I submitted a thread in the Gran Turismo 4 Forum (the same place as the 30k dragstrip challenge) on Friday Afternoon, but I guess it wasnt allowed to be viewed. (for what reason i do not know) 👎

whice car did you use for the super car festival and what mod i tried with a ford gt, pagani zonda s 7.3 l, jaguar xj220(the flat one SP)

I used my stock Ford GT '05, and won all races. Only the city courses were difficult to win. If the Tommy Kaira started in front, I couldn't catch up with him, but I've beaten the Cien and Zonda there.:)
 
I'm going to be starting the 24h race at La Sarthe soon, What car should I use to compplete it?, this is the first race I'm attempting.

Toyota Minolta 88C-V - with stage 4 turbo
Sauber Mercedes C 9 - with stage 4 turbo
Nissan R92CP - with stage 4 turbo
Mazda 787B - with stage 4 turbo

I am going to B-spec it because I dont have the time to A spec. :indiff:

which car do you recommend? and what tire setup?

If you're going to b-spec the whole thing, I'd just do the Nurburgring 24 hours first and get the f1. It makes LeSarthe easier (use pace 4, overtake throughout all of it), because the competition on LeSarthe is difficult on BSpec. I've tried LeSarthe once with two or three of those LM cars, but none were reliable on the 24 hour races with Bspec on.
 
A-Speccing/B-Speccing the la Sarthe II (unchicained) 24 Hours Enduro right now, with the refreshed Black R92CP with Stage 4 Turbo...

I'm A-Speccing about 1/3 the laps, best time of 3'01, averaging 3'03. Wilbur is running 3'11s and 3'12s and at 8:30 into the race holds an increasing 2'45 lead on the 2nd place Sauber...the rest of the field is 2 laps down or better.

Is there a difference between the Jaguar XJR-9 that you receive as a prize car for completing 50% and the Jaguar XJR-9 that is available in the Jaguar Classics section?

The only difference I see is that the specs for the purchasable XJR-9 is 749HP/7200rpm and 575.66ft.lb/5500rpm.

The Jaguar that you get for 50% is 961HP/7200rpm and 737.47ft.lb/5500rpm. I remember when I first got this car, it was rated at 928HP or something around that number. I've driven it for 14.5 miles and it seems as though the HP and Torque went up.

The next thing I did was to purchase the XJR-9 from the Jaguar Classics and to my surprise, the specs from the dealer are incorrect when I viewed it in my garage. IIRC, the specs of the dealer XJR-9 match the specs of the prize XJR-9.

What I want to know, before I thrash my prize XJR-9 around, if the dealer XJR-9 is just as comparable to the prize XJR-9 because if it is a one time prize car I don't want to drive it to the ground.

Nice lap times at Lesarthe. Unfortunately, Bspec sucked for me and got times around 325, 330, and i experimented with different speeeds, etc., and my driver's time sucked compared to the rest of the field, with or without that stage 4 turbo.

to slowpoke dui, id try it, but sorry man, im low on credits right now, but I bet the prize car and bought XJR 9 are about the same, since GT4 does show hp different many times. Some examples are, during replays, out of the garage, in the garage.

You need to stretch out the transmission. Using the tranny trick, I ended up with a final drive of 2.750, good for about 245 mph on Mülsanne (255 with a good draft). Interestingly, Wilbur was satisfied with running about 219 or 220, which explains why I was so much faster per lap.

I thought it was interesting that I could only do 6 laps between pit stops because of fuel issues, while Wilbur ran 7 laps. He was also rougher on the tires...if fuel hadn't been an issue, I could have run 8 to his 7.

Also, be careful if you use one of the Black Beasts for this. I tried a stint at about the 14 hour mark, and the Nissan was almost undrivable down Mülsanne...I guess that the 32,000 miles that came with that car broke through the Rigidity Refresher that I put on it before this race. ;)

quite true i'd say. im using my touring merc for touring car cash bonanza championship and its good for about 3x whole champs. after that it needs chassis refresh. i'd say doing 24h enduro is much more mileage that 3x dtm champs, and the refresh you bought just wears off.

btw, i was always wondering how people can drive 24h race a-spec and be able to finish when chassis is gone.

In the NA version, how do you switch between A-soec and B-spec...if you can? I have seen posts saying that you race the 24Hr in B-spec at 3X, but when the car makes a pit stop, doesn't the game revert to 1X speed? Thanks
 
You can only switch a-spec to b-spec in the PAL version.

Edit: I thought you meant during the race. Yes any version you can switch.
 
Does anyone know if different cars have different fuel economies, because I tried the Le Mans 24hr enduro and tested the Minolta Toyota in it and it ran out of fuel in 9 laps. At least it was good I didn't plan on doing the whole race then! If anyone's got any ideas on this, then please air them!

i think they are all the same with the le mans cars
 
okay this is a bit of a funny question i like the gt4 intro and was asking myself what is the name of the first bit of music that gets played

I hope this post is acceptable.

I love GT4 but after playing a demo of the new Xbox rip off, Forza Motorsport I felt cheated.

Forza offer some nice sports cars that are not available in GT4, like the Ferrari Enzo, Koenigsegg CC, Porsche GT etc.

Damn I wish GT4 payed for the rights to some of these cars, especially Ferrari and Porsche.

With them I think Forza for the Xbox may well hurt GT4.

I wish they make a GT4 just with supercars.

What cars would you like to see that are not available in GT4?

My wish list:

Ferrari - Enzo, F50, F40, 320, 430
Koenigsegg - CC8S and CCR
Saleen - S7 twin turbo
Porsche - GT, 911 GT2, GT3, GT3 RS, 911 (997), 911 Turbo, 959.
Noble - M12, 3R and M400
Maserati - MC12
Bugatti - EB110, Veyron
 
Porsche and Ferrari would be great, but I want Polyphony to bring back the Ford Gt90 and the Renault Espace F1, fastest minivan ever, from GT 2.
