I like Mario 64 better.

It didn't need 500+ cars to keep me interested. It didn't need 40+ tracks to keep me going. It didn't need super high end graphics or amazing sound to keep me going.
All it needed was 3 friends, a case of beer, and a large bag or Dorito's and that game could keep you occupied days on end.

What a great game... I almost feel like busting it out again.

I'm actually not surprised by those poll results, because MK takes a lot less skill to master, and one doesn't need as long of an attention span to play it.

However, I agree with what Dave Kosak had to say... it's nearly impossible to compare them, because their appeal is totally different. GT3 is for really getting into the driving experience, while MK is more for sheets and giggles, but it's still a pretty well-crafted game (I remember how much I used to love MK for Super Nintendo).

GT3 only has 180+ cars. But that does not mean it is not a great game. Wait until GT4 comes out. I heard that it is going to be WAY better than GT3 and I most definitely want to get my hands on that game

Agreed. Mario Kart is a rather dumbed down digital bumper car game appealing to people looking for a quick fix. I think it's a fantastic game, but without a group of people it's not much fun for more than a week or two.

Gran Turismo 3 is a captivating game, if you'll let it be. It's great single player, and it's even more fun when you round up some buddies and play linked games. Unfortunately that's a little tough to do.

Thats intresting for sure. I love mario kart, but I don't like it more than gt3.
However, for the public at large, mario kart is a great racing game. Hell, my little brother and I still play it to this day, but gt3... He wouln't touch it with a ten foot pole.

Anyway, I do like mk, but I love gt.

I'm a big MK and GT3 fan. But i'll just mirror what some people have already said. You can't compare the two. MK has strengths that GT3 lacks and vice versa. For what it's worth both game's are equal in their strength to weakness ratio, but that's the only similaritys I can draw.

If I had to vote though GT3 would be my pick. I could live without MK but GT3 is the only true racing console simulator around. Arcade/Go-kart/Smash up games are a dime a dozen it seems especially on Nintendo Consoles.

Mad prop's to the original MK though on the SNES still one of my fave games of all time!

mk is alright untill you get bored with it, which for me only took about 20min, there isnt enough to do in the game and you can beat it in a few hours, the multiplayer is also ok at first and then u get bored with it...
