@ Spaaa: Then I'll have to try a GT4 LAN session asap. I've got all the hardware available, just didn't want to try it before since I didn't think it could work (moving the TVs is a hassle). The LAN will consist of 1 PS2 with HDLoader and 1 PStwo with a copy of GT4. No one here has actually tried it this way before?
 
I don't know if it's only for me, but when I enter arcade mode and select LAN, I get stuck at the loading screen with the rotating thingy. The PS2 doesn't crash, but it just doesn't continue, which means NO LAN OR XLINK FOR HDD USERS! :indiff:

Wait, jmx2222, what exactly can you confirm is working with your PAL version off the HDD? GT4 (which is what I assume), or does the LAN work (which is what we were talking about before your post)?

Working of HD...no LAN possible :(

Working LAN Mode only from DVD :)

When I write LAN Mode then I mean XLink Kai...not the real LAN Mode (two or more ps2)

HERE IS HOW TO GET GT4 LAN MODE TO WORK

you also don't need to even patch GT4 iso. just use dvd decrypter and put it on the HDD using winHIIP 1.7

Files & Tools Needed
------------------------
HDL_AIO
Lunar IPS Patcher
CrazyC HDL Dual Layer IPS File (.ips)
HDLoader Custom Skins (optional)
Original Free HDLoader (.elf)
DVD Decrypter
WinHIIP 1.7

Preperation
------------------------
1. Unzip HDL_AIO to somewhere like C:\HDL_AIO (makes it easier for the last steps)
2. Unzip all other files in the same folder, HDL.ELF, crazyc.ips, LunarIPS.exe
3. Unzip WinHIIP on a different folder
4. Install DVD Decrypter

Steps:
------------------------
1. Start HDL_AIO 2.4 and open your HDLoader.elf
2. Make sure on CRC Checksum, it says "You have loaded original HDLoader unpacked.elf" / If this is true proceed to #3 otherwise go google.
3. Patch according to ur use mine was /N /C /D1 + skins + NTSC Default.
4. Click Patch and make OUTPUT.ELF w/o packing it. So it comes to 2.83MB file
5. Start Lunar IPS and click 'Apply IPS Patch' and open the crazyc IPS file
6. Then the next window, pick 'Open all files' and choose the OUTPUT.ELF file generated from HDL_AIO.
7. After patching the ELF with the IPS file, drag the OUTPUT.ELF file into TOOLS folder
8. Press Window + R on keyboard and type CMD
9. Go to C:\HDL_AIO\TOOLS folder
10. Type the following 'ps2-packer OUTFILE.ELF PACKED.ELF'
11. PACKED.ELF is the ELF you throw on your memory card
12. Use DVD Decrypter to make the ISO on NTFS formatted HDD (Windows) then use WinHIIP 1.7 to install ISO on ur PS2 HDD connected to your PC. Tested to work on GoW + trailers & GT4 w/LAN not freezing during access!

I have tried to HDL GT4 Chinese Ver. into my HDD, and LAN supported perfectly.
No complex process to rip GT4 ISO.
You just only burn a HDLoader 06B DVD/CD, and have the following tools:
hdl_dump_GUI_1.12 for DVD 9
WinHIIP Ver1.7
DVD Decrypter
hdl_dump_server

Thus,
1. Use DVD Decrypter to extract the GT4 ISO(about 5.xx GB).
2. Boot PSII by hdl_dump_server.
3. Install GT4 ISO by hdl_dump_GUI_1.12 for DVD 9/WinHIIP Ver1.7 through RJ45 cable.
4. Boot PSII by HDLoader 06B, and enjoy that. :)
 
OK, I need some help. I tried patching GT4 PAL version with that new patch from ps2hd.com, made by Sonix. When I extract GT4L1.VOL with Gran Turismo 4 DVD5 Ripper v1,02, and then try to downsampling the extracted files with PSS Downsampling Tool V1.00, I drag all the extracted files to the program, make compression rate 50% (everything just like in tutorial) press go, but when the program attempts to downsample files, I get errors, saying that the file is not correctly registered, a file is missing or invalid. And I get the same error on oll of the files.

PLEASE HELP
 
with the gt4 works perfectly with hdloader..i was thinking..when are we will be getting cars that can be 'patched'..like a ferrari.a 'dude' can simply write some codes to patch some car turing it into a ferrari or sumthing..remember the long ass code in gt3 where u can get porsche911 or a lambo diablo....wish wish..that was hard..its easier with hdd now..
