He was the only postumous f1 world champion (means he won after he died).

A lot of f1 drivers back then had to drift to get the most out of their tyres... although thats proper drift, not powerslides...

what do you mean by "proper drift, not powerslides"?
I thought that slight power oversteering was the fastest way to drift since you'll be accelerating and cornering instead of sliding (and slowing down) and cornering..
Cars that have tons of grip will corner unbelievably fast if you're able to powerdrift them, that's what I found out when I learned to fully control the JGTC cars ín GT4 prologue

But grip driving is fastest, at least with modern race cars and the cars in GT3.

powersliding on the exit of a turn is extrememly slow... if u slide before the turn and stop sliding by the exit u'll be going much faster than if you just wait for you tires to lose grip from pushing them hard. plus it looks cooler... I've done a lot of speed drifting so i know . Take out a trueno w/ slicks and put a some NA tuning on it and other parts to get it up to 210 HP, w/ some sims and u'll see ur lap times are a lot faster if u start ur drifts before the turn most of the time, inless it's a 180, but even then,,,

hmm.. seems like we've got a missunderstanding.. people taking things out of context by accident. Everyone understands now though;) Nice lil tangent we've gone off on

If you're power sliding (on the gas) into a corner, you were going waay too slow. I think you misunderstand the meaning of power slide.

You break the back end out with the engine braking (generally) to initiate a drift (pushing the nose in) and let you apex a corner late, giving you a flatter exit angle, and thus, more exit speed.

But, the GT4 D1GP rewards powerslides, so.. forget anything i just told you ;)

My hopes for this game is to be so realistic you can't just drift right when you get into the game. A tutorial on drifting (tuning as well as driving) would help. And please, PLEASE! PD, dont pull an odd arcade move and make it possible for FWD cars to drift (a la NFSU). I mean I loved NFSU as much as the next person, but it could wreck the experience if they messed up on this mode. :scared: But with KY doing this, my hopes are very high :dopey:
