Found a post at neowin that said GT4 may be on PC, coupled with an image from a Polish magazine. Can anyone transtlate it? Not sure if there's any truth in it, but I'd love to see GT on the PC :)

No, this will never happen because Sony owns Polyphony Digital, and would only want it on their platform(s). It would make absolutely no marketing sense whatsoever to release it on PC, because the GT series is a major selling point for the PlayStation platform... PLUS, it would take PD twice as long, maybe even longer, to develop it for PC...

No There should be a computer version IMO cause u can download MODS. Like a Ferrari Enzo wont be init so someone can make an Enzo and we can add it or make ir replace a car! Thats my Opinion on it.

Then you'd get loads of people making stupid cars like you get ni Need for speed, people making cars that hit 1000Mph in 2 seconds and crap like that. Also I have a pretty mid range PC compared to whats available today, and every game I have on it has better graphics than GT3, so I don't think you would need a top of the range PC to get GT4's graphics.

Back to the mods, you can do all that on PS2 provided the tools are around, all you'd need is the HDD and whatever tools are around, ofcourse PC or not, PD would never release modding tools to the public, GT is all about authenticity and when that guy turns up in an online race with his latest creation that looks like a milkfloat but outruns an F1 car it's gone a little less authentic. And as for hybriding thats all well and good if you want to either ruin the game or complete the game then have some fun experimenting with F1 engined Mini's but they need to be kept out of online races.

In brief
and in regards on pc: Gt3aspec never will be on pc. That is sure
However good news, PD is working on providing a demo on the pc.

Eh excuse me? What about all that EA has done to keep all of there online games up? The only problem with the ps2 is all of yall dial up people get on there and slow the ones with DSL, Cable, and DNS down. Its not the Ps2, its yall!

Sorry to double post, but i barely hit 200 on either one. you have thoughs hackers that get out that and totaly disable the physics ( yes you who fall through the mountains though clame you didnt)

GT4 will be broadband only from what I've heard.

so is NFSU, yet you get these people that are doing 128k ( not me, i've got pure 300k!) that glitches, with their codes ontop of that, its about like trying to race with a car that has sqaure tires...

"When on the PC: GT3 A-Spec never, and that's for sure. Although there are good news too - Polyphony Digital is working on GT4 right now, which is officially announced for the PC as well."

I don't think that's true, though.

Do we have to go through this every time a new GT is released?

GT4 has not been officially announced for the PC nor will it ever be announced for the PC.

but since sony is a computer company, and owns PD, you never know, it might be a time for change. these poor people that cant afford a ps2 have to sit on there computers listening to people that got the prologue of GT4, when did sony ever think about them, they dont. ITS TIME FOR A CHANGE, GT4 FOR THE COMPUTER!

but what if they are all like "dad i need a ps2" and he is all like "what wrong with your top of the line computer" and their like "it doesnt have a version of gt4" and he is all like "yeah well i used to have to use a 3 inch screen on a green and black computer screen in my day, 800x600 pixils, oh no, when we wanted fun we played pong on our atari's." and their all like "can i play on the atari" and then he is all like "no, its an antique, besides why dont you get some game for the computer." and their all like "but all of the good games are on a ps2" and he is all like "well when you have the money you can get one" and then their like "i got $300 for christmas that you blew on your own needs, it they were helping to stop something fatal it would be ok, but you bought yourself a new dvd player." and he is like "yeah and it plays dvd-r and cd-r" and their all like "the ps2 does that, plus it also plays ps1 games, ontop of that you can get a version of pong that plays on it" and then he is like "but i already spent the money on the dvd player and i lost the reciept, so i guess you will have to wait next year."
THERE! ITS TIME FOR CHANGE! SONY PLEASE HEAR US OUT!

GT-40/787b: Why don't you go out and get a job like everyone else in the civilized world if you want a PS2 so badly.

Sony is not a computer company.

Not only would a PC version of GT4 be more open to piracy, but also, Sony wants to keep their most profitable games on their system. Gran Turismo and other games that are exclusive to Playstation sell Playstations. Removing a big seller like Gran Turismo from being a Playstation exclusive would hurt the best selling product Sony has. Plain and simple.

Well, I'm not so sure actually. GT4 might be a borderline case.

Sony may get the feeling that the market for the PS2 is saturated up to a point where GT4 won't pull any more sales. Or enough sales to make up for the profit they could make with a PC version.
Who would buy a PS2 for GT4 that hasn't already bought one for GT3?
If GT5 is going to be made for the PS3, this will probably be a system exclusive.

And SCEA has become a complete part of the Sony corporation again, and control over Polyphony might have changed, and as they dabble in PC peripherals and PCs as well, we might see a PC version of GT4.

I still think that's highly unlikely, but it's not as set in stone as some people here try to make others believe.

Since Sony make the PS2 and Gran Turismo is capable of selling consoles, why would they ever make it for the PC.

Interesting point, but no doubt even so Sony would want to keep it PS exclusive simply for GT5 on the PS3.

Another 'disadvantage' is that GT4 would look a hell of a lot better if programmed properly on PC & would run in a much better resolution on most PC's. Therefore it would make it harder to market GT5 on its graphics as they may not look much better.

Mmmm GT4 on a PC :D PC is lacking decent driving games with any real content. Thats main reason why I bought my PS1, PS2 + XBox.

F1 Challenge 99-02 has a fair bit of content out, and in the pipeline... for one. But still, theres that special feeling you get from the GT series that could never be matched :)

Bought my ps2 because of gt3 (bought my ps1 because of wipeout.. lol).
