Great race tonight. Paul, I was putting everything I had at it to try and run you down , but I think you were like 1-1.2 seconds per lap faster with a clean car. Great job running hard with damage. I watched the replay, and we had a good run those first 8 laps, but you could see you were nursing it around. After your pitstop you were just taking the time back. Looking forward to next race. See you all then.

I'm glad there are so many fast racers in this series. Myself not included, of course. My BEST laps were 1.32.5s. I can kind of see where to pull out another .5 seconds to a second, but a 1.30 definitely feels way out of my range. But whoever was getting 1.32s with their broken-a** car...call me impressed lol.

 Thanks for the kind words guys. Ill say now Laguna Seca is not one of my better tracks so I may struggle round here.

It is one of my favorite North American tracks.

Notice I said favorite, not fastest lap. :)

Lol normally im slow at Laguna and SSR5 (Which is on the calendar) compared to other tracks I like, like Nurb GP's, Fugi, Suzuka and Spa (Spa is my best without a doubt, its a shame its not on your list :sly:).

Way to go Paul! 👍

2 from 2 in the pre-season testing has made you the one to beat! :sly: I'm up for the challenge though

Ha Welsh, thanks for painting a bullseye on my rear bumper!.

Is thus basically like the IMSA GR3 Challenge?

Yes, I believe so. The cup 911s that run the challenge gt3 category in ALMS.

Even though I havent attended any of the pre season races, I'm glad they are done. I'm just not used to those particular tracks. And with the pre season at the nurb, I just wasnt used to that specific layout.

The tracks on schedule I'm more comfortable with. :) Well, minus SSR5 :(

Cool! and only if we had Sebring in this game! I could tell by your avatar that your a sebring fan :sly:

I took some pics of Nurb, they are pretty rubbish but oh well.

Heres the spread heading into T1.

4 wide into T1.

008-1.jpg

The slight nudge from Troylee that caused my damage.

009-3.jpg

Contact between a damaged Leonardo (Both rear wheels after contact in T1) and Cowboys.

014-2.jpg

The spread into the chicane.

018.jpg

A damaged Leonardo struggles to keep his car driving straight and under braking cant stop so the enevitable happens :scared:. (Need new pants Shakunee?). Also pictured is soem contact between Troylee and JochenRindt which sends Jochen into the grass.

019.jpg

Just how lucky Shakunee was .

020.jpg

The carnage caused afterwards.

Ready and waiting for unsupecting leaders ....

My damage finaly caused me to lose the back end on lap 8.

036.jpg

039.jpg

Troylee trying to cut back up the inside of II-NOVA-II and well he forgot the pit wall was there.

049.jpg

A scary moment for Tower Turn 13 after JochenRindt went off in the kink and rejoined a bit carelessley.

052.jpg

054.jpg

A good pass late on by JochenRindt on Leonardo.

059.jpg

060.jpg

My silly attempt at a 1:30 second lap ending badly .

061.jpg

A nice battle late on with Tower Turn 13 and Cowboys.

069.jpg

Until Tower Turn spun :(.

070.jpg

Then came the last lap Cowboys crash which made him very angry. (So I thought id try make it portray his dismay with a filter)

072.jpg

The rear wheel damage as a result.

073.jpg

Now for fun, the 2 wheeling at the chicane competition (Sorry if I didnt get everyones best attempts)

My vote goes to Tower Turn but I gave it my best and JochenRindt put 2 great efforts in 👍.

Thats the end of my photo report the rest are here Ruf RGTs (I had 72 in total but had to cut it down for the post.)

Awesome pics Paul. Sorry I missed the last race I fell asleep on the couch. Got to much sun at Daytona.. Face looks like a tomato. lol I'll be there this weekend for seca...

Thanks theres around 45 more in that link but I think if id put them all in the post the thread would explode .

Troylee was in quite a few due to his late braking attempts that didnt quite work out and I felt really sorry for him when I seen that he in trying to overtake Nova hit the pit wall.. but surely being german your aware that walls there .

Also am away to play at Laguna to see how bad I am there..

Thanks for posting these pictures! Apologies to TT13 for my careless return to the track....I have to remember that the draft keeps people coming up quickly from behind....My Mercedes GP colored RGT was quite the "lawnmower" at the Nurburgring GP/D....Just couldn't seem to make any passes at the Veedol Chicane happen....But that late pass on Leonardo was picture perfect, clean, in control.....A good one, thanks for noticing! Anyway, Laguna will be interesting, not my best track, but I'll put up an effort non the less...Just a question....Is the live qualifying working for us with regards to the grid being proper after the qually time is up? We may want to consider having a 5 or 6 lap mini race as qually, have every one stop one lap before the end, line up in qually order, then finish the race, so that the starting grid will be proper...The other league that I race in does this, and they almost never have any issues with the grid order....Just a thought.
Cheers!

Yeah I tried looking for races other people were having instead of just focusing on my car if everyone likes it ill try do this for every weeks race :).

'tis my home track. Been there many a year. Wish I wasn't so poor these days.
Pictures look neat, checking them out now.

Recruiting you! If you have time (I know pics are time consuming over a 30-min race). Also like the pic of me and someone else cutting the final chicane together! Haha I use interior view and had no idea I was doing that in the heat of battle. Good thing you didn't post that pic here :sly:

Also, we can try that qualy method if we aren't lining up right at the grid. Lousy GT5 glitchiness...grumble grumble.

No that was because you were avoiding JochenRindt under brakes so you ran wide as a result ;). And yeah I usualy have time on a Monday or Tuesday :).

Also went out did 7-10 laps and got a 1:28.6 as my best but on my last lap I was .5 up but ran onto the gravel after the corkscrew and lost a second :(.

So I rekon 27s are going to be the top times and thats what im aiming for :D.

Might want to aim just a little lower than that Paul :sly:

I hit a 27.9 with a few tweaks to my setup :D. (You cant get in the 26s can you! :scared:)

Btw Welsh, you like my pics ;).

Yeah, nice pics Paul. Looks like it was an action packed race for sure 👍

When you posted asking about getting into the 26's at Laguna, the answer would've been 'No', however I spent an hour with it this evening and managed a best lap of 1'26.397s using the following set-up: :)

I will too Welsh your just too fast :p.

I've been keeping an eye on this series, it looks good but it still in a some what problematic time slot. would you guys be open to a reserve driver in this series, I can promise you I won't get tangled up with anyone?

You're free to be a reserve driver. FYI though we have a full list for drivers until they fix the glitch, though, so you wouldn't be able to drive unless a few people have to miss. Once the fix the glitch our current reserve drivers are free to join.

I like your list of tracks and I'm into the one make racing, so I will try to catch the sign up sheet for your next season, even though it will be some time from know.

Well, keep an eye out because if this upcoming maintenance fixes the glitch we can bring you on this season, if you're up for it.

Hey TT13,
May want to consider pushing race back 1 hour to 10pm est and start practice around 9pm due to the Super Bowl on Sunday. Not a big deal for me, but figured I'd throw it out there. See ya Sunday.
