But when the AI begins to behave gay as what happened with me, then this game totally sucks.

I like make the races look like a real race in the replay. what im doing is the last cars im gonna get is the F1 cars. So therefore I would have more fun.I wish that in GT3 the last cars that should be available is the F1's. What I mean is that, you have to get all golds in the Beginner, Amateur, Professial. Then you should be able to get the F1's.

Tercel_Driver, I didn't mean to come across as a dikk..I just really hate the Rx-8..Mah bad..But anyway..I agree with the F1 shouldn't belong in Gt3..However..It wouldn't be bad if it was a separate emphasis of the game..I don't think GT3 Should alow you to compete in Maneufacturers races with F1 cars...But they should still have F1 Cars and F1 races..Ya know?

MORE restriction's???

Get real, in real life cars dont go through medium slick's in 5 laps, ever, in GT4 i wanna see real tire wear, or better yet, none at all.....
Then prepare yourself for a game where the Beginner races are 15 laps and it goes up from there.

Real slicks may not wear out in 5 laps - though some do - but real races aren't 5 laps long, either. Which way do you want it?

nice point there duke, also, dont forget that the AI is the epitome of crap in GT3. The rubber banding is possibly the worst idea entered into car sims over the last few years, and the GT series has made a proverbial pigs ear of it.

Here i am awaiting GT4 so i don't have to put up with the AI for a "fair race". If the AI is improved, kudos to polyphony, but odds are it wont come close to racing real people.... again.

Shinez, may I just ask this...can you legally drive yet? Just a question...because you really hate a lot of car makes (at least it seems so)...

The rx-8 might not be the most beautiful car to come out of mazda.... it might be that people like me dont want the rotary in a new shell... you cannot say that you need to slap a turbo on this pucker cause it come's with 276 hp (i think) stock and NA... and NA rotary engine is the epitome of all engines on the market.... i do not think you could find one that pleases me more with price and power to weight.... definately in fuel economy tho...(but who cares) 276 is as much hp as the tt fd... so..... yeah.....with turbo that is good enough for me...
just imagine that engine in the 350z lol... oh man....

what makes the rx8 more riced out than any other new sportscar out of japan coming to the states... like the 350z or g35 coupe... or STi.... at least is isnt the evo man... i saw one and it looks to be more show than go... looks like more money went into the body kit than the engine technology.... oh well....

The RX-8 was designed by a completely different staff of people than the three previous Mazda rotary experiements. For the first and second gen experiment, Mazda used some of the same staff to develop the car, for 2nd and 3rd, the same situation applies. For the RX-8, Mazda still used alot of the same staff, but if I remember correctly, Mazda's chief design engineer for the "sports" department (Mazda Speed?) retired and they got some fresh new kids off of the street, hence the new "riced out, future" design and the MP3s, etc. . . I believe the modern RX-7 was actually designed in the late 80s, so it's model is a bit dated.

Past that, the car was designed the be driven by the more economical driver, hence the larger cargo area, larger backseats, and backdoors. It's still a pretty zippy car, even if it's not turbo, but plan on a turbo version being devloped sooner or later.

And in defense of rotary engines - they are great! They sound like crap compared to piston engines because they produce square waves and not sine, but they last ALOT longer is treated right because the engines are simple (approx. 13 moving parts on a rotary compared to around 45 on a piston engine), and for the displacement (.8 litres on the Gen. II NA model), they produce ALOT of HP.

This is from memory, correct me if I'm wrong.

Back to the topic: Tercel Driver, I don't know what your talking about, but I understand the feeling of wanting a challange. I often enter unpowered cars in events for fun.

have you ever driven a rotary engine.... I LOVE the way they feel and sound.... i guess you dont get as nice a sound as a well tuned probably non american piston engine... buts that is just cause people are used to listening to that growling... the rotary is unlike and the rotary has untapped potential.... i still say the 276 na is a vast imporovement over the other rotaries employed by mazda.... turbo will be wonderful... but we must remember that its not always about how much power but about the application and generation of that power. na will always generate smoother power adn will have power in all gears ( with a properly designed engine which i am sure mazda will produce).

i do think the rx8 could have been a much much more capable car but that is was killed the rx-7 in the us ( no one wanted the rx-7 cause of its inflexiblity and probably cause of the percieved inferiority of the rotary engine...)

I don't have anything against rotaries. But try spending a Saturday morning in the drag racing pits, when the team in the next bay has a cranked-out RX-7 with an exhaust system consisting of about 6 feet of open 2-1/2" pipe, and they're trying to cure that high-rev miss they can't quite seem to diagnose.

That will cure you of thinking they sound good.

Do rotary engines really sound that different from many engines anyway? I've never heard one in action...

Let me explain it to you. The idea about why to put restrictions on the damn game would help a lot. Why?

What happens when you bring a car that you think will do a modest job, because you dont want to overkill the AI. So you bring this car thinking it will do good, but it doesnt. So you begin to compare in between cars to find the correct one. You first check how much hp and weight do the AI have. So the TVR Speed 6 carries around 380 stock. Give it 450 hp for the PRO Races. It has 7000rpm and the RX-8 has around 8500 rpms. I thought it would do good, knowing that a fully modded RSX-8 reaches around 420 hp, but it cant measure up. I dont know what can I use. I have two more european cars, but they are too heavy. I need to find a car that will do good. Any suggestions.

Btw, it has to be a FR,

Competition
TVRSpeed12
TVR Griffith
Camaro
Corvette
BMW
Merdecez Benz CLK

Umm I don't know if anyone cares any more but I just did that race with the RX-8 and beat the speed 6 by 10 seconds. Did it on my first shot too. Slap some super slicks on it will last you the whole race. It would be nice to have racing restrictions though it sucks that they don't have it and the stats of the other cars.

you are probably right duke... but i think that many of the probs witht eh rotary engine arise for two reason...

the most obvious is that compared to diesel or piston engines... rotaries have had alot less money shoved into their development

and second the above is true because they are not as easy to manufacture for the general public as high powered piston engines... that is because in order to make the plugs accessable without deconstructing the entire engine... manufacturers have opted a certain engine sturcture that limits the revs that the engine can handle... truthfully rotary engines have a long way to go but they will make it there eventually... the revs that a perfect rotary engine can handle is extremely high... but it sacrifices the ability to be easily diagnosed and repaired... one day

one day

dodge the viper... even in the game the rotary engines sound different... listen to the rx-8 and then like another na machine like the nsx or tuscan or pick something or many and you will see

Dodge...Want me to tell you what car makes I don't like? I don't like Rx-8's..I don't like Evo VIII's I don't like S13 model 240's ..I don't like..Neon's or Focus's Unless it's the FR200 focus..that's a decent one..I don't like EK chassis civic's...And....umm...There's only a couple more..I actually like most cars...Oh I don't like F-bodies..I love the LS1 and LT1 And LS6..I just don't like F-bodies as a car...and like 2 other's i'll post later

Cars I just think are ugly or femanine arn't considered "bad" to me....Like Jetta's...Jetta's are estrogen soaked cars..but they're not bad cars..Ya see what I mean?

i was anti rx8 for the longest time... but you warm up to it eventually... if not for anything but the engine lol...

When I first saw the RX-8 in Automobile magazine, (I've never seen X-2, Aparently there's one in the movie) I was actually quite excited and thought I might buy one when I got the money, but after using it in GT3 and reading whatever I could on it, I figured there were better cars I could buy for the same amount of money or less.

Vinkento...I sudgest the 350z..Honestly...I don't like the car, but the engine is great...I'd say, either a nissan or a toyota is what you should get....if it's a toyota, I would go with a Mr2..but if you WANT a new car, find out if the Soarers will come to the states..

My very first choice of anything was an MR2 G-Limited. Simply because I'd rather drive an NA. But I can't find one anywhere. ANYWHERE.

Yes the feel of the rotary engine is sumthin alright i have had the privelige of owning a few rotarys heres my list of real cars i have had
