Well i just took a stab at registering, i cant read or understand any of what was written but i registered, lol. Only problem is i dont know if the vid i am downloading is the correct vid. It is GT4_ptp or something.

**EDIT**: idiotic me should have read the 2nd page first, lol.

I haven't got this video yet but I don't get how amazing it can be given the horrible quality of the captures so far.

the quality is better than the captures...and even though it's not that great, it shows the real sense of speed. I got to admit, PD did a freakin awesome job doing the bumps in the nurburgring, i mean every inch of track there was a bump.......250mph felt like 250 mph....a first 👍 d/l it eagle you'll see what I'm talkin about.

 speechless.

November can't come soon enough.

why does everybody think GT4 is coming out in NOVEMBER ???

GT4 is only 75% complete and it will not be out until DECEMBER !!!

the SEPT. 2004 PLAYSTATION magazine says " it looks like GRAN TURISMO 4 is now on track for an early DECEMBER release, a time window that we are told is absolutely, positivily going to be stuck to"

by the way that is a very cool vid, thanx for posting that 👍

i also have seen the vid. But on the DVD.

And its great, awsome!! On the DVD is a second vid: Christian Menzel (Race Driver, Porsche), he lives near the nordschleife and knows the track better than his own home. :) He drives in GT4 with a Meclaren Final F1 one lap. He needs 7:00 minutes, but he had some crashes. He said that the track is perfekt, like the in reality. The jumps and bumps are like the reality. At the End he says that he can use 95 % of his raceexperience in GT4.

I hope you can read it and have a nice day

Bleh :yuck: ! That clip almost made me vomit! Who ever made that, stop switching back and forth from outside replay shot, to driver seat replay shot so damn quickly!

Anyway, I think I'll switch from 3rd person view, to first person view this time around. There is so much more to see and experience this time around. I noticed how the screen shakes, and then becomes slightly fuzzy, right after going over a big jump. Awesome. I bet that wont happen in 3rd person view.

I would like to say nice video but......

It wont play :( Im using WMP 9 and it only plays audio. I did a search for Avi codecs and didnt get much. Could someone more experienced help me out please? Do I need DIVX or somthing( If so Im getting it now :p)
Thanks

The vid works for me fine but I've probably downloaded every type of codec there has been over the years!!....I suspect that you will need the same one needed to play the ring vids by Amar......

Anyway...here are some screen caps of this vid for 56k people....the pics are not big but they are of resonable quality......the vid itself is not high res. I agree that the sence of speed is amazing! Also we have now seen a sneek peak of what the split time (car infront distance) screen is going to look like.....I don't think it has been seen before! Anyway.......here are a few small pics!

Robin :D

p.s........I also agree that the guy that made the vid should stop changing views.....its really annoying! If it was trying to be artistic it failed hugely!!

I dont know why the thumbs came out like that!...dont matter! 👍

Wow, that video is amazing. Repeating what everyone else has said, the "sense of speed" is great. Can't wait for "winter".

hm, how do you people know that is AI driving?
For all we know it could be a 6 player network race.

It would be nice if that was a six player network race because isn't that the bit that has delayed the release. Looks pretty ready to me :)

I don't know about the ultra realism though, Pak won't like this :) but if you look at the brake/accelerator indicators, at around 1:14 they flick from full gas to full brake to full gas in about a tenth of a second! That would seriously upset the balance of any car. Alot of the time you do see the power being "fed" in but that stamp on the brakes was a little too forgiving.

Anyone notice the Lack of rear view mirror!

And that isn't even the demo OPM UK played which they call seriously hardcore.

Cobra I think That could quite possibly be the Press version OPSM2 uk Played.

It obviously feature the latest Track build with graffiti.
It also features the new physics engine from the BMW edition Amar talked about with the full Bumpiness implemented.
And the demo they played only featured race cars.

This is the first time we have seen this build, in video form.

I dont think PD are going to be in the habit of releasing Many different Physics builds of this calibre to the press, at this late stage.

The power being 'fed' in would seem to suggest these are AI drivers, Its just to smooth to be human, also they change at redline only.

At the 1.14 the car is changing down and the accelerator only blips to full accelerator for a blink of an eye, as shift down occurs, then brakes a little more then just before the vid cuts away you can see the accelerator is being fed in again (it certainley isnt floored).

Oh man, I gotta get home soon so I can watch this video. It´s gotta be great for all the "OMG its amazing" posts.

You're right about the downshift, but the brakes are full on, I'd be happier seeing a little tap on the brakes, if I did that in my car it wouldn't make it round the corner ;) Again at 1:27 brakes just smashed on full. I'm not complaining, but I know some that will be dissapointed with that.

Even I can be that smooth on the throttle with the DFPro (I have to take my shoes off, but its possible) but changing gear on the redline everytime is a giveaway for AI.

Could have been on Auto I suppose.
I still go with AI though. I think the players car was the one left trailing about quarter of a lap back. :sly:

Theres being smooth and theres being consistantly smooth, when racing in a pack, at 150mph+ around the Nurburgring :)

What did you make of the fact there was no rear view mirror?

Good spot! Maybe you are riding on board with AI and they don't have one.

Having looked again at the throttle, I'd go with AI, its moves at exactly the same rate every time, no variation. But the brake is either full on or full off, like a switch, odd!

Well you have to say the AI is shaping up, drafting for position and overtaking, they might put up a fight yet 👍

Edit: actually the players car is the one flashing red, not sure which it refers too.

I thought the flashing red one, is the car the camera is focused on in replay.
I cant believe with AI like that, That one car could be a quarter lap down.

The drafting and cutting back and forth did look impressive though.

Nice vid 👍, pity it wasn't a full lap from the start of the race, and also it's a pity the guy controlling the camera didn't make better use of it and why for the love of god did he flip between in and out of car views so much at certain points.

Yeah the switching between views is very annoying.

Remember in GT3 there also were some slower cars a race you'd do. They'd fall back greatly. Maybe it's the same case here

You can change the language of the site, just click the second icon and it should appear German and English, just click english and thats it-...

the video is great, but the camera switching every single second is very, VERY annoying.

Dont let this guy play GT anymore, please.

That vid is actually old, like a month old but. If I remember correctly, OPM UK said they played a build no one outside of PD or sony has played. It's possible PD just polished the physics to near perfection over the weeks.

solid vid... considering the capture quality... great sense of speed, can't wait to get my hands on the ring!
