@JohneyPixel We're doing the Clubman Cup events currently. If you go back to the first page there's a list of cars available on day one, pick one for the price listed there (not the price you actually pay when you buy it, since you're probably not on day one in your game.) Use the change you have left out of 10,000Cr, plus the winnings we got from the Sunday Cup events (12,000Cr) to tune your car up for the Rome Short event in Clubman. After that you get another 5,000Cr to tune with for Grindelwald, after that you get another 6,000Cr to tune with for Rome Circuit.
And
@Wankel3 yes I'm cutting that corner... I'm new to arcade mode but doesn't it invalidate a lap time if you cut a corner you're not supposed to (like the first hairpin at Laguna Seca?) No wallriding is about the only firm no-no I'm using. Basically, if it looks like something a real race car would try to do, I do it. No real race car would willingly drive over sand and grass, but over a bit of painted track, why not? AI does it in Sim mode as well. Also, for the first corner at Rome, I also cut that to get close to the metal barrier on exit to keep my speed at about 121mph rather than going wide and scrubbing down to 118mph or so.
Also, not sure being caught between gears is a bad thing there, since whenever I made the corner high in 2nd all I got was wheelspin, but when I could keep it low in 3rd, at least I got grip, if not much power. My ghost for a while made it through there in 3rd so I could see how much better it pulled.
Edit: actually just ran behind the AI at Clubman's Rome Circuit... and it looks like they try to avoid running over the black+yellow striped parts, for the most part. A few of them will usually have 2 tires on it, but I'm guessing only because they're fighting for position next to the other AI and kind of get forced onto the line that takes them into the black+yellow...
So damn, that turns Rome into a completely different track for me... I definitely cut straight through the black+yellow after the first hairpin, keeping my speed to a minimum of 67mph in doing so, while the wider line, in addition to being longer, forces me down to 64mph... not sure it's 0.8 second different, but it is a lot of time. So, two wheels on the track rule, and black+yellow isn't track. Guess I'll have to try Rome again... or just leave my time with an asterisk and DQ me from the round, if I don't get to it. (It's tough to go over something again when you've already put, I'll be honest, about 80 laps into going for the perfect time... not to mention I'll have to un-learn a bunch of braking points, corner speeds and lines, after burning them into my subconscious reflexes...) I was pretty happy with my time... 1:31.953 I was hoping would be competitive with Wankel3's rotar2...
