I'm just wondering, and it would be interesting to know how each of us intend to attack GT4.

Some like to do as little as necessary to get licenses that hit Simulation Mode as soon as they can...

Others like to get 'Golds' and all the prize cars this gives, then hit the game.

I'm normally the latter of these two. This time with GT4 I intend to get the Golds as I normally have with the DS2. Then I'm toying with the idea of completely opening and finishing the arcade part of the game so I can practice with my DFP. This hopefully will open all the tracks also ;) , for practice purposes... as well as some good cars...

After that I'll assualt the game fully...

How about you what's your plan???

EDIT: Hopefully you'll be able to 'transfer' Gold licenses from GT4P to GT4 (with the cars given in GT4) like what PD had said. Then I'll be able to hit arcade sooner...

I actually have no idea as to what i'll first do when I get my imported Japan GT4 in. I think after the first panic attack from just having it in my hands i'll start working on the liscens tests.

The first thing i will do, is to explore the game as much as i can. What cars can i buy, what modes are in, etc.....Then after a big smile on my face (i hope), i'll start with the licenses. Getting gold on the licenses in GT3 i think was a great advantage, because of the car prices. I'm not shure i'f im going to try golds on all licenses at first, maybe i'll wait and just get on with the game.

Looking forward to it 👍

my plan is to attack as I go ,that means that I'll have a plan when I need it ,and see how to get most money

I'm not sure, but i thing first at all i will navigate through all parts of the game, then i will make some test-drives in arcade mode and then i will attack the license-mode, trying to get all tests in gold, an then i have the plan to win all races in granturismo-mode. And when i have finished everything - after 3 month for example - i will drive against friends and beat them. And after i have achieved this gain, i will play Enthusia and analyse every little detail, particularly the Nurb with the Audi R8!

But i have to wait until 23. February! Till then i will play WRC, which i get on Sunday!
Cya!

my first plan is to play the game for a few hours with my new steering wheel, then try to network up with my buddies and enjoy multiplayer :)

first of all i have to explore the wohle game, than trying to achiefe all licenses in gold. perhaps first do arcade races, or first take a few photo mode shots...... i am confused what to do first..... **** this game became so huge.

Merry christmas to all you crazy guys!!!

I think I'll probably look around at the cars and events avaiklable, then I'll do some arcade races and try out some new tracks and then I'll do a license before doing some of the events.

Same thing here. First I'm gonna explore everything as thoroughly as I can (cars, tracks, different modes) then I will get started on actually playing the game. I may have to do a little arcade mode first if they have any of the new tracks open right from the start just to see them.

my past strategies:

GT2: reputation of the brands
GT3: japanese GT Cars

after those relativ stupid strategies, i'll try it in GT4 with the power-weight-ratio (e.g. Garaiya).

First a couple of runs with Opel Vectra on Nurb then I will check out new cars and new stuff, later I'm gonna attack licences....after that who knows?! :sly:

First I read the manual. When I am done (after about 1 year), I start looking for cheat codes.

If I can't find any, I'll sell GT4 and wait for GT5 to be released. :dopey: :dopey:

Or maybe, I copy the memory card from a friend. :embarrassed:

Ain't I the perfect GT player??

:D

For the first three in the series I took the get the licence and move up in simulation mode. However with the addition of so many awesome tracks I will start with Arcade so I can get to the Nurb and Lemans?!?! in LMP and JGTC cars by the first week. Complete the Arcade including Time Attack Start Sim mode and leave B-spec for last when my fingers for off for playing too much 👍 :)

I'm gonna use the same strategy i've used in every gt game since Gran turismo 1. Buy the best starter FR car, or one of the best, and use it untill it is completely too slow. I dunno about the other parts besides the 1st few races yet...

One thing for sure is i wont buy the Viper as my 2nd car in gt4 like i did in gt3..... big mistake :dunce:

Win prize car from gold license, do an Endurence as soon as possible, pwn rest of game with sweet prize car.

I'll be wanting to test out the "online" (tunnelled LAN) play soon as well.

If the in my opinion still possible online play and the lust for some cars doesn't lure me away, I plan on getting golds on licenses until I get a proper FR prize car that I like to start competing in the cups.

And then buy a few cars I like, fiddle with their setups and learn the Nordschleife until I can drive it with eyes closed.

And if online play is in I'll look for a circle of clean drivers to enjoy online gaming without retards and idiots behaving like hairless monkeys in machines they can't control in an enviroment they don't know.

Step 1. Buy Car
Step 2. Race/ Upgrade Car
Step 3. Step 1.
Close
Step 1. Basicr License
Step 2. Get gold to see if you get a free car
Step 3. Buy car
Step 4. Race/ Upgrade Car
Step 5. Step 3 , after couple cups won
Step 1 but more advanced...maybe rally?

I'll probably attack it with a sword, or perhaps some form of bludgeon. None of this "buy this car and race it this many races" stuff...just quick and easy. I win. ;)

With a hacksaw.

Then I will get all the gold licenses as soon as I can, and then figure out what competition I can win the Sauber Mercedes C9 from (unless I already got it from gold-license reward). Then I will try to win the sunday cup with my C9.

I'll prolly just mess around in arcade mode and go look at GT Mode. I'll save the license tests for the next day then "attack" those with the DS2. Im very interested in looking at all the cars and hopefully I'll be able to buy the STi V3 for my first car.
