I know what you mean, Kevin. Five-to-eight drivers is a little on the light side for a race series. The reserves and a few of the fulltimers went MIA! Still fun, but I sucked HARD tonight, having not even practiced the track layouts before qualifying. Luckily low attendance allowed me to score some points I didn't deserve, including a podium spot :D

Ehh, I didnt give it a good effort tonight. Car didnt feel the way I wanted it to feel and I felt like I was getting in everyones way. I'll be ready for next week...hopefully.

I apologize guys. It's really not like me to miss an event that I've agreed to participate in. Sadly, I will be in Vegas next weekend and won't be able to attend, but will be around for the remainder of the series. This car is great to drive, but it would be nice to see more interest in the thread through the week with people running a few practice sessions etc.

See you guys in a couple of weeks. :)

Maybe I. An do next weeks race :sly:

Sorry guys, my modem was cutting in and out last nite, lagging pretty badly Car was not reacting online well, so I called it a nite early...Going to Comcast today to pick up a new modem....Was fun to lead a lap or two at Fuji though....

Sorry fellas for missing last nights races. 2 races was alot of points. I spent all weekend putting kitchen cabinets and countertops in our house, and passed out on the couch after dinner. Didnt wake up until 1130. Ill be sure to try and make it next week.

Tower how about posting "spots open" on the title to get some more people up for the series or messaging the people who are signed up and if they don't respond delete them from the list. That way people don't think this is a full series. Just a thought?

I'll do that when I get a chance. I think we have a "full" roster of 12 (to avoid glitchiness), but we're always missing at least four or five. There are some that have never even raced once. I think I'll move those people to reserves.

Hey Gang!
Picked my new "blast" cable modem from Comcast today....Should take care of any issues that I've been having with online play...See you all Sunday for Nurburgring GP/F....I'll be celebrating the first round of the F1 season, which kicks off next Sunday from Australia.....Vettel Uber Alles!!!!!

FREE BEER WITH EVERY SIGN UP

There, we should be in good shape now...

Any of you guys interested in a Group-B rally series? I'm thinking of revamping my old series to include only stock group b cars.

Is there any spare slot left for another driver ? I'm new to GTP, would like to get some experience in racing with proper rules, dun like the dirty racing on most public lobbies :yuck:. Also, here is my id and team name :)

Lukey, you're added.

Someone else is gonna have to run this tonight. Just post the finishing order here and I'll transcribe the points and stuff.

I can host tonight's race. Ill be on around 7:45 and Ill post the room number.

If lap times are 2 minutes I would say do like 20 laps. That should put you around 40 minutes of racing, if everyone's cool with that. Otherwise you can always lob a few laps off.

Ok room up..

Sorry guys, i got disconnected from the lobby server after the race, had a good time, tho my car was rather slow ... my best time was only 2:07, maybe because i don't use abs ... it costs me the race, bumped troy on 2nd turn on 1 st lap, sorry troy, had to drive slowly with heavy left tire damage and went to pit on 2nd lap, it was my 1st race organized by GTP member, looking forward to race again, cheers

Thanks, That Guy. Sorry I didn't make it. I'll be there next week, as far as I know.

Lukey, no contact penalties this race since it was your first, and you apologized/it was not intentional. Just keep in mind that if you do have an incident, you can't pass the driver you hit; you have to give the spot back. You probably did do that, I'm just putting it out there as a general reminder since you're new.

I don't use TCS, but I keep ABS on 1, because otherwise the brakes lock way too easily in this game (IMO). It may help you keep pace in this series, as a suggestion, and it doesn't hamper your racing too much. In fact I think 1 is pretty standard across the board with GT5 racers (exception maybe being NASCAR) to help with late/trail braking. But of course it's up to you, not required or anything like that.

Look forward to racing you next week!

I did not pass Troy after the incident - it was my fault, he was 4th, and i was 5th/last till the end of the race, don't know about his car after the bump, but i suffered heavy damage, i had to go to pit, because the car was barely driveable :ouch:. About the ABS .. i use PS2 controller with converter in GT5, never use ABS since day one, I could brake just fine without it, it's fun to modulate the brake till i find that perfect spot ( just about to lock ). The good thing about PS2 Dual Shock is that the pressure sensitive face buttons are a lot easier to use than DS3, you have to press deeper and harder to get full brake force, which makes it much easier to modulate even without ABS - on RUF RGT, with brake balance F:5 and R:3, i only need to brake halfway to get that optimum brake force without locking the front tires. But the hard thing is consistency, which i lack of:nervous:
I decide not to use ABS as i thought IRL racing they don't allow ABS :), unfortunately this made me slower by many seconds per lap :grumpy:
