Where was everyone? I know myself, Paul and Franz were missing this week, but what about the others? Maybe it was just the tricky corkscrew that kept some away? If that's the case, might be worth considering 'No Rain' for Monza ;)

Welsh im probs missing every week as im sure you seen me quiting in FMSC and JGTS... And all my other series.

Seems I forgot to post in here, btw 14 is a safe number in public lobbies now. (with voice chat turned off 👍)

I wish you all the best and hope Welsh doesnt walk it .

To prepare for the Monza event, what settings will be used for the weather changes in the room? Might be a good idea to add that information to the OP so that we may adequately practice and prepare...
Thanks!
Franz in NJ

*all weather/time changes where applicable. Weather tires are permitted in rain conditions.
;)

The weather will be random, but will start out dry.

Why not do as some other series do and use live weather from that location? This at least gives people the chance to prepare better for a weather event which is more like real life as we're able to check this in advance of race day :)

Good idea, man. We should considerate this one.

I like it. We all have access to internet...its an easy look.

Maybe add this to the first post with the race information.

Monza Weather Forcast - Sunday Feb' 19th

Looks like a chance of rain anyway 👍 :D

Practice session yielded a best lap of 1'50.8xx I believe on super sticky dry asphalt ;)

It's honestly much easier to randomize the weather. Is there a chance we could do this if I allowed RS tires when it starts raining? Oddly enough, RS seems to be the best choice all the way up until like 50% wet.

It was just an idea, run this how you see fit TT. I wouldn't see the need to allow RS tyres, we can all manage with the Inters and Wets. ;)

Nice Pace Franz 👍

Thanks, really figuring out the manual transmission...Thanks for the advice a few weeks ago....

This will be a very grueling event with lots of tooth-knashing....These cars are very tricky to keep on the track with 85-95% water on the track surface....Even it a straight line, it wants to spin out, and the grass just seems to grab you and suck you into it!!!
Check you're ego at the paddock tonite, fellas, it's gonna be survival of the spinnest!

So what weather settings were decided on in the end? A wet race may mean I can't finish the race due to another series I will be running in at 10pm est.

I was going to start dry and randomize it. Meaning if it rains it rains, if not, that's okay too.

I'll make sure we're done by 9:30ish.

does anyone want to start a little earlier tonight?

I was thinking qualy whenever we get everyone in for 15 min, then race. Possibly before 9pm. Room will be open soon. What do you think>

Just got home from work and gonna have dinner. I'll be in the room at 8:30est for qualifying.

okay. Then I guess we can start at 8:45 and go until about 9:15.

Also, a room is open.

Well, I guess the race played into my hands early on. I could see 'THAT_GUY' had good pace at Monza, but it seems there was an 'incident' at the end of lap 1 causing him to lose ground. My gap to 'Leonardo' grew through the first 6 laps, so I decided I would pit after 7 as I knew that even if people were going to run without stopping, I'd have much better tyres towards the end. As it happens, I guess most were 1 stopping anyway, so gave me a comfortable win. I think 15 laps was quite easily do-able on the 1 set of tyres, however it may have been quite slick for the last few ;)

Good job guys. :)

Good race fellas. Welsh, nice job on fast times and consistent laps. As for me, I was able to reach 3rd place with a good cushion and plenty of tire left up to lap 10 with consistent 1:55 lap times. Unfortunately, I thought a pit stop was mandatory so pitted at lap 10, and lost 2 places in doing so. Live and learn, and know for next race. Again, good Race, and see you all next Sunday at Madrid.

Awesome race guys. I managed to make it cleanly, but it was not enough to escape from That Guy, who gave me some work at the last 3 laps. Very clean battle, man!

Hey Gang,
It looked like a great race from where I wound up, 2 laps down!! I had the PS3 all fired up and ready to go, and at 8:30 when I entered the room, I could take the track, get about 1/2 way around the first lap, and then get kicked offline/disconnected...This happened twice, until I checked the internet connection status and found the dreaded "Nat Type 3" connection....Had to run downstairs, re-boot modem for the house, re-boot the internet switch....Long story short, got one lap in for qually, and didn't realize I started the race on Sports soft tyres, then pitted at end of first lap (after running up the back of 2 cars-Sorry guys), only to be so frazzled that the pit crew installed Sports Softs again....After that, my mental state was fried, and I just resigned myself to trying to stay out of the way! I'll be back stronger next week...By the way, TT13, if you want some helpfull ideas about an almost bullet-proof qualifying procedure, send me a PM...I think we could benefit from "borrowing" a technique that some of the other organized leagues use to insure a clean, correct grid!

Thanks again, and congrats to the podium finishers!

Yes Leo good race! Sorry about the contact on the last corner. It was from my lack of practice this week, car was great on exit but very loose on entering the corner. I almost took out troy in the begining because I couldnt get the car to slow down. Question was the draft set on high because it felt like when you behind someone entering a corner it felted like I was getting sucked in? Also next race please set the after time clock to max. Cant wait til next week!

Sorry guys, it had to do with a number of issues. My game glitched and when I tried to exit the track instead it just took away all my gauges and menus. So I had to restart and I was no longer host, unable to fix everything for the race. Then we had a latecomer and the qualy order got screwed up.

But I think before we backed out, the order was correct, no? I've been told having the practice race (1-lapper) resets all the timing so qualy is correct. I could be wrong. But I was in the right spot, so far as I know. Next week hopefully things are smoother.

Qualifying worked out just fine on the original grid. You don't have to run a 1 lap race though, you can just change track and then back to the track you're racing, or even change damage back to light, then reset to heavy. These all reset any practice times posted I believe. We could have easily got the grid back to normal if we just took a breath and composed ourselves to getting people in order.

No-ones fault, but a good learning experience. Good to have people join the room a little earlier to just in case there are any connection issues to deal with. :)

haha yeah. And when I'm in the process of typing "everyone get in one by one in the grid order" and everyone joins at once...live and learn. Seemed like some had good racing regardless. I'll post the results sometime this week.

With the alms series coming to an end this week, i'd sure like to give this series a try. The only problem is i dont have the car and i never see it in the used section.
