but the online reseller had to cancel that order and then I re ordered the pre order GT Sport Digital Deluxe edition. No hard copy anymore because someone (who know who!) convinced me to go for digital only ;)

I also need this one in my collection. I think I will primarily enjoy everything except the online racing (open lobby). Really looking forward to this one because of the same reasons you already wrote down.

@CodeCmdr : My CE edition pre order was also 110 Euro because the online store was 129 - 15%. 15% was a season discount something.

While I love looking at screenshots & especially in game photos, I dislike taking photos. As pretty as some of them are I also hate the scapes, as there's no skill in trying to create realistic shots if all the backgrounds are actually real. I hope whoever sets up the GT Sport Realistic Photo Thread bans scapes entirely, as it makes the whole point of taking realistic shots null & void. You're right, I will probably pick it up in the sale when it drops to £9.99, or maybe before if P CARS 2 is rubbish online. Want to get back into some serious online racing, & need a game with common sense no-brainer options as found in GT5/GT6!

Yes you can just move the car/s and take a snap shot in Scapes but they have also included a very powerful camera and the photomode 'within Scapes.' This means there will be some huge differences in photos from the settings available...so aperture/blur, shutter speed etc can be applied with a photo realistic background rather than a very detailed graphical background. I didn't know you disliked taking photos. I have also pre-ordered PCars2 but I think overall I am more looking forward to this game but will enjoy both I am sure.

....Oh well..I tried..I will watch this space ;) 👍
 
I think I'll pre-order the steelbook edition, to get some of the extra goodies, but the collectors edition does sound very tempting with the Apex book. As an automotive design student, I'm curious to see what the book has to offer. However, I'm hesitant because I'm not sure GT Sport as an overall package is worth a £100 investment, so I might just settle for the steelbook. Things may change later down the line if they do reach the 500 car mark, as they are planning, but this is PD we're talking about.

So what should I go for? Steelbook or collectors?

The part I'm most hyped about? Has to be Scapes to be honest. I've always loved the idea of automotive photography, and the fact there will be 1000 plus locations is simply mind boggling. They might not be fully 3D, but the backdrops themselves far surpass anything that has been achieved in photo travel in my opinion. Scapes is such a simple, but incredibly effective evolution of photo travel.

The livery editor is also a part I'm really hyped to try out. I'm going to kickstart a racing team for my crew, the Gaming Welders, so designing a livery unique to the team will be a very fun experience. I did something similar in Need For Speed 2015, but that game never had the infrastructure for a racing team. GT Sport seems more fitting.

I have bought it day 31/07 and i have it, it stand in the notification list. I have installed it , uninstalled and installed again. It is not in the capture gallery, only notifications as GT Sport Digital Deluxe Theme.
 
I preordered the limited edition the same day I picked up my preorder of Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy (the last game I preordered was GT6 15th anniversary edition). Europeans are lucky as they get the collector's edition. I would've got that one.

You'll have to jump through hoops to cancel the standard copy to the deluxe. They will give you the whole spiel about doing you a favor and will put your account on a "list". This is assuming you're in the USA.
