GT4 Engine sounds: downloadable samples

i wonder what the muscle cars would sound like with upgraded exaust systems. SHIRAKAWA should make some recordings of some. :)

Edit: it was said that new model corvette has got silencing gear installed...I dont remember specificaly... But that was said in this or some other thread before.

From what i have heard so far from these clips, they are about the same as before.
Underground 2 sound is awesome and very inspiring, and make you want to drive more and more and some more. Its very good earcandy, while all the GT games so far have had poor soundeffects. Maybe next time they should leave the soundengineering (and rally) to another team?!

And what about that new view? Hoodview finally? My god, that is just 3 games too late.

they do sound a bit better than GT* but still it's far form realistic sounds sadly...
high pitched car sounds like the CTR are nice but all the big V8 and more lack too much bass they growl a lot more in reality :(

bah who cares all I want is to play the game :) thank you again for those sounds they kick ass...
 
440 CHARGER
WA WA WHAT!!! You obviously have never heard a roaring 440! Once again, GT4 didnt quite capture the awesome tones of good ole american muscle! The Cuda 440 sounds like some kind of jet, and sounds nothing like the mopar great 440... 👎 And the Charger 440 R/T is the sound of the Shelby Cobra from GT3! It doesnt sound that bad, but it's not the sound of the legendary 440! Belive me, I know, Ive been to quite a few Mopar Nationals! They should have given the 440 cars the sound of the new Mustang! The new Mustang sounds great. But they jipped the REAL MUSCLE CARS! It sounds like PD lied to us when they said that they had re-recorded all the engine notes... BOOO. 👎 Maybe they will sound different when you upgrade the muffler. Would be better if they just made an open header sound!

AAHHHH, I just listened to them again and it just bugs me more, the sound is terrible. WHAT THE HECK WERE THEY THINKING WITH THE CHEVELLE, CUDA, CORVETTE, AND THE LIST GOES ON..... THEY ALL SOUND LIKE GARBAGE!!!!! WHY, WHY, WHY??? THEY OBVIOUSLY DIDNT SPEND MUCH TIME WITH THE SOUND!!! THEY WERE TOO LAZY TO DO IT RIGHT, TOO LAZY TO RE-RECORD THE REAL MUSCLE CARS LIKE THE CHARGER, CHEVELLE AND CUDA!!! IT TICKS ME OFF!

It would be fair to say that the audio in GT4 sucks a$$, just like 3, 2 and 1.

I totaly agree with you, they totaly missed engine sounds of American vehicles.I'm not an American but i love US cars mostly becose the way they sound.

I have the Forza demo and they definantely sound noticeably better than GT4 sounds. Does anybody have GT4 and the Forza demo that can compare?

I never thought I'd say this but :scared: PD need to get with EA! ... for their sounds! you have any idea how much more exciting just sounds can make a car game. and this is just ... faboulous. Imagine if all the GT cars had sounds reproduced in such detail like this. I LOVE YOU EA! :dunce:
(btw, this sounds exactly like forza's engine sounds.. something forza -will- have over GT4, anyone whos played the demo can confirm this, fantastic sounds, makes the game much more invigorating)

if you only knew...how much time i spent just driving around in that gto just to listen to it growl at me with 10 speakers and a sub-woofers.

Yeah, the idle sounds good, but at peak rpm it sounds awful! How often do you drive around with the car at idle?...OH, NEVER!



Belive me, i'm getting the game!!! I've been waiting just as long as everyone else, and the game looks top notch, and even sounds top notch, just not the muscle car engine sounds. Im not trying to make the game sound bad, I was just disapointed and disgusted that PD transfered the Shelby Cobra engine sounds from GT3 over to GT4 for the 440 Charger R/T. THATS LAZINESS!



I think you meant to say it sounds DEAD! Whats with the high pitch sound of the 454??? It sounds like it's reving up to like 10,000 rpm. 454 dont rev up that high! You definetely havent ever heard a 454 either!

another car that disappointed me was the viper.sounds alomst perfect at idle and early rpms,but after that.....even test drive has that beat.
 
I must say I am thoroughly impressed! Hey, this time a V8 actually sounds like a V8...woohoo. My thanks to SHIRAKAWA Akira for making this possible, your a super-star. Now back to the sounds. 👍
 
A lot the sounds are weird. BUT, I LOVE the sound of the automatic on the SL500. Sounds very real. Also, the BMW M3 sounds really sweet and decently accurate, too. And the Evo with exhaust. The exhaust sounds a lot more realistic now. Could you post up a clip of an RSX or JDM Integra Type R (DC5) with Racing-Spec. exhaust? I know the engine itself sounds realistic, with the LOUD i-VTEC since I own an RSX and it sounds pretty close. But I'm curious, because the racing exhausts on the last GT's sounded horrible on the four-cyl' Hondas and Acuras.

Hey, good site sixftstryder, I enjoyed it very much. I too agree on the viper sounds. Sounds about perfect at idle and low RMP's, but as soon as you get em up there, it sounds made up and nothing of this earth, as many of the cars do! It's like they found some tone and used in all the cars, just some have higher and lower pitches than the others. They desperately need to revise their audio recording department!

No, the M3 sounds just about right. Perhaps it's not as whiny at the top end like it sounds in real life, but if you pay close attention, the sound is pretty damn close.

I went to Bimmerfest East in Nassau Coliseum, flooded with E46 M3's. I know what M3's sound like. :)
