Maybe you should spend more time having fun on GT4 ...Unlock a few cars while your at it :)
What about any of the old shape RUFs (86' 87)? can you record those for us

The newly posted Renault 5 Turbo sound is a disgrace, utterly unacceptable, I can cope with the fact it is the wrong timbre for the car, but the fact that you can actually hear it looping the sample, shame on you PD, your audio dept still blows goats.

It would be fair to say that the audio in GT4 sucks a$$, just like 3, 2 and 1. :(

WA WA WHAT!!! You obviously have never heard a roaring 440! Once again, GT4 didnt quite capture the awesome tones of good ole american muscle! The Cuda 440 sounds like some kind of jet, and sounds nothing like the mopar great 440... 👎 And the Charger 440 R/T is the sound of the Shelby Cobra from GT3! It doesnt sound that bad, but it's not the sound of the legendary 440! Belive me, I know, Ive been to quite a few Mopar Nationals! They should have given the 440 cars the sound of the new Mustang! The new Mustang sounds great. But they jipped the REAL MUSCLE CARS! It sounds like PD lied to us when they said that they had re-recorded all the engine notes... BOOO. 👎 Maybe they will sound different when you upgrade the muffler. Would be better if they just made an open header sound!

AAHHHH, I just listened to them again and it just bugs me more, the sound is terrible. WHAT THE HECK WERE THEY THINKING WITH THE CHEVELLE, CUDA, CORVETTE, AND THE LIST GOES ON..... THEY ALL SOUND LIKE GARBAGE!!!!! WHY, WHY, WHY??? THEY OBVIOUSLY DIDNT SPEND MUCH TIME WITH THE SOUND!!! THEY WERE TOO LAZY TO DO IT RIGHT, TOO LAZY TO RE-RECORD THE REAL MUSCLE CARS LIKE THE CHARGER, CHEVELLE AND CUDA!!! IT TICKS ME OFF!

1 - The ones you heard were probably tuned and/or had other exhausts. Don't get this wrong, I know the sounds of muscle cars aren't right in GT, but don't compare them to what you've seen on those motorshows.

2 - Don't buy it then, if you think the sounds are the only part of a video game that really matter... You can complain, but don't make bad sounds sound like a reason to not buy a game.
 
Sounds cool, exept the Muscle one's... Bit dissapointed I must say, but... Guess it's hard to capture all those looow tones... ;)

And... On a sidenote...

Was kinda hoping that they'd put the BRM V16 in the game as it's one of the old classics. But then again...

Might be even harder to capture the sound of this baby:

every ones just so used to hairing electric fan sounds from the previous gt's that they cant tell whats real sounding anymore.
 
Can somebody please do the BMW Z4, or old corvette? I want to compare them to the sound clips of the engines on the official GT4 japan site. VERY interested to compare. THNX!

Yeah, the idle sounds good, but at peak rpm it sounds awful! How often do you drive around with the car at idle?...OH, NEVER!

Belive me, i'm getting the game!!! I've been waiting just as long as everyone else, and the game looks top notch, and even sounds top notch, just not the muscle car engine sounds. Im not trying to make the game sound bad, I was just disapointed and disgusted that PD transfered the Shelby Cobra engine sounds from GT3 over to GT4 for the 440 Charger R/T. THATS LAZINESS!

I think you meant to say it sounds DEAD! Whats with the high pitch sound of the 454??? It sounds like it's reving up to like 10,000 rpm. 454 dont rev up that high! You definetely havent ever heard a 454 either!

Hell yeah, I'm getting to the point where I'm really pissed off at the GT series. And no, Forza sounds exactly the same as this terd.

Like WTF "The Drive of Your Life" wtf is that, the AI sucks and the cars sound like ****. Maybe just the "drive" is the good part... Dissapointment is taking over me. :grumpy:
 
LOL, good one. Forza sounds like the third gt?? Have you played forza! Have you heard the corvette in forza, -omg- its perfect. it roars all the way up to redline, no electric scooters here :p
 
Yeah, **** GT4 and the engine sounds, GT4 is starting to get crappier and crappier. :yuck:

Yes, I played the Forza demo the Viper only sounded good at idle...
 
The rear behind view is the best view for the optimal sound. I -love- the corvette in it. sounds amazing with two 60watt subs shaking your room.... at idle... moharhar. :p

I'm hoping the sounds are not that representative of the game, ie. my PC isn't getting the right sound. I have to say that I'm not too impressed so far.

They screwed up the muscle Cars in general, but thats not the point of this thread, I like the Cuda Sound, at Idle it sounds so aggressive, so mean, but you are right, the higher it gets the less authentic it sounds, But then again it sounds like its fitted with a Turbo so that May be messing with the sound, but I doubt it.

I just downloaded the Chevelles Sound, it sounds NOTHING like a 454, The Cobra 427 sounds Alright, not perfect but pretty fair, and the Charger sounds pretty horrible, Nice to see PD doing some quality Representing of US Heritage.
 
I must say that i'm very disappointed. Corvette have most recognising sound in the World, but in the game sound is same as any other cars even similar to weaker cars , it's totaly wrong.
