Alright, all the footage is up, I hope some of you will enjoy this little "nostalgia voyage". đź‘Ť
So, why am I doing this?
1. I have a lot of spare time.
2. This is my favourite GT.
3. I am quite nostalgic.
4. I discovered some very rare footage on my gaming DVD's, which you can't find on the internet, at least not on youtube, and I thought I would share some nostalgia with some of you.
Let us start with the oldest footage available.
This is a techdemo of the game, called GT2000 back then, as the game was supposed to release in 2000, which, as we know, didn't happen. You can clearly see that it's basically an up-resed GT2, with GT1 like physics.
Here is the first publicaly showen version:
Here is a slightly more advanced code of the game:
This is a video with a side by side comparison, showing the back then excisting option to choose physics models "racing" and "drifting".
This video shows also a rather old code, only some little scenes, it's a mix of various PS2 games in their early stage development:
A gameplay demo by me with a code, which probably comes from 2000. -part 1 Notice the still excisting option to choose between racing and drift, which eventually didn't make the cut as we know. (Or did it?) Also, you were able to zoom in on the cars in the car menu, pretty neat little detail. The physics seemed still very GT2'ish and the handling was very indirect.
A gameplay demo by me with a code, which probably comes from 2000. -part 2
ECTS2000 Trailer, showing more close to the final build trailer.
An almost final code:
Here the definatly final build:
Developers of Polyphony talking about how they used Maya to model the cars and environments:
And finally a big 4 part GT3 special, after the game has been finished and released with a lot of insight, enjoy:
