My thoughts on the subject don't carry much weight, considering that Jordan has already given his thoughts on the subject.
I will however offer a few small suggestions. Yes, they wil upset a few, but please others. To modify JFK's wisdom, you can please some of the people some of the time, but not all the people, all the time.
My thoughts are that GT1, GT2 and GTC be moved into one forum called "Past GT games" in which any post older than a year, be archived and removed from the site. Therefore saving bandwidth. The GT3 forum stays as is. Although I do think that any post older than 2 years or longer than 100 posts could be removed from the site. At that point, the Gran Turismo section of the forums could be separated out into Past GT games, GT3 and GT4. Yes, this would inevitably cause some members to whine about their post count suddenly vanishing.
Under each one of these sites would be the forum, along wth a Settings and Drifting discussion forum. The Write-ups can be integrated into the GT3 forums. Same as with GT4 should they continue to be posted. I'd say a sub forum under GT4 could include GT4P.
As for OLR, it can pretty much stay the same. We'll each have to label the game choice when we make the challenge. Hence, GT4, GT3, GT4P and so on.
My overall goal with these suggestions, would be to eleminate some of the excess info contained here. A smaller forum means less strain on the server. If this were the plan of attack Jordan aimed for, It'd be nice to have these forums in place before the release of GT4, and on the day it becomes available, he could simply click it from "Admin viewable Only" to "Member viewable."
So street fighter, if you're going to ask for something in regards to the site and you want to spam in an attempt to get everyone to see it, I suggest you sit back and think of any serious benefit your suggestion might have to Jordan. Would you be willing to sacrifice some other part of the site to have this available?
Just my thoughts.
