Lolz. That's the A-1 test. I got a .001 at A-1 and A-4, but in the end i did it. Unfortunately these were practices only on my PS2...i have no PS1 Memory Card. I had A-1 to 7 golded. Damn you A-8 !!!

Well, do the times count even if i did it on PC? Cause i can only save my progress if i'm playing on PC.

If they do, then i can post you my B license times...

Yes, go ahead. 👍

Your times have been updated to post 1.

I hadto recalculate your B and A Overall times.

MadMax

Updated few of the licence times I had alredy done, because I did those few a bit faster in this GT1 Starter pack.

Good thread, will post my times after I get the PS1 out tomorrow. A bit off-topic, but I've recently been trying to get all golds on GT2 on the PSP. Did that 2 days ago. IB-6 & IB-8 are a ******* pain without an analog stick. IC-4 was the worst. I must have tried that 50+ times lol

Your times have been added to post 1 ,
I took the liberty to add together your B and A licence times to get you licence specific Total times.
And to add together your IA times to get you a International A Licence Gran Turismo Time.

About the PAL times, you can post them here.
I will update licence specific times which are faster than those you've alredy posted.
I would appriciate if you'd mark the times that need to be updated somehow.

Well, I've finally dug out all my old PS gear and, for the first time since I started playing GT, golded all the licences.

The additional good news is that, quite some time ago, jrose sent me his memory cards (I believe there's some GT2 on there too) and, in the process of determining how to record my own replays properly, I'm finally able to record his too :D

In the meantime, here's my times, all from an original NTSC-J copy played on an NTSC-J PS2:

B1 - 34.464
B2 - 26.301
B3 - 28.137
B4 - 24.737
B5 - 23.547
B6 - 26.244
B7 - 25.562
B8 - 1'18.246
B-Licence Total Time - 4'27.238

A1 - 32.345
A2 - 24.674
A3 - 42.745
A4 - 37.376
A5 - 30.075
A6 - 25.955
A7 - 29.211
A8 - 1'05.495
A-Licence Total Time - 4'47.876

IA1 - 1'03.925
IA2 - 1'26.049
IA3 - 1'57.274
IA4 - 1'18.169
IA5 - 1'19.980
IA6 - 1'28.234
IA7 - 2'05.782
IA8 - 1'55.311
IA-Licence Total Time - 12'34.724

GT Licence Total Time - 21'49.838

(more replays on the way)

Feels odd.

I remember not being able to get A-3 back in the day. I remember having to wallride just to pass IA-7. And yet now... it's easy. Given that each time you turn a wheel a day goes past, I've averaged no more than 11 attempts for each test (and some I've repeated to get a better video...)

Thanks for the idea for GT Licence Total Time
( I coloured it a little to stand out at the bottom of post #1 )

Good replays there Famine 👍

What's that you say about jrose's memorycards?
Did you alredy upload the replays somewhere?

The feeling when you return to previous GT series games is propably allways the same: "I don't remember this being this easy"

MadMax

I've been playing this a fair bit in the last couple of weeks :D. The thing is, I ran all the licence tests and I didn't do particularly well. I have the original disc but I'm running it on the PS3 with the sixaxis in analogue mode.

Does this affect graphics and game play? I'd be happy to submit times but I would prefer it if they were gold! Do you require replays for each licence?

Dan.

He sent me some memory cards a while ago. It wasn't until I started another GT1 project recently that I realised I had a nice way to actually record his replays already.

So when I'm done with mine, I shall upload his too.

Practice , practice and once more practice.

To answer the question , I don't know.
I play GT and GT2 on PS3 using D-pad / X,O,[],Triangle. (the same way I originally played them)

There is an option in playing settings of PS3 called PS-smoothening-something , that can make a difference in graphics.

About submitting times and replays..
The times don't need to be gold times for being added to the post 1.
And you aren't reguired to submit replays to prove the times.

Famine , I'm looking forward for the rest of your replays. 👍

I can only play my NTSC-J games on my NTSC-J PS2 - and I'm hoping to get hold of an NTSC-UC one shortly to play my NTSC-UC games :D

But I don't see much of a difference between PS3 PAL GT1 and PS2 PAL GT1. In fact I only play GT1 on the PS3 because it saves me changing the discs more often - GT1 and 2 in the PS3, 3 and 4 in the PS2 :D

Famine , I'm looking forward for the rest of your replays. 👍

I've just uploaded my IA7 which I'm quite pleased with - a 2'05.7 clean run... There's a little hiatus now as the DVD+RW I recorded all my replays onto has had a bit of a fit but I'm relatively sure I can rescue it...

I've removed these from your post. You know why and I'm getting a bit bored of telling you. I don't care whether it's carelessness or defiance, the next "slip" gets 30pt your way.

No, I dont know why. What is wrong with it? I cant use links? Why? There is an option with link. Could I use image links? Its stupid, because the site would be loading a long time!

So the links are removed, how can I see, that the times other members are real? Its an easy way to cheating! because why I must get my time for eg. 0:32.000, which its is real, so I can write 0:31.000. On other forums adding links is a normal way to say "Im not cheater".

*facepalm*

It has nothing to do with showing images and you know it. You have tons of them in your profile albums, don't you? Have I removed those? No.

Read the sticky at the top of this forum again. And the GT2 forum. Take it in, again. Comprehend it, again. We have discussed this before. Do not try my patience again.

Good question ,
I do not question times , that are posted in this thread.
But I encourage people to be honest about their times.

Woah, what a difference, thanks for the tip. It was like playing Outrun before, I knew it wasn't right. It's called 'Smoothing' and it's found in the options menu when the PS button is pressed - right under the 'Controller Settings'.

In all it's smoothed glory.....my all-gold B-Licence times..

FastasF*ch
B1 34.473
B2 26.363
B3 28.093
B4 24.778
B5 23.606
B6 26.250
B7 25.549
B8 1'19.205
T 4'28.317

More to follow when I gold them. It's fantastic playing this game again, it's been so long.

You're welcome. I didn't remember that it could be found by pressing the PS button. :odd:
I meant originally the same setting which can be found from the 2nd column left (the one after Power off/user name select)

Game Settings> PS Upscaler , PS Smoothing :D

Your B licence times have been added to post 1.
Good luck and alot of patience to golding the remainíng licences. 👍

It feels good to play the older GT's now and then to take a break from GT5P

So all members, whose have just came to us, can add a fictional times and we cant see that, they are real? Great, great site and rules

I assume this is sarcasm?

No, he's being deliberately stupid.

His links were removed because the links contained text telling everyone how he plays GT1/2 in direct contravention of the sticky at the top of the forum which says that if you discuss emulation you get banned. Having been told about this quite clearly before.

Of course, being lectured on cheating by someone who has stolen the game is its own little world of funny.

In other news, it looks like I'm going to have to redo the B & A licences to get some replays, annoyingly.

So, to pull some replays out I had to rerun the B-licences (now added to my post). This means I accidentally beat some of my previous times, so B4-B8 (along with B total and GT total) all have to be updated in post 1. Sorry.

Edit: I'm afraid I just beat my A2 and A6 times too (along with A total), so those need to be update too.

No problem.

For future updates I'd prefer that times would be in a new post ,
instead of being edited in a previous one. (you can do boght ofcourse)

Good videos there Famine 👍 👍

[challenge]

I see there some time left in your B1 and B2 times.
I ended those two barely over the finishline doing a 180 or 90 degree turn using the grass (for more oversteer) + full brake lock.
[/challenge]

I am currently in the middle of pretty mutch impossible mission of completing GT1 with minimum day count. (along with all gold licences and 100% win ratio)
I'm doing the same with GT3 at the same time and find it alot easyer because of the ability to retry a licence test without +1 day like in GT1)

Roger. I doubt I'll be doing them again though - I was after the videos for a completely different reason - but it's good for others to know :D

Meh, maybe I'll do them in PAL and NTSC/UC too :D

I'm doing the same with GT3 at the same time

You going to join my club? :D

I didn't know there was sutch a club ,
but now that I do I'll definatedly join it and post a screenshot once I'm done. 👍

I'm also aiming to complete the game with minimum car count and minimum Cr. use.
This means , that I'm going to make a plan of which cars I need to win in order to maintain minimum Cr. usage.
Not going to buy cars from other memory cards or selling prizecars from garage.

Hmm , you have the PAL and NTSC/UC version too?
Could I ask you to check if the GT1 Licence Gold/Silver/Bronze times are same in all versions?

I've been planning to add those gold/silver/bronze times for each individual licence test in post 1 ,
but I haven't been able to verify if the times are same in all versions.

MadMax

I can tell you without hesitation that they aren't.

In PAL and NTSC-J, the gold times are all the same, a couple of silvers differ and some pass/bronze times do too.

B-3:
Bronze time: 30.000s (PAL); 29.000s (NTSC-J)
IA-4:
Bronze time: 1'24.000s (PAL); 1'23.000s (NTSC-J)
Silver time: 1'20.500s (PAL); 1'19.300s (NTSC-J)
IA-7:
Bronze time: 2'14.000s (PAL); 2'11.000s (NTSC-J)
Silver time: 2'10.000s (PAL); 2'07.700s (NTSC-J)

I shall check NTSC-UC in due course.
