GT4 Release Date for the US?

Ok Samgoody.com and Bestbuy.com both have an option to preorder saying the release date is January 6th, 2004. Gamers.com is also saying this. However gamestop.com has it coming out in April or July of 2004. I'm not sure what to believe but best buy hasnt let me down yet so hopefully they're right. What could really help clearing up a lot of debate about release dates and car list is a press release. I know these guys dont speak english but I'm sure there's a word for press release in japanese. Also I am pretty damn sure they could have had it ready for christmas (seems like it would be in their best interest as well). But oh well what can you do we'll just hope that the Jan. 6th release is correct.
 
lets not hope the release is january 6th, gran turismo 4 will come out when it comes out, it does not matter when, what matters is that they do not have alot of bugs on it, and the more time it takes to be released, put it this way, the better it will be, but thats just my opinion
 
True...true....but I still wish the PD or Sony would give an offical statement because many sites after different release dates ( I dont know how Motor Trend came up with the winter of '04 date). Besides if it is later than this summer I may not bother with investing in it and save the 50 bucks for the next PS platform which I have a feeling wont be too far off.

It will be out before the PS3's official unveiling next year, if it's not then it will be one of the worst marketing moves ever, no matter how many cars and courses make it into GT4, the PS3 will always be a bigger story and will take all the attention, I'm expecting it within the first quarter 04.
 
I bought my Logitech Driving force for abouit $100. I think $125 for a Logitech Pro is pretty good price. $25 won't hurt my pocket.
 
And you'll get GT4, $100 forthe wheel and $25 for GT4, pretty good price. $125 is what the Wheel + GT4 bundle is expected to cost.

TBH I havn't a clue what kind of dollar, all I've heard is the same as what M5 Dude has. The Euro would be a likely bet though.
 
Yesterday was the boxing day and I went at my local EBgames store to buy racing evolution, while I was waiting to pay, I asked one of the guy when would GT4 come out and he said:" The First of May"

Here. In Canada, we don't have the logitech wheel(the gt4 one).

Yeap, that's why I bought the other one. The Driving Force Pro, which of you speak, I think is too come out in Febuary. I read that somewhere, I can't confirm it though.
 
the wheel is out and it is selling for 150 USD at gamestop.
as for the game it is supposed to be July but whoknows...
and as for the wheel comming with the game i highly doubt that as did all the employees at gamestop.
 
Did anybody else here about the Jan. 6th date? I heard from this from Best Buy and Sam Goody websites but they could easily be wrong.

PLease don't let that be for Europe aswell. GT4 is supposed to be a late Xmas prezzie, not an early B-day one :(

As for the PS3 i have heard 2005, and it will probably be Christmas time so to maximise early sales.

And i did hear January 6th release date, but taht was said back in spetember and may be obsoleute by now. But I am abit disappoiteed on how Sony have handled all this, tehy have left alot of us in the dark on the release date.

Reading about the release date just makes me mad, does it make any of you mad about the release of the game. I wish they would just hurry the game up....I've been waiting for years to play GT4 online, I'm sure others are tired of waiting and are emotional. I want to play GT4!
 
Absolutely ohio, I'm mad too. It wouldn't be so bad if PD didn't screw up the release of EVERY single GT game. What is the problem with those guys anyway. Somebody should be held accountable. There are millions of people waiting for this game (including a very displeased wheel manufacturer) and all PD can ever seem to do is say nothing. Then, as a final smack to the mouth, they decide to give the asian markets a prologue disk! What the hell do we get? Nothing. It irritates me to no end that a company as world renowned as Sony can't ever seem to develope a GT game within the alotted time. What is so hard about producing a game in 3 years?!? That should have been plenty of time. All I can say for sure is that the game damn well better be ready by June or there will be hell to pay!

You said it. Someone needs to be held accountable. Telling the public that the game should be ready late 2003 and then its prolonged and prologue comes only for the asian market is bogus.
 
Everytime I look at this forum I'm bracing myself for another possible delay to GT4.Man oh man I hope this game is going to be worth it.
 
My various sources (whom have proven to be extremely reliable) range in US release dates from April 6th to April 29th.

So don't get your panties in a bunch.

It gets here when it gets here.
 
You know what Majin and Ohio, most good games get delayed at least once before release, Prolouge is a bonus for the Japanese and Chineese you can't hold that against them seeing as the game is being made in Japan. And no, no one needs to be held accountable for it's delay, it shows how determined they are to get it right and I don't want it in the shops until it is at least 99% right.

Its 22nd of February 2005 untill i say different for the US. Uk release 3 days later
